Then Moxley trashed his classic pipebomb stuff. I am not entirely sure Punk retains here. Doing it next week makes me really think they are going behind Mox. And they should. Mox is the best he has ever been. Punk, not so much. We got the special win moment. But Punk not really good as champ.

That's the only way your getting him to go on a tirade.

G1 Climax spoilers: Will Ospreay is facing Kazuchika Okada in the G1 Climax finals. Good chance that we have G1 Climax winner & IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay and first-ever New Japan Strong Tag Team Champions Aussie Open facing AEW All-Atlantic Champion PAC and the rest of Death Triangle next week.
HUGE match with huge title implications going forward for both companies. And the winner faces The Elite.

Kind of wish they had Kidd Bandit cosplay Omega. Dude is a diehard Omega fan doing Kenny's moves and finishes with the One Winged Angel - he calls the Angel Killer.

Was kind of worried when the 2/3 falls match took up pretty much half the show, leaving the rest of the matches to all have to fit in one hour.
Which they somehow pulled off.
Does AEW have some sort of time machine?
also what was up with that ending

RT, remember the conversation from earlier. I am counting this as a win. It isn't official but close enough. Varsity Blonds got jobbed out. It is going to be hard to rehab them if they every try. Private Party is the same way after the HFO heel run. Jungle Boy is getting slowly whated. That virus is slowly seeping into AEW.

Andrade and Rush love ripping off masks. They do it in their matches with the Lucha Bros. They do it in their entrance. Dragon Lee should have known better then leave his own.

It's refreshing to see wrestlers blur the lines again and for Punk to embrace his inner arsehole. Whether it was a work or not, I'm glad to see somebody light a fire under Hangman. He's allowed too many wrestlers to over-shadow him, and he needs to step up and have a more significant presence on the show. Punk going for Moxley's jugular was great, so many quality lines whether it being the line about being bled over, the snowangels or the third best at everything was all good stuff. It seemed like Punk knew he had to make a splash when he came back and he couldn't cut one of those white meat babyface promos he was cutting in 2021, either way it's better business because obviously Moxley, Eddie and Hangman all want a piece.

Apparently the Hangman call out was not planned and CM Punk may have gone into business for himself a little bit. There were already reports that there might be legit heat between Punk and Page backstage and then this happened. Of course there’s always the chance it is a work based on rumours, which I’m inclined to believe it is, but it definitely made Punk look like a piece of shit for calling Hangman out knowing he wouldn’t come out. Just made everyone want to see Punk get his ass kicked even more. Maybe it worked?
Also Eddie’s tweet is amazing:

Well everyone did assume Punk would turn heel if he didn't get injured so while plans got delayed plans don't normally get drop in AEW. And Page and Kingston were two who pointed out Punk's dark side. So most likely a work.

CM Punk is back and he's back with an attitude! Calling out Hangman Page and saying what he did really set the tone, then he laid into Mox with some nice verbal jabs. Mox responded in kind, we get a heated brawl. Good stuff. Nothing groundbreaking but a strong return and a great way to start the build for the next World Championship match.
Danielson vs Garcia, holy shit. Phenomenal match. Even though he lost the match, Garcia dominating that first fall the way he did was enough to give him a huge credibility boost, not to mention how he fought toe to toe for the other two falls right to the bitter end. Gritty, technical, violent, a masterclass in pro-wrestling. Garcia must be over the moon having these type of matches against his hero.
Billy Gunn's sons turn on him. Not sure how I feel about that, although it rekindles the bromance between Gunn and The Acclaimed, which I guess is what everyone wants, so why not?
Loved the Jungle Boy/Christian segment. Much like CM Punk and Moxley, it was pretty ordinary on paper, but the execution made it. Also an interesting twist for the babyface to actually get his hands on the scumbag heel and do some damage without some immediate consequence.
Unfortunately Kenny Omega brought back that dumb North Carolina shit with him. And Don Callis. And Nakazawa. OK. He's wearing strange clothing - does that suggest he's still tender? Or is it a work? Couldn't be bothered watching the whole match, the result was never in doubt.

According to SRS there is legit issues with CM Punk and people he talked to last night weren’t even sure he was going to show up. The title match being moved to next week is a direct result of this.
Could be a case of AEW working the dirt sheets but that’s the main reason wreddit is in full conspiracy mode right now. Anything SRS says is considered gospel over there.
I’ll wait and see. If Punk drops the title next week and disappears, I’ll worry. But at the same time, fuck em. He’s been treated like a god since he signed and if he’s actually unhappy and wants to walk then clearly there’s something wrong with him. He’s been given everything he wanted and then some.
I still think Punk wins and we get Autumn of Punk instead of Summer of Punk.

Watched the Punk stuff. I have to imagine this is why you script your wrestler's promos. And while it may have everyone talking. What did it accomplish? He buried Page, Mox, and Kingston, while simultaneously praising Cena, Roman, Seth, and Kofi. Reddit is in full conspiracy mode right now saying there is legit heat with Page/Punk involving Colt. IDK. The only out I really see here is that Mox beats him. He said what needed to said to point out their short coming that the average person sees but the average aew fan gives them a pass on. Hangman was just world champion earlier this year and he doesnt even feel he deserve one of the lower tier titles right now. Mox does he long crowd entrance no matter what which why if his stable mates get jump he will never make the save in time. And he doesn't need to bleed in every match. Kingston is Mox without the strong booking.

Highly doubt that's the case though.

I'm catching up a little bit, did Omega just kill a man then dump a dead body on it's head for the win? THE BEST BOUT MACHINE TAKES NO PRISONERS. Big Dave addressed it. Dragon Lee was selling, according to him. He’s apparently fine. … More from Bryan Alvarez. Apparently the locker room is divided and CM Punk pissed some people off last night. Hangman is well-liked backstage and they felt Punk was out of line. Also some people are on Punk’s side and say Hangman started this with his promo before whatever the PPV was they fought at, that Hangman was out of line with his promo. He went on to say that it isn’t a work like the MJF stuff and this is legit heat. CM Punk seems to feel that Hangman was unprofessional and decided to make him look stupid last night.

You'd hope to think this is a work - and in the space of 5 minutes, CM Punk just sold 3 main events.
Hands down, if you wanted the biggest fucking moment of the year - you'd let Colt shoot on Punk to his face, a Punk rebuttal and then let them beat the hell out of each other for 40 minutes.

Wow CM Punk is in yet another controversy, sometimes trouble just follows you because you are well....trouble. I can't imagine why this would be work, why would CM Punk want blood on his hands? He's been a pro locker room guy or has at least tried to keep that mantra. This goes against that reputation he's built for himself.
It's amazing that Tessa Blanchard gets blackballed for all of her shit yet CM Punk has left as many companies as she has and has done some trash shit to coworkers yet the latter is immensely wanted and beloved.

Tony Khan brought this on himself for caving into whatever Punk wants or wanted, and it will be at the cost of some of his good will backstage. Just have to hope the collateral damage is minimal.

When was Page unprofessional? Apparently the promo they did before Double or Nothing upset CM Punk. He didn’t like that Hangman was basically saying he didn’t belong in AEW and he was an outsider that needed to be stopped. He also allegedly got mad that he made a dig about worker’s rights, ie: the Colt Cabana drama. Colt was in Dark Order and hasn’t been seen in AEW since Punk showed up. It was heavily hinted that Punk forced Colt out. Even though it was a great promo, wrestling history is canon in AEW, and Hangman was saying what everyone was thinking (that when Punk wins a world title in the summer he becomes a bastard). Again this is all rumour and we’re probably being worked.

I love how people ALWAYS take the bait SRS lays down.
Like how is the dude a source anymore? He is 95% percent clickbait, with a fucking paywall.
As for Punk, he burns bridges. Always has. Only fed that really would book him long term was RoH and most other feds severed ties due to Punk's drama. Man had heat with everyone on the indies.

Just watched the promo. I love how people want heel Punk, then when they get heel Punk they act shocked and claim he crossed a line. The Hangman thing he did in RoH, for his first defense he challenged hurt people who could not fight then called them cowards.

The title match being moved to next week is a direct result of this. Nobody believes this right? We're talking about Tony Khan, the man who will stay the same course no matter how long it takes or the hurdles, he'll keep guys in limbo until he gets the match he wants. There is no way he changed the formatting on the show at the last minute to book a Punk/Moxley match for next week.
