Gotta say, I’m a little annoyed they announced Moxley’s return. I know GCW has to announce it because they need the buys and the eyes on their upcoming Hammerstein show, but AEW could have played coy and just let it happen naturally.

Imagine the absolute pop if Eddie Kingston was in the ring running his mouth, unable to do anything because of his injury, and Daniel Garcia & co. decide to end his career, then WILD THING!

Glad he’s back though, don’t get me wrong. Can’t wait to hear what he has to say.

They need the ratings bump.  So a surprise return was out of the question.

Surprises are nice, but I don't think there was anything that called for Moxley's presence. Even something like RT outlined, which is ordinarily what I'd expect AEW to do, seems beneath Moxley. By announcing it earlier, it builds more intrigue and actually gets somebody like me who was only planning on watching the CM Punk/MJF segment to watch more of the show.

Who do we think Mox feuds with? I’m thinking Moxley/American Dragon at Revolution.

That would make the most amount of sense. They can run it back, have Danielson say he respects Moxley and in order to prove that he's as good as he says he is, he recognises he has to go through Moxley.

I just hope they don't take the route of 'You went to rehab because you weren't good enough to be a Pro Wrestler like me! Mr. Pro Wrestling Bryan Danielson!'

It's one of those matches that doesn't require a lot of build, it's Danielson/Moxley, they're ready to tear the house down if that's what it's going to take to win.

Big Pete that’s about bang on what I expect the card to be. Maaaybe the tag title match is JE vs someone else while ReDragon & Young Bucks fight, but knowing AEW they’ll tease that longer and the whole angle will be both teams agreeing to take the titles for SuperKliq no matter who wins, but of course they can’t co-exist, JE retains, ReDragon and Young Bucks now hate each other, etc etc.

I could see FTR vs The Briscoes happening too. They’ve been at each other’s throats on social media for weeks. Seems like that match is happening eventually.

Also Cody is returning tonight. His promo might be interesting if he addresses the dirt sheets from the past few days.

Mox & Kingston are beating up Jericho.

Moxley will probably either do a trios match against Garcia and 2.0. Or 1v1 against Garcia.

Since neither Moxley or Brian need a ppv lose right now.

And before the breakup their will probably be a Stadium Stampage or a Blood and Guts match between Best Friends and the Undisputed Elite.

3 months off and going sober looks good on Mox. I didn't think there'd be much of a difference, but wow. He looks 10 years younger.

I just got chills.

Where is everyone? This has been a great show so far.

I skipped the show and planned to catch it tomorrow.

Will leave this here for all to see. Black obviously has been working this angle with Pac, and Pac has never, ever, looked better.

I'm glad they just let Jon Moxley say his piece. Even him calling out that fan was a great little moment. It was a simple segment, a good message to send to the fans delivered in a way that felt authentic to Jon - good stuff.

Geez they lay the Wardlow-MJF stuff on thick. I thought for a moment they'd actually add some layers to the feud to justify why Wardlow hasn't just destroyed MJF by now and actually have MJF apologise to Wardlow but they just laid it back in again. The turn is coming but they've been teasing this for over two years now. I keep seeing Batista-HHH comparisons, how often did HHH berate Batista like this? It was easy to get behind Batista because he out-gamed the game, Wardlow just comes off as a low IQ musclehead by comparison.

So I watched Rampage last week and watched Shawn Spears squash a really talented member of the Helms Dynasty in a nothing match. He then cut an unhinged promo where he promised that Punk wouldn't see him coming...and he gets squashed like nothing. The one segment I was looking forward to and they must have known because they booked it like a Goldberg segment. The entrances went longer than the actual segment. Just the luck of the draw, I will say with the little time they had, Punk's facial expression towards MJF was great and sold me on the fight.

That was going to be me, but KITN got me curious about the Cody promo and you know there was some good stuff here. The whole bit about comparing himself to CM Punk would have been good IF he was in a feud with CM Punk. Then he went way off the reserve, started shooting about shit before weaving back into kayfabe all to promote a ladder match that PAC even while completely blind could have seen coming. Why does Cody emote like he's Sheldon Cooper for? Everytime he stresses a word it always comes off as this weird eccentric choice. Cody is back on the never again pile.

So flicking through the rest of the show PAC-Malakai Black is something I can get behind. The Dungeons and Dragons stuff is whatever, but hey having a North English accent lends itself well to the material.

If it were literally any other human on the planet, I would have hated that promo. But because it was Cody, there was something so fucking absurd about it, and about that ridiculous fucking man, that made me absolutely love it.

And I just got a hell of a kick out of CM Punk and Shawn Spears because, one, I was still cheesed about the squash match from Friday, and two, I was watching it in a voice chat with some friends. And one of them was talking about how Shawn Spears was really good and underrated and he was going to have a great match with Punk and then BAM! And the rest of us laughed our fucking tits off. Seven star match. And it works in kayfabe because MJF had no confidence in Wardlow because Wardlow always loses the big match (although I'm pretty sure Wardlow lost to Jericho ALSO because MJF interferes) and then he cost Wardlow when Wardlow was absolutely going to win, and then he has all the confidence in the world in Shawn Spears and then Spears gets fucking annihilated. He has all the confidence in the wrong guy because MJF takes Wardlow for granted. It's brilliant. And Wardlow is great at all these little expressions and physical touches because it's not like he's getting taken for a ride or Max is outsmarting him. He knows that he's going to powerbomb MJF until he falls apart like one of those crash test dummy toys where the joints are magnetic, and it's going to be as satisfying for him the character as it is for the viewer.

Also brilliant: the Varsity Blonds getting obliterated. Tremendously entertaining that BPJ's gimmick is now that he sucks in kayfabe as much as he also actually sucks. Hilarious.

The main event was genuinely really fun. Sting's great. The Acclaimed are great. Darby is there. And I would have enjoyed the women's match more if Serena Deeb wasn't hmmm ahhh hmm how shall we say dating a rapist?

Worst part of the show for me was the Archer/Kazarian match. Went on for too long, killed the crowd, and then it had a goddamn Dan Lambert promo. I'm supposed to buy Lance Archer as a threat to Adam Page and it takes him TWO SEGMENTS to beat the guy who couldn't even beat Doc Gallows, the worst wrestler in the entire company? Get the fuck outta here.

But overall, absolutely loved Dynamite.

I think the only part of that post I agreed with was Archer-Kazarian going unnecessarily long.

Oh yeah BPJ lost me the moment he started playing to the crowd instead of getting in the face of the guy who was bullying his heavily pregnant sister. However I had no interest in watching the House of Black squash j-brones, same deal with the main event really. I like Bowens, but I have no interest in watching another predictible Sting and Darby match.
