Week 9 begins with one of the most lopsided games of the season - the undefeated Eagles against the moribund Texans. In a league of huge parity, Vegas are spotting Philly 14 points, and that seems a little bit generous. Prepare for some more Al Michaels anarchy. 

Amongst the 1pm games I'm probably most interested in Miami vs Chicago - two teams that were active at the trade deadline. The Dolphins defence has been disappointing this season, so acquired Bradley Chubb to give their pass rush some juice. Chicago finally made a move to give Justin Fields another weapon, and it will be interesting to see if Chase Claypool can come in and help the QB continue his upward trajectory. 

There's only two games in the late window for some reason, you'd fancy the Seahawks to roll over the disorganised Cardinals, while the other game is a struggle off between two fallen powerhouses of the NFC the Rams and Bucs. If this was WWE they'd add the Packers and make it a triple threat match to find out who was worth keeping alive. 

SNF look to have finally landed on the marquee matchup of the week. The Titans have quietly rattled off five straight wins after being blown out by the Bills, and while they're clearly better than most of the AFC, the Chiefs will give them another litmus test of their place in the hierarchy. Tennessee does have a pretty good record against the Chiefs, they're 5-2 in the last seven games. Kansas City are coming off their bye, which is often where Andy Reid does some of his best work, and their offence was absolutely fantastic last time out against the 49ers.

The other tier 2 AFC team features in the Monday night game, with the Ravens boosting their defensive stocks with the arrival of Roquan Smith. The linebacker leads the league in tackles this season and will be motivated to prove he deserves the bag. New Orleans embarrassed the Raiders last week with a defensive performance more in line with what we expected from them this season, while their offence has gone back to basics with Andy Dalton facilitating Kamara and Olave while Thomas and Landry remain on the shelft. 

Cant wait for Houston vs Philadelphia tonight....

This TNF game could get really bad, especially with a disgruntled Brandin Cooks now not playing tonight. He would have been locked down by the Eagles secondary but still.

Cooks kinda made his own bed by agreeing to the contract extension, it meant that no team was going to give up a decent draft pick for him, plus pay 18 million for a season and a half. He would have been perfect for the Cowboys too.

Michael Thomas going from OPOY and a HOF trajectory to barely being able to get out on the field the last few seasons is yet another example of how finite the league can be. He rushed back from the first injury to try and help Brees get a farewell ring and just hasn't been able to get right since.

Wonder why Baltimore didn't make a move to add a WR knowing that Bateman was gone, D-Jax isn't going to move the needle.

How did Houston do that? I benched mills in fantasy and starting the Philly DEF.

Decent effort by Houston to make it a relatively competitive game. Jerry Hughes had a great game and Pierce is really just a joy to watch. Unfortunately they weren't able to hold Philly to field goals in the red zone, and Mills made a couple of bad mistakes in the second half. Eagles very efficient on offence, their RPO game is unmatched, and it's another game where I'm just sitting here wondering what the rest of the league was thinking allowing them to add CJGJ and Bradberry.

I just don't get why NYG didn't get anything for Bradberry. I guess cap reasons? But you can't tell me Patrick Graham who has a dire need for CB help in Las Vegas could not fork over a Day 3 pick to get his hands on his former cornerback. Of all the teams, Giants let Philly get him? Makes no god damn sense.

Here comes this jabrone Devin Singletary, the notorious Jet killer. Only reason he never got to put up brutal numbers vs NYJ is because Daboll went away with the run so much.

Josh Allen got lucky, strip sacked but was able to pick it up and negate a massive loss or turnover.

Josh Allen has a lot of balls, just running head first in the middle of the field. Big fantasy points but yeah this is going to be trouble, will make Zach Wilson throw a lot in this game.
