Some updates popped up. First the buyout rumors are all coming from Punk. Punk wants his contract to be bought out. This is not likely to happen. Belief in the locker room is when he is cleared to wrestle again Tony will release him. All AEW contracts have a standard termination at will clause as we first learned about with Jimmy Havoc.

The best thing about Omega "biting" Pac and using the GTS: it proves CM Punk was right about "working with a bunch of children".😂

There isn’t a more thin skinned group of people on the planet than wrestlers. Actors might surpass wrestlers. At least with wrestlers, I can understand a friction point around putting their bodies on the line and an inherent trust factor with that, exacerbated by generally shit pay by comparison to the top actors (or even jobber actors to jobber wrestlers probably) and the public/mainstream media's perception of being fake. Actors and their stunt people, neither of whom have to deal with booking politics or the "fake" nonsense, also benefit from unions and those benefits and protections. So, that they might give wrestlers a run for their money, is impressive. Also, know that I'm thinking about it, musicians/singers and professional athletes might fall in the same bucket and either do or would also surpass rasslers on the thin skin scale if not for all the benefits (of all kinds) that they enjoy and likely take for granted, that rasslers don't because they can't. So, that all said, if we want to amend your statement to "There isn’t a more thin skinned group of people on the planet than those involved with sports and entertainment" then I'd wholeheartedly agree.

No, I stand with Todd on his comment. He's not talking about the physicality of the job, nor the money nor any sacrifice these guys make. He's talking about how literally the world will end for some of these guys, if someone, somewhere says anything negative about them. Whether it's an ingrained automatic response to " shoot " back to save face or everyone taking themselves far too seriously, or life imitating art or maybe the worst offenders are " living the gimmick "

Konnan shared some info he heard.
A lot of it is common knowledge but some interesting tidbits.
- The Bucks were meant to show up with Chris Jericho during the media scrum but that changed. - Somebody told the Bucks about the Punk interview and so the Bucks busted in with some cops which caused Punk to hit Matt Jackson. - Nick Jackson then went after Punk, which caused Ace Steel to intervene. - Kenny Omega crossfaced Ace, which is why Ace bit him. - Punk will be signing with WWE if released.
OK, so I don't think you can take any of that to the bank. First off, why would the Bucks show up with Jericho for their scrum? Were they meant to shoot an angle with the JAS vs. The Elite? That seems out of left field. At best, the Bucks may have been scheduled before Jericho but there was a change of plans.
'Cops' I presume Konnan means security and it seems like he was referring to the security guard that ran out during the Swerve In Our Glory interview. Considering how urgently the security ran out of the media scrum (Swerve happened straight after Punk) I'd say it was reacting to the assault as opposed to being summoned to help the Bucks get in.
So you can take a lot of it with a grain of salt. I don't think Konnan is making things up, but he's getting details wrong and so are his sources. The interesting line was somebody telling the Bucks what happened and given who Konnan's source likely is, how soon will Jericho start calling himself Littlefinger?

Could have been the Bucks and Jericho just cheerleading the company after having a great PPV to end the scrum. Rest is nothing new.
Still not convinced HHH wants Punk back. Would be top dollar for part time work, for someone who has now walked out two contracts.

Triple H has got the taste for returns now. If he'll bring back the likes of Hit Row, Sarah Logan and Dexter Lumis, he may as well throw money at someone people actually care about!

Nick Khan may not agree to it. Punk is getting 3 million now and he will likely ask more from WWE. 3 million plus a year on someone who may not even wrestle for most of his contract is a huge fucking risk. Whether it is attitude or injury, you got to figure he is part time at best.
I expect HHH to raid the fuck out of AEW, but he can get like a dozen guys for the cost of Punk.

Triple H is bringing back his talent.
Why, again, would you bring back Punk for round 3 of "Punk is a prick who alienates everyone and them blames everyone else for his miserable experience - despite the evidence suggesting he's just an asshole" ?
Money? WWE has money. " da ratings " ? Bring in Rock, or Cena for a PLE and you'll get the same or a bigger rub than Punk. " da demo " - who cares..

Aaron, imagine the Women's Royal Rumble. We've seen the return of AJ Lee, Sasha Banks, Kairi Sane and then at #30 this hits.
Dare I say, the best theme song in AEW?

One of the best themes in wrestling altogether TBH!
Though I think it would be better if she entered at #1 and eliminated literally everyone else!

Wrestling always struggles this time of year. They’ll get it back. More concerning thing is the half empty arenas - they’re certainly feeling the Punk loss there.

Add Jade to the list of Punk fans as well. Seems like the locker room was quite different from the one Dave painted in the Observer. The more info that comes out the more I side with CM Punk. There’s such a thing as saying the right thing at the wrong time and that’s literally all he did. “You’re not wrong, Walter. You’re just an asshole.” - The Dude Meltzer is getting his information from like 4 dudes that still like him and nobody else talking to him knows anything or is flat out lying. Punk didn’t owe anyone anything but still came back, busted his ass, got a bunch of talent over, stole the show every night, and because a few guys couldn’t keep their mouths shut he flew off the handle at the worst possible time. I still won’t defend what he did at All Out because that was one of the most unprofessional things I’ve ever seen, but I don’t blame him for his outburst one bit. He was working with fucking children and people needed to hear it.

Punk had issues with a lot of people coming into AEW. He had heat with the CHIKARA guys from trashing them, he had heat with guys like Eddie who he trashed as they came into NWA-MS or RoH and heat from some of the former WWE guys.
Tony gave him a shot and he proved Punk will be Punk at that press conference.
I know a lot wanted the Bucks and Omega punished, but if Tony sided with Punk and The Bucks and Omega left, the company would have been gutted. The so-Cal guys and Chikara guys would have walked. Jericho and the people loyal to him could have walked. Hangman and Eddie would have walked. Tony would be left with a gutted roster and an injured Punk. No more Lucha Bros, no more Darby, no more Hangman, no more JAS, no more Dark Order, no more Britt, Cole, Soho, no more BBC.
Punk fucked up in that press conference, and there was no going back from it. That was the Punk no one liked coming back that was a liability in every fed he worked in.
A lot of people have comment on Punk since the shit storm and said they do not want him back, the loudest voice being Jericho. He lost the respect of the locker room. Again. Which is his pattern. Only RoH saw him have a clean exit, but that is because Gabe let him trash the entire next generation and BURY them on his way out.

Meltzer and Alvarez are farcical. RT’s Dude quote is bang on the money. See y’all in April/May when childish fact becomes entertaining onscreen fiction.

And all those people weren't walking out on their good paying jobs for Omega and the Bucks.

Someone please refresh my memory as to what Punk's gripe was about and what he said in that infamous press conference.
