I presume the Elite and Hangman want little to do with him. Punk is getting his own show, and they can just not work that show. Means they will only have to deal with him several times a year at PPVs.

Punk with a strange ally. Kingston talking to the NY Post stood up for Punk saying the locker room is not divided and Punk helps the company.  Guess during their feud they put things behind them.  

Also revealed that Tony asked people what shows they want to work apparently to try to separate people who do not want to work together.

You can make a lot of money and get lot of screen time being the Piper to Punk's Hogan.

Eventually The Bucks will be on an island alone wrestling mid card guys that don't know better.

That seems to be the attitude now with most, Punk is money. That said he is not that much money. Ratings over time will tell exactly what he brings in but it is not Hogan numbers despite Punk acting like the next Hogan.

And without the Bucks Punk would still be retired doing MMA commentary. Elite started AEW. People keep trying to revise this and pretend All In never happened, but end of the day if Bucks, Kenny and Cody did not put a ton of cash on the line for All In there would be no AEW. They proved they could run a fed, which was how they got Tony involved. And they ran fine for years without Punk, and ran fine for the majority of Punk's run where he sat home hurt. And when the contract is up, Punk is gonna be sent walking as it is clear now he does not justify his price.  Bucks will be in AEW until they retire or leave for WWE.

I'd almost argue, that Cody was first a huge influence on The Elite's choice to start their own fed. Yeah, Cody took the challenge from Uncle Dave but you can also see a shift in how they presented themselves once Cody's involvement in the group was in full effect.

Whatever happened, they've done extremely well. I've taken a long time to come around and arguably a lot of what the company had been producing was terrible, but 2023 has been pretty good so far.

The challenge to Punk and the measure of his success now in AEW shouldn't be " the house " or ratings, it should be whether he can make new stars.

He's rolling with FTR - ok, they're already potentially the best tag team in the company, he's clashing with White, who's already a star. Take a Yuta or Takeshita, even a Sammy type guy and see how well he can put them over..

Cody did not have the connections to put together All In or the following. Bucks were the only ones who could have made it happen since they had BTE and worked with everyone. They let Cody be the face, but guys came for the Bucks and crew and not him. Cody was the least popular of the core Elite leading into All In though.

Punk not gonna be making new stars. If he was able to make new stars, he would have already. His ego means he needs to win though, and beating people rarely makes them stars.

Best case is Punk forms a trios with FTR. But most likely a new belt will be introduced for him to win and he will go on a long title run on Collision.

Making stars is the hardest thing to do in wrestling and it’s all about booking and presentation. Punk can do the best job he can facilitating the push of a new talent, but if it isn’t well booked and well dressed it won’t take. It’s Tony Khan’s job and I’m not sure there very much evidence he’s up to the task. At least while he continues to insist on booking it all himself.

Guys can make stars by giving the booker a starting moment or standout match. Angle excelled at this shit. But Punk is no Angle.

I do love that Punk wanted a program with Joe so he gets a single match. He wanted a program with Jay so he gets a single match. If this is what Punk thinks programs should be we are in trouble, Punk will be running train on the roster in meaningless matches.

If anything, I believe Cody saw what the group was capable of. All the pieces were there, but for me Cody was likely looking around seeing a very popular group of guys, under a very cool brand in Bullet Club and seeing all of this hype amongst the independent scene at the time - yet, it lacked some direction. These guys would be running through NJPW otherwise.

What was the likely alternative, ROH manages to pull together some money and books All In and becomes what AEW is today? Likely not.

Reading this thread, and I'm not sure who has a more unhealthy obsession of disliking Punk: c or Alvarez.

Nick Nemeth the next time Punk shows up to WWE backstage. Unlike Ryan, Dolph has made more than enough money in his lifetime and would still clean Punk with zero regrets with his amateur wrestling background. Trying to bully the brother of a well-established wrestler seems pretty crazy and gets you probably confronted the next time you show up to said brother's place of work. 

Unlike Miz who will take a handshake and be cool, I don't think Dolph will probably play ball.

Also great to see Punk trying to fight people backstage already.  Truly a changed man.  I really do hope he fucks All In now.  

Of course there is NO DRAMA backstage at AEW and all of the guys commentating on this are full of shit.  That was the official line last week right?  The Punk promo postcard clearly was CGI.
