So this Saturday in Australia is huge. In Perth - Elimination Chamber (Other side of the country a non-issue for below) In Sydney: - Taylor Swift (Which is a massive event by itself) - Blink 182 - Slash (And the real draw, “Kings of Convenience” at Enmore Theatre) Seriously though I saw an article in the newspaper when I was the barbers and it said Swift’s tour is the biggest event here since the 2000 olympics and it’s not hyperbole. So instead of having extra transport etc like Melbourne reportedly did There’s trackwork and buses replace trains from Wyong to Central. Driving in Sydney is like smacking yourself repeatedly with a brick while you watch Garrett Bischoff matches hence people opting to use said transport. I know this was scheduled before all those events but the eras tour is a massive tourism opportunity for Sydney and it’s going to be a nightmare. I was in Sydney for Knotfest last year (also state election) and trackwork caused massive chaos and that will be a cakewalk compared to this. Sydney trains and I have bad blood. www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/8525145/buses-replace-trains-from-newcastle-on-taylor-swift-weekend/

I saw them at a festival years ago - they are great! It was funny to see Americans on social media completely baffled by aerial footage of the MCG not having a giant carpark around it like all of their stadiums do. As Australians we love to complain about our public transport but in comparison we are miles ahead. For what it's worth my train line was closed on Taylor weekend too...

I’ll listen to every album they’ve ever released and get back to you 😒 I love watching people mark out over the reversible train seats, I’ve just always took them for granted.

System might be the only person interested in this, but I've been preparing for the release of TTPD (one week to go!) by ranking every Taylor song through this incredible spreadsheet that a Swiftie set up... I was a little bit surprised that Rep beat Folklore because I would always have said that was my favourite album, but that is truly a no skip album just bop after bop. If anyone wants to see the full 206 list lmk 😉

She's gonna pull off another Top 10 sweep.
Maybe even Top 20.

Goddamn this album is good. I was not a Swift fan, but you name a album Tortured Poet Department you get my attention.
Damn to go from the amazing Eras tour to this surprise double album is just unreal. Like how the hell you find time to write and record 31 new songs while on one of the most ambitious tours ever done.
So curious what her legacy will be like in 20 years. She keeps releasing at this level will have to be considered up there with Elton John and crew for like the greatest pop star of all time.
For this one, am absolutely loving the Tori Amos inspirations. Not into the overly poppy vibes or heavy pop songs, but there is enough shit with deep Tori vibes I am really into it. It is like a popped out version of the 90's lilith faire girls. I imagine Swifties are losing their minds at this stuff if people not into pop at all like me are digging it.
I imagine this gets the grammy too for best album. Not be shocked if one of the songs takes best song too. With 31 songs, gonna have a dozen or so hits I imagine from this. And I imagine hits with different groups who are not fans yet.
I Can do it with a Broken Heart is one of the catchiest damn songs I heard. Shit gonna be all over dance clubs.
Tortured Poet Department def my fav song off this. Loving Fortnite too.

She absolutely hit gold when she started working with Aaron Dessner. It really allowed her to show off her songwriting and creativity to a group of people who wouldn’t have given her a chance before hand.

Noticed that looking into who was doing the production with her. They do that 90's female indie folk sound so damn well. Also a shit ton of range on the new album.

I'm glad you said that because it's been so weird to see so much criticism of "every song sounds the same", people have a weird hate boner for Jack Antonoff. Like what's wrong with your ears if you really think the run of Fresh Out The Slammer, Florida and Guilty As Sin sounds the same? Alright there aren't many bops on it but it's a heartbreak album, what did you expect? Overall it's basically a blend of Evermore and Midnights - because it's the concluding chapter about that period of her life. The two songs about Travis hint that there are bops to come in the future.

I noticed it really basically I do not like the poppy tracks and would prefer stuff with just a simple piano or guitar and her singing. But again I am not a fan of most of her stuff and super picky with my music. One day she will do like a Taylor unplugged album and I will find Swiftie heaven.
That is funny complaint to have about a band though in their style sounding too similar song to song. I mean I love chaos bands, but most people expect bands to have a uniform core sound. Like what do they want, a Taytay death metal hit mixed in?
At least in my sphere of attention, I see nothing but the highest praise for this disc though. Think people just want to hate because it is uber popular. And gonna be a rough time for them, as there are likely a dozen singles in this album. Listen to the radio it is gonna be all you hear for a long time.
Is fun too that I am seeing the Dark Cabaret people I listen to even commenting on this disc. Swift slowly transcending all genres.

Folklore is my favorite album of hers.
I’ve only listened to the new album through once and liked it. “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” is the stand out track to me.

I love this one too, her angry songs are always amazing (my tears ricochet, hoax, Would've Could've Should've). The shots she takes at Scooter Braun in this one are *chefs kiss*
