My personal favorites are Universal Monsters. Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, Mummy, Wolf Man, etc… but my all-time favorite would be Jack Griffin (the Invisible Man).

I respect them and their iconic nature but I have a hard time finding any of them truly scary after what’s came over the years. It’s hard to go backwards (for me) but I would have understood anyone taking one.

The guy in the new Invisible Man certainly would be a great villain.

Strangers seems to get a lot of people , I get it because as you said … it could happen but at the same time - those antagonists are incredibly dumb.

The sequel detracts completely from the original and turns into more 80s camp and I prefer it - fans of the original wouldn’t though.

The Invisible Man is phenomenal, and Jack Griffin is a great villain. I wasn't thinking along those lines at all but great shout. Dracula is another classic. Don't think that type of villain is so over with PW though.

White Goodman- Dodgeball

Emperor

That’s a great choice - it was tough between him and Shooter. He’s so god damn quotable and funny in that movie despite being a giant tool. I think his quotability is what swayed me ever so slightly towards Shooter who just epitomizes shit heel for me.

Children's

Sid - Toy Story



Sid is that awful kid you never want to have as your neighbour, especially if you have kids of your own. Nasty, sociopathic, he is not only mean to the toys in the film, but also to his sister Hannah. He steals her toys and mutilates them, especially horrific in this world where toys are living, breathing, feeling. Bad little kid.


Action

Agent Smith - The Matrix



The big bad throughout the Matrix series. The antithesis to the protagonist Neo. He is a machine, and he serves the machines, unflinchingly. He becomes even more dangerous in the sequels where he becomes an Exile computer program with the ability to clone himself into other beings. A fascinating character made all the more compelling by a fantastic character portrayal by Hugo Weaving.

Son of a god damn bitch. Trunchbull was my next pick.

Really shocked that Dr. Emperor didn't take this one. 



Voldemort 

Anyone who goes by "He Who Shall Not Be Named" is the epitome of a feared villain. His look as a pale vampiric noseless monster is enough to strike fear into anyone but add on top of that the fact he is indeed a murderer and lover of torture and he becomes the total package. Plus he's pretty much got a cult of people to follow and believe in him that are willing to do any nefarious or murderous deed he demands. He's pretty much Charles Manson is Charles Manson was a wizard. 

Shootist 

I thought for sure I could slide Trunchbull under the radar but I guess I'll be okay with Voldemort. That lady is vile though , I had a whole write up planned featuring this giant sadistic woman who hates children yet CHOOSES to be in charge of a school. She chucks a little girl across a field by her pig tails , smashes a giant glass plate over a kids head , has a literal death trap punishment filled with murderous spikes. Great all time villain.

And I was giving Emperor a bit of shit with my meh response again. Sid is a really good villain as he touched on. In his defense - he doesn't know the toys are alive until the end but just overall he seems like a future serial killer/garbageman. I don't care about The Matrix much after the first one but that seems like a solid pick.

I had my blinders on for children's movies and was only considering animated films. At least I looked beyond Disney to find a Pixar villain. Didn't consider any live action. Both Trunchbull and Voldemort are phenomenal picks. I'm still happy with my pick though. Sid is a nasty piece of work.

Evil time traveling assassin , borderline invincible and perfect portrayal by the awesome Robert Patrick. Not a bad get for the last round.

Is Les Grossman that big of a villain? He's a dick for sure but he's just too entertaining and is the best part of that movie in the little bit he shows up. Honestly I'm just surprised that there is one comedy villain out there ... arguably the biggest one in the category even if I detest the movies.

Since there are no action picks left , initially I was going to try and go less supernatural or whatever and get a classic 80's villain. Once Hans was gone I wanted to take Brad Westley from Road House - evil rich guy who keeps a small town under his thumb and never gets his hands dirty but orders a lot of terrible things. Just a shit bag.

Thought about Simon from With a Vengeance too but hard to put him up against his brother even if I do slightly prefer him.

Mr. Joshua crossed my mind too because Busey is a nutcase and that character is as well.

Nobody picked Darth Vader in the action category so you all lose.

I was wondering why he wasn’t coming up. I sure as hell wasn’t going to pick him - maybe the ACTION guideline deterred it.

I saw Les Grossman on a comedy villains list and didn't really buy it. A dick, yes, not a villain.

I have no idea what comedy villain UT is talking about. I'm blanking on that whole category to be honest which is why I have avoided it.

Didn't consider Darth Vader but Star Wars is not pure action the way I see it.

That's why I didn't pick him, UT said he wanted definitive action films, so that's why I went with The Predator, as that film is as action as it gets.   Otherwise I would have went with Vader or Belloq from Raiders.

Yeah there’s one left that maybe it’s my age but seems so obvious. As I said I don’t care for the movies but he was a huge deal. There’s another few pretty big ones I was never drafting.

There’s a few I have with White and Shooter that hurt to leave behind.

Dr. Evil - Austin Powers



The name alone cements him as a GOAT villain. He is the star character of the Austin Powers franchise, a fantastic parody on James Bond villains, primarily Blofeld. Many memorable quotes. Spawned a miniature version of himself. What other villain can make that claim?

That’s the one I was talking about. He was the obvious one that popped into my mind.

The other one that really hurt to leave behind was Ernie McCracken from Kingpin. Classic shit bag and Murray is great playing him.

A few other less fun ones but they stick out:

Miranda Priestley
Harry or Marv
Derek (Step Brothers)

Beetlejuice crossed my mind too. That would have been fun.

A villain that popped into my head was Stifler from American Pie, but I'm not sure how much of a villain he really is. More of an entertaining dick alá Les Grossman.

Yeah he’s definitely more on the Grossman scale.

Shootist - Shootist has some interesting and enjoyable choices.  I don't know who the last one is so he can't be THAT big of a baddie though.

UT - UT has some strong picks too.  Though I'm not a horror fan, who doesn't know who Michael Myers is.  All great picks.  I think my favorite is Shooter McGavin. 

thereallt - well this list is awesome from top to bottom.  Currently, thereallt is in the lead.  

Emperor - another strong showing.  Don't know who Gus Fring is but I like the actor who portrays him.  Annie from Misery is my favorite list of this lot and of course Dr. Evil who is a pop culture icon. 

Everyone made it really tough but thereallt gets my vote for having the baddest list of son of a bitches.   

I am ashamed I did not draft this man

Dammit I had a whole write up started and messed up. 

Shootist had 37/50 with low scores going to Lecter(6) and Grossman(4). Lecter for being more fringe horror and Grossman for not really being a villain. Scar and Gruber got perfect scores and I gave Bell a modest 7/10 for not having seen The Wire but having heard about him. 



The Real LT - 

Freddy Krueger - Not my favorite villain by any means but certainly iconic. If we are only choosing the peak of the character it would be a perfect score but I will drop a point. 9/10 

White Goodman - Such a great villain , so quotable and really makes the whole movie work. Ben Stiller is perfect at playing a villain as also seen in Heavyweights (also a fun children pick). 9/10 

Agatha Trunchbull - Was going to be my pick so I technically had her rated #1 in this draft. I explained why. She would easily murder a child if given the chance and not feel bad about it. 10/10 

Predator - I don't find Predator as memorable but that doesn't mean it's not iconic. 7/10 

Tywin Lannister - Thought we'd get a GOT pick for TV but without seeing the show and just hearing the talk about it I assumed Joffrey. Don't know this dude at all. 6/10 

41/50 is a really good score. Really solid from top to bottom. 



Emperor 

Annie Wilkes - I said it was meh for me and I'll stick with it. 7/10 

Dr. Evil - I hate the movies and don't care about this character one bit but not going to deny his popularity and the fact he normally would be the top pick in this category and Emp going him last. Credit where it's due. 9/10 

Sid - Said my piece on him. Top tier Pixar villains for sure though I also think you could argue all three main villains in the trilogy of Toy Story are right there with him. 8/10 

Agent Smith - 7/10 

Gus Fring - Great pick , probably the top TV pick at least for serious shows. People love him and love to hate him and I am one of those and Emp had a great write up for him. 10/10 

41/50 - looks like a tie! Tie breaker is going to go with LT with having more 9's I guess since they were tied on 10's.
