Tony Khan is teasing a big announcement for Dynamite this week. I wonder what it'll be? New hire? Forbidden door opened? Something about Revolution? Something about the Owen Hart Tournament? His twitter is pretty much annoying, he is at his best when he is focusing on his product alone and not taking little quips on the WWE, even without mentioning them by name.

I have no recollection of this thread. Thread didn't appear to gain much traction. It's quite possible I never even entered it... But yes, Danhausen has been talked about on PW. Thank you.

La di da, I'm too good to read your peasant threads BP and from the looks of it so was everyone else.
This is the workplace bullying I have to put up with in the Mod board, guys. And I'm just a volunteer!

Cannot believe people are buying the forbidden door stuff when clearly it has been 90 days since WWE started to purge their roster.

Just watched Punk vs MJF. Seems a divisive mach amongst our viewers. I'm with Big Pete . One match I won't be revisiting is MJF-Punk. It was fine, but holy shit 40+ minutes and they set it up for an obvious rematch and damn Punk just about hit every move in his arsenal. With Bryan-Page time just seemed to fly by, while here it felt every bit of it's 40 minute run time because the match really didn't have much heat. Punk dominated the majority of it, to the point where it was comically over the top and whatever heat MJF got was largely during picture in picture so it was completely lost. It was fine but I don't know, it felt like they blew their load. Agree. It was a long match and it felt longer, even when I skipped through the three picture by picture segments. It's strange because there was nothing wrong with what they did. Punk's selling was phenomenal, there was great psychology, nice pacing, and so on. But something didn't click. I was just bored. Also, MJF rolled out of the ring to avoid a big move far too many times. I get that it's a heel move to kill the fire, but he killed the fire several times too many. All of that for it to end with the same played out heel finish MJF uses to beat everyone. Wardlow, diamond ring punch, pin. What an anticlimax. I spent 40 minutes for that? And it kinda shits all over the actual false finish, which was really well done, where the heel cheated and got caught out. Well, he just cheats again lol. Not going on my MOTY list. I was honestly surprised it didn't click with me either. I don't think it was a bad match, but it was like they took a 15 minute match and dragged it out to 40. I wouldn't say the crowd was dead, but the roof barely came off the place either.
Looking back, I think they lost me early on. The pre-match stuff was really good with Resmberg standing in-front of MJF so he wouldn't blind-side Punk, but then Punk started working the match like Hulk Hogan with all these cute spots and it lacked fire. I also put some blame on MJF who just took the strikes instead of covering up and then when he got out of the corner because Punk was too busy playing to the crowd, he pantomined like a dunce. Then they completely buried the referee with that silly herdy-gerdy spot on the ropes which they followed up with even more show-boating.
I liked the segment the week before because it felt intense and I couldn't wait to see Punk come out like a house on fire. Instead he's slowly hitting body-slams, he's posing in the corner, he's letting fans hit MJF (Remsberg sure is lenient) then for whatever reason he decides to do the Goldberg spot and of course it backfires so now the match has to be in slow motion. It did pick up a little bit after the false finish but then Punk started selling another self-inflicted injury and the match went into an even slower more frustrating cadence. Speaking of that false finish, that would have been cool had MJF not done it on PPV not that long ago. I can even live with it being a call-back to Rave/Punk because most fans wouldn't know the reference unless it was pointed out to them via social media.
I even thought the Pepsi Plunge spot was weird and it seemed like Punk was retiring that move for good because it really had little bearing on the contest. MJF rolled to the outside, rolled back in and they were back to exchanging moves not long after.
They're going to have the rematch at Revolution and it should hopefully be better but god damn when the first match goes 40 minutes and the best thing I can say is that it wasn't terrible it doesn't put me in the mood to watch the rematch. I'm running out of matches I want to see at the show, I guess Moxley-Danielson, although I'm far more interested in them actually teaming up and not just teasing us like they did with Inner Circle.
My view is that MJF beating Punk should mean something, but in the long-run Punk is most likely coming out of this feud victorious and ultimately MJF will most likely put Wardlow over and Wardlow is going to have to stand on his own two feet while MJF goes and rehabs himself, most likely with the TNT Championship.

Brilliant review, Big Pete. You hit on all the points why I didn't like that match. I thought the body slamming was fine, at the end of the day Punk's an arrogant gloater kinda character just like MJF and I understand that Punk would love to pay MJF back with the kind of thing he would do. Plus he's established that Body Slam symphony as one of his signature move. That part of the match worked. Besides that, spot on. As you say, the shoulder charge into the corner was lazy. Has Punk ever done a running shoulder tackle in the corner in his life? His corner charge move is the knee kick. The Pepsi Plunge led nowhere. Oh yay he hit that amazing move he never hit for 17 years. Great! But nothing came out of it. Was just another high spot in the end.

Mox vs Spanky! Been Kendrick’s biggest fan since for about 20 years. So happy he’s getting another run and at somewhere which will appreciate his talents. So excited for Punk/MJF. The five minute video package on the Road to Chicago YouTube video is a piece of art. Let’s go Punk! Wow nevermind, Tony Khan just pulled him couple of hours into his debut. Terrible look here. You have Excalibur calling your matches with what he said in the past but Brian Kendrick is where you draw the line? Fuck outta here. I kinda of wonder if Kendrick and London were on drugs at this point when it was said. Not to excuse the man but still, I can't imagime Danielson is happy. Him and Kendrick are super tight. Hate to be the person who told Dragon Kendrick isn't being signed and is going to have his troubled past brought to light. Kendrick probably quit WWE thinking he had AEW in the bag and had a gig secured even if just backstage and then this happened. /photo/1 Would it be wrong to make an Elimination Chamber joke?

A whole lot of people already have.
Ali should just start posting this sort of stuff to get his WWE release. Start ranting about Jewish space lasers and crap, just going utterly over the top until he is released.

Punk/MJF 1 was pretty awesome. Punk's best AEW match. Considering I loved/Darby Punk, that says a lot.
