Someone please refresh my memory as to what Punk's gripe was about and what he said in that infamous press conference.

Punks a prick who hates anyone who looked at him cock-eyed. That's his gripe.

Punk thought the Bucks leaked a rumor to wrestling journalists that Punk was the reason Colt was not on TV anymore. The journalists said Bucks were not the source. He was also pissy that Hangman said he did not need Punk's advice on his matches and could do things his own way.

At the conference Punk said management at the company were children, it was poorly run, then tore apart Colt.  Then said if anyone had a problem with that, they knew where to find him.

After all the recent talk about Brawl Out, the references etc how confident are you of Punk returning? 1%? 10%?

I'm at about 70%.

Punk still not clear it is said. People just swirling rumors that once he is clear he will return. May not be that simple given how many in the locker room went on record saying they do not like him or want him to return. Bucks and Omega may have power to block him from appearing as well since they are executives. Megha Parekh likely does not want Punk back either since she was in the room when the fight started.

If Omega and the Bucks block Punk's return because he hurt their feelings they should be fired immediately. He's by far the biggest draw AEW has ever had and there is millions of dollars to be made if he returns and feuds with them.

Legal stuff blocking his return I understand. Tony deciding he was unprofessional and shouldn't come back, sure. Anything other than that, fuck off.

You block him from returning because he attacked three EVPs with the head of legal in the room and trashed other members of the roster at a media event. Furthermore many people on the roster have publicly said Punk hurts the locker room with his mere presence and do not want him back. Nothing about this says that Punk returning would be a good thing.

As for the Bucks and Omega, they are his boss whether he likes it or not. Can anyone here say if they punched their boss in anger they would have a job the next day?

I know people like to dismiss the Bucks and Omega titles, but if Tony did not want them to have status, he should not have made them executives.  And he could try at any time to strip it from them.

Exactly the problem.  He is not a draw, not liked by workers, made it clear he does not respect the fed, and frankly sucks in the ring now.  AEW does not need him.  Maybe if he increased ratings, but they did not immediately drop when he left, which means fans really were not tuning in just to see him.

Love MJF stole Punk's indy gimmick entirely and just replaced straight edge with rich kid. Then turned Punk into basically the MJF we have at home.

What I don't understand is Jericho, is Punk outing Jericho as Dave's source?

Jericho posted a delete pic in response.

Dave's source could be like 2/3rds of the roster. Punk is not well liked.

There’s a few key things we know that contributed to the idea:

-Mox hated the interim champion idea and wanted his reign to be legitimate so he could be the first 3x world champ. We know this because of sources and because other wrestlers that were interim champs said as much and Tony finally gave in and legitimized Toni Storm & Jamie Hayter’s reigns and the interim thing won’t happen going forward

-CM Punk was expected back from injury sooner but when he came back it was mere weeks before All Out, and he lost that weird match to Jon Moxley. They had that match on Dynamite like two weeks before their title match at All Out. Nobody could understand why that match happened when it did. It didn’t make sense.

So it sounds like Mox pitched a “Rocky 3” idea instead of an actual match because he didn’t want to lose. Whoever leaked this information to Meltzer left that part out. Punk comes back sooner while still injured and Mox squashes him. This legitimizes his title reign and Punk can slink away and heal. Then he comes back better than ever and beats Mox at All Out. Punk shot it down because he refused to wrestle injured no matter what and we got what we got instead. Someone leaked the details to Meltzer (Jericho probably) and Punk responded calling them all liars because they left out the part where Mox refused to lose and Punk shot it down because of his injury not just because he didn’t like the idea.

I don’t believe for a second Punk that has been involved in wrestling for so long, especially the indies and Mox was the first to pull the “that doesn’t work me, brother” on him.

Well reports are Punk wants to come back and will work with anybody. Be curious to see if these rumors being pushed are legit or not as some reporters keep pushing this hard that Punk will come back like nothing happened.

Surely AEW has a social media policy? Every professional company I've worked for has had a social media policy. This isntagram thing seems like a clear violation any possible wording of a social media policy.
- most recent strike; social media policy violation
- previous strike; compilation of verbal/written warnings for toxic locker room behaviour after man of his colleagues filed reports to HR
- first strike; belittling your boss in public and punching the assistant to the regional manager in a fight
