This is a nice start for the Chargers, they actually hit a deep play downfield, and then the defence follows it up with a tough goal line stand. These two things have been their Achilles heel for most of the season.

Aiyuk should have caught that TD, but this whole game has felt like Shanahan outthinking himself. They ran the ball all the way down the field and then started to pass in the redzone. Just keep handing it to CMC. :dunno:

I watched the Bills do this like 3 times today I feel your pain.

Aiyuk made up for that bad drop earlier in the endzone with that third down catch, Jimmy threw it behind his break so a great adjustment to reel it in.
Missed XP could be significant.

If this were the only week it were true, that’d be fair. Nobody plays for third and 1 quite as hard as Justin Herbert. I say that knowing no matter what players show up he’ll tear up KC next week. Bad miss by the refs to see that should be a touchback, also good rule that every punt team player needs to learn.

That touchback argument was so stupid. The 49ers guy clearly stopped still, and the whistle blew the play dead.
A rather unimpressive win by the 49ers, narrowly scraping past a team decimated by injury. Last week was an arrow up for their offence but they looked back to the same old again tonight. The whole is far less than the parts. Relying on the defence to close it out at the end there really summed it up.
