I thought Machine Gun Kelly was a rapper or did I have that all wrong? His pop punk songs are pretty good. Started as a rapper then has be got more and more popular started to do more mainstream stuff. Latest album started as a colab with the blink 182 drummer than he brought in some of his fav punk people and ran with the pop punk sound. Received massive acclaim since it is a great stuff and airwave friendly for the most part.

I been obsessed with live Foo Fighters stuff of late. For people not in the know, they bring fans on to play with them.
Some of the best ones.
Kiss guy rocking out.
No one knows all the words to Tom Sawyer.
Green day does this too. This is an incredibly awesome video of a fan they pulled.
Pulling a pair of girls to cover op ivy.

Tesseract has been my jam as of late, really good English Prog Metal/Rock band. Been listening to them for a couple of years but they've been on my repeat the past week while working. Both singers have insane vocals, such good listens.
(Really all of "Altered State" is FANTASTIC, such a good album. This is 3 songs joint together.)
They are supposedly dropping a 2021 album which would be 3 years long overdue.

I've been watching The Evolution of Hip Hop on Netflix which is taking me through my mid teens and reminding me of a lot of bands, artists I used to listen to. So lately I've foregone the rock & metal and have been delving back into Hip Hop/rap listening to NWA, Dre, Ice-T, Tribe Called Quest, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Biggie, Black Sheep, Nice & Smooth, etc. It's crazy. Some of these songs I haven't heard for YEARS and I still remember the words. Man I forgot how much I loved Big Daddy Kane.
If you love Hip Hop you need to check the show out. Super interesting.

Inspired by my Canadian indy synergy with @admin ,: Love it! 7/4 Shoreline is my favourite BSS song too. The general consensus is that You Forgot It In People is their best album but I prefer the self titled album by quite a considerable distance. I've been watching The Evolution of Hip Hop on Netflix which is taking me through my mid teens and reminding me of a lot of bands, artists I used to listen to. It's a great show isn't it! I love the narrative of hip hop and the way you can track it's history across different areas of the US, and how the popular trends emerged because of influences from other genres and the new generation doing things slightly different from those that came before them.

c, Foo Fighters are such an overlooked band. Meaning no cool kids will ever admit to liking them. They are as dad rock as it comes. I've seen them twice, and they are absolute monsters on that stage, an unbelievable live act. I've never seen so many people in my life tear up as I did, when Grohl said " we don't say goodbye, we'll say everlong " and hit that riff as they closed the show.

Foo Fighters lost me with their last couple of albums. Boring, plodding dad rock. Guess that's what happens when rock musicians enter middle age. Wasting Light was their last great album.

I couldn't tell you the name of any of their stuff after 'In Your Honor' and both times I saw them, most of the crowd sat down for any from 2006 onwards.
They peaked with 'There Is Nothing Left to Lose' and it may be an unpopular opinion.. it's better than 'The Colour and the Shape'

I was a huge Nirvana fan so naturally followed them. They def have the 80's megarock feel like the great rock bands, while Grohl remains utterly grounded and connected to the fans which is rare for a band that size. And yeah, they may not be hip or cool, but no one will deny Grohl's talent or passion. I am not too into their recorded stuff, but love their live stuff. A lot of the shit I listen is to is pretty far out though and non-traditional. The main disc I been listening too while driving for instance is Art of Noise's tribute to Debussy.

There Is Nothing Left To Lose and One By One are much more complete albums. Coincidentally, these were among the first music albums I ever bought and listened to, so no doubt I'm biased in that respect.

I can see the argument for There Is Nothing Left To Lose. I feel it's the first album where they found their own sound whereas certain songs on The Colour and The Shape like Enough Space sound like songs Dave was trying to get on Nevermind but Kurt wasn't having it.

Once again this would place near the top of a guilty pleasures list. My mom used to play this over and over again when I was little, it just struck me as an authentic conversation between a real couple to these young ears. It still holds up even though I still don't care much for Neil Diamond and have a healthy dislike for Barbara Streisand.

Kiss on My List by Hall and Oates is still my 'happy' song. It's one of my earliest 'happy' memories watching my mom sing and dance around the house to it and 'Tonight I'm Yours' by Rod Stewart.

Now you guys have me listening to Madonna, yikes:
Still my favorite, and I was wrong, it's 19 minutes. Love the atmosphere and the acoustic guitar that comes in at about half way:

Been on an REM kick of late. Feel like they are slowly being forgotten.
As I get older, I appreciate the guitar work more and more.
Also on another Mazzy Star kick. Mazzy in the early 90's is the peak of music for me.

Aussies will remember, Recovery on ABC - for the non-Aussies, it was mid-late 90s alt-rock culture perfectly captured and delivered through our televisions every Saturday morning.
It was magic.

Saying so long and goodnight to My Chemical Romance as they have been temporarily replaced by a little Hammerfall, a lot of Jerry Reed, and a newly released Sabaton song.

I am constant awe over Stevie's discography. I keep finding songs by him I had no idea existed that I love. They Won't Go When I Go has been my recent obsession. Both by him and George Michael. Just an amazing song. Was watching the Voice the other night and said to my mom 'whose song is this?' and she said 'Stevie Wonder' and I was yet again amazed.
