Karma aka Awesome Kong has expressed interest in entering but no one in WWE has attempted to contact her. Having her return and eliminate the Bellas would be pretty cool.

Steph just tweeted that she's gonna be on commentary for the HISTORIC Women's Rumble.

Great, the historic women's royal rumble will be nothing more than the backdrop for the Stephanie McMahon show. So excited...

In four days, history will be made.  As for the first time ever, the women of WWE will have a Royal Rumble of their own.  30 women from RAW, SmackDown LIVE, NXT, and a selection of legends and other surprise entrants will square off to see who will earn a title shot at WrestleMania.

Any extra news involving it can be posted here.

And with that being said, there is some news to report.  And guess who decided to grandstand and hot dog on commentary for this match?  Not Renee Young.  Not Beth Phoenix.  Trish or Lita?  Not a chance.  RAW's commissioner, and self-professed "Head of Both Women's Divisions," Stephanie McMahon, will be joining the commentary team for the Women's Royal Rumble.

I can understand that if any of the following women I mentioned are entering the match.  But if even one of them was not entering, I'd have that one on commentary over Steph.

Maybe Steph was the only choice, since of bevy of past legends will be unavailable, due to being in the Rumble.

Ah, good point.  Charlotte and/or Alexa would've been better at this. 

Her best Vince impression with that absolutely annoying growl will be brutal to watch. Why does she think people care to see her? Her character is fucking hot ass.

Wait, Steph on commentary for an hour or so?

I can tolerate her in small doses, but fuck I don't think I can handle an hour of her talking.

The mute button is gonna be the real MVP that night.

How anyone thinks that the sound her disgusting voice will enhance the womens rumble is beyond me, it truly is. The very thought of hearing her jibber-jabber for an hour has lessened my excitement for this thing.

I'm sure the action, returns and surprises will keep me entertained, but Steph is the ultimate WWE turn off/FF for me.

Plastering Stephanie's face (and voice) over these historic moments - some much more historic than others obviously - is so cringe-worthy. I don't think anyone actually believes she's responsible for improvement in the presentation/opportunities of women in wrestling.

So anyone else think that Asuka will be the last one standing and Rousey will come out at #30 and eliminate her, setting up a Wrestlemania match?

NO! Asuka's undefeated streak should go way longer than just four months on the main roster.

If you really want to build it to being a bigger moment, then you gotta let her keep winning. At least for a full year on the main roster.

On top of having a female voice on commentary for the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble, the WWE have also announced that celebrity guest Maria Menounos will serve as special ring announcer for the event:

“The ‘Extra’ host (and WrestleMania veteran) filled in for Kelly Ripa on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ earlier today and let slip during an interview with Golden Globe Award winner Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) that she will serve as the guest announcer for the inaugural contest.”

Menounos is no stranger to the WWE Universe. She has served as a special guest interviewer for various PPV events and even has a WrestleMania win under her belt when she teamed up with Kelly Kelly to defeat Beth Phoneix and Eve Torres at WrestleMania 28.

I was hopjng she would be a surprise entrant. Her last match she looked really passable for a nonwrestler. My fave female guest appearance ever.

Female ref. Female time keeper. Even the camera(wo)man will be female!

They will either claim her as still undefeated since she didn't actually get pinned or submitted. Or she will get taken out before the Rumble by Absolution or some unknown person.

Yeah it's interesting. Ronda is currently in South America filming movie. How do you know she is there? Well she has made it a point to say she is in Columbia filming a movie by posting several photos and a video of her in Columbia to her Instagram...which she almost rarely posts to...that she has now posted to 4 times in 2 days...so either she is hammering home she won't be there or really wants people to think she won't be there

If WWE end goal is Asuka vs. Ronda at WM then Rousey doesn't actually need to win the rumble. Let Asuka win the rumble then play up how unstoppable she is. Have Rousey debut and win the first ever women's elimination chamber in about a month to win the title. Then you get Asuka and Ronda for the title at WM.

Away from the cancer that was a few guys in the party thread - that was fucking awesome! We shit on Steph and complain about all the things wrong with the revolution a lot, and while that's often deserved, there are also moments like this. It would have been completely unfathomable that the WWE would give the women over an hour's worth of time at a PPV, yet here we are after a genuinely great match in it's own right.

I think they handled Ronda's appearance really well, and much preferred her coming out afterwards than her actually being in the match. People will complain that her showing up overshadowed Asuka's win but I don't really buy that. That was a really iconic moment, and if Rousey is truly going to be full time like they said, then hopefully all the complaints about her "not being a wrestler" disappear quickly.

I did enjoy all the comments that Graves made about Sasha which now makes me want WWE to make Sasha a shirt that says I"f you got a back I got a knife" shirt. I would buy definitely by that.

I was hoping for a Becky win but knew she probably wouldn't make it coming in at 2. Surprised Sasha came in at 1 and made it to the final four.
