If you check the recent posts on wreddit, someone just threw up a short video they took at Wembley. Punk saluted the crowd and said "bye" after his match. He knew his time in AEW was done.

SRS just reported that The Elite will be on Collision tonight.

MJF should appear with his world title and just show it to the crowd and leave.

I absolutely loved watching CM Punk do his thing and I'm glad AEW got the juice out of his return to the ring. But apparently while other wrestlers tend to mature and become wise veterans in their old age, CM Punk continues to act like an entitled teenager. Good riddance bud. US labor law non-competes usually hold if you quit, get laid off or get fired.

Also this was a for cause termination which triggers the for cause legal shit in the contract, which is also likely a punitive non-compete for the duration of the contract. This stuff is just standard practice for companies that use them.

Avoids allowing people doing shit like Punk just did to jump to their competition.

Absolute best possible thing they could do tonight: have Jack Perry open the show and say "Who's your daddy, Chicago!?"

That makes sense to me. I guess if it wasn't in place, Punk could just get himself fired then show up at Raw on Monday. Which would be bad for AEW for sure.

Punk will end up in court fighting various parts of the contract. For the foreseeable future though, not likely WWE will touch him knowing non-compete may in play.  Rest cannot afford him.

When the dust settles on this we're going to have to have a "What if CM Punk didn't jump into the crowd and break his foot?" conversation. He was on top of the world at that moment. No backstage issues being reported, everyone seemed to be getting along, AEW was continuing on an upward trend, then CM Punk and FTR walk into an arena to a massive pop...and CM Punk breaks his foot. Nothing was ever the same after that.

Punk started problems in every fed he worked for, was only a matter of time. AEW was not a unicorn.

Also since it hasn't been said here yet, it sounds like accounts of Punk starting the fight and lunging at Tony Khan were accurate, and the videos of the incident back that up. SRS and Meltzer have both said as much.

To summarize, since we've heard 500 stories since Sunday (yes, this all happened six days ago, not six years ago like it feels):

-Punk stepped up to Perry
-Perry said he was just trying to get heat
-Punk sucker punched Perry when he tried to push past him, then choked Perry out
-Tony Khan was screaming at Punk to let him go
-Monitors got knocked over and after Punk let go, he lunged at Khan and shouted "I quit."
-Joe was able to talk Punk down and make sure the match happened
-Punk didn't stay long after the match and had security around him the whole time

Jack is not at Collision.  Bryan and the Elite are.  

Said Punk supporters have the sads, but most of the roster is happy he is gone finally.

The era of CM Hogan finally is ending.

Hard disagree. This was a problem created by Khan by refusing to putting out the flame and instead playing middle of the road towards both parties until his hand got forced. Khan as in his statement, didn't want to do this. And unless he goes out to the audience first and foremost to set the record straight, it is cowardice telling your talent to brunt the potentially angry crowd who bought tickets months in advance with CM Punk booked in advance, only to not see him. Not due to injury or something personal like loss of family etc. but because he was suspended and then fired the day/weekend of. Vince gets a shit ton of flack but for any controversy under his rule(Benoit murder/suicide with Vince's opening saying we will not discuss Benoit after the tribute show when news came out or the recent allegations of sexual misconduct he had with a former employee), Vince most of the time began the show to set the record straight and not have a wrestler do it on his behalf. 

And rewarding Perry by going off script with a measly slap on the wrist is the definition of terrible leadership/punishment. Max Caster got suspended for weeks for his Biles comment but Jack Perry goes off script at a PPV and ends up outshining the hard work of others last Sunday and is a top heel? Nah. 

I wouldn't be against Punk showing up at Payback.
