It wasn't incredible by any means but still a damn solid match and a good finish. It won't stay at #2 on my list for long though. As good as Wrestle Kingdom was, the match quality was waayy down from previous years, with one obvious exception.

I wish the women's match got more time because even though it was like 5 minutes long it was still great.

I also edited my post to include matches from Dynamite last night. Swerve Strickland vs AR Fox was surprisingly good for what felt like a throwaway singles match.

I watched Nakamura vs Muta. I wouldn't go as far as to say it sucked, but it also wasn't that great. I was just scratching my head as to why Muta got to spray mist in Nakamura's face twice, right in front of the referee, without consequence. At least Nakamura got his comeuppance in a pretty cool finish.

They must make exceptions for 50 year old immobile samurai demons who are about to retire.

I always enjoy this as it feels like you get a bunch for WK and then a few fall off (depending on the demo of the board) thanks to WM. Fully believe that was the only reason WWE tried to do a "day one" event so they could claim the first pick for a thread on an obscure forum that USED to be tied to a wrestling web site...

Just a good opening match with sensible selling and an enjoyable big man match that wasn’t slow as molasses. Strowman dedicating the match to someone then losing was dumb but that wasn’t the fault of the match.

White Vs. Okada was a damn fine match, but underwhelming for a WK main event. The main event(s) of WK the past few years have been exceptional, so it was a bit of a step down. I don't expect it to stay at anywhere near #2 by the end of the year. I didn't expect it to be able to follow Omega Vs. Ospreay anyway though, which was so good that it was still a pretty good WK overall.

I had time to watch some AEW now that I am finally caught up with NJPW. Some pretty good matches on Dynamite on the 11th.

First time I've seen Danielson in about a year and it seems he's better than ever. First time seeing Takeshita ever and he really impressed me. His style was...unique. He seemed a bit slow, but then delivered powerful moves really well out of nowhere. It seemed he is an excellent match worker.

I was also impressed by Hook and Moriarty from their tag match early on in the show. It was basically my first time seeing either of them. It was just a throwaway tag match, but I would be interested to see them in some legit matches if that ever happens.

Added in the LIJ Vs. KONGO matches from the 2nd Wrestle Kingdom show in Yokohama. All five of them were actually very enjoyable and enough to make my list, as was my first taste of YO-HEY against El Desperado. YO-HEY had a very unique style that flowed perfectly with his gimmick of THE FLYING PLAYBOY~ 

It was my first time seeing all of these NOAH people except for the 10-man tag they had with LIJ last year. I really liked Tadasuke in his showing with BUSHI. Sadly, being one of the lowest cards on the show it was very rushed and that's why it came in last on my list. But the fact that it was good enough to make it on there was a testament to Tadasuke's badassery. He just had so much attitude and swagger. But in a very unexpected way. He doesn't come off as someone trying to be cool. He just seems like he's having fun. A showman with a little splash and attitude, but working the crowd with heel splash...not athletic prowess. Not taking the cheap way out or stereotyping any common heel tactics though. Just jumping around like a giddy bully. I approve.

I thought Hajime was basically a HARDASS KUSHIDA right out of the gate. I have not seen much of KUSHIDA himself and would like to see more, but Hajime soon made it apparent he was the better version. A lot of similar moves ended up coming out to fit my initial impression of the similarity, but in a much better fashion such that I was blown away. He put on a Hell of a match, but it was a little too short. He probably could put on MOTY with Hiromu in a BOSJ final. It was very intense.

Soya was a really COOL GORILLA. Very Ishii-like actually, but with more power. His size and clearly refined matchworking skills created a harmonious explosion of excitement during this match with the dullish SANADA. SANADA is a fantastic worker, but he needs someone else that is exciting to really shine. This gorilla fit the bill nicely and made me proud to be a SANADA fan.

The show-stealer was Takagi Vs. Nakajima. Nakajima had the most amazing presence I have ever witnessed. It was like LESNAR was in the ring just because of the stances he made. I legitimately got a feeling like Takagi was going to be knocked out with a single kick before the match even began it was that powerful. I felt scared for Takagi. And when he did eventually hit that first kick, it was BRUTAL and laid Takagi out immediately. Something that would never ordinarily happen to Takagi this early in a match. It was very exciting. And then he started doing some hardcore wrestling shit like OMEGA that looked brutal as fuck. LESNAR and OMEGA in one person? Yes, please! 🤯 would probably like this guy.

Naito Vs. Kenoh was cool but a bit formulaic. I placed it so high due to the main event feeling and the tense finish, but it dragged a bit in the middle. Kenoh didn't get to show off much and I wish it had been more. Both solid workers though.

AEW is surprisingly kicking ass and filling in a large chunk of my top list already. Very unexpected. I remembered Darby was good, but Jesus...that match with Buddy was incredible. I am amazed by how much raw talent AEW has. If half the matches weren't run-in interference bullshit like TNA then it would be unstoppably powerful.

I haven’t decided where to put it. It will be on there. The match had just ended and I was salty about the finish and didn’t want to be unfair.

GCW: Don't Talk To Me. Gringo Loco vs El Hijo Del Vikngo.

The over the rope 630 on the table from Vikingo was sick in that match. Really shocked HHH has not made a serious play Vikingo. His gimmick would work so well there.

Check out his AAA work Ed , it is as good if not better. Komander is a better flyer, but Vikingo is best luchador in a long time. Vikingo IMO should tone down the more dangerous high spots, as he clearly does not need them, and should he want it, will have a long ass career.

I will. Thanks for the heads up, c Komander is insane as well. He was a part of a scramble match in AIW a while ago. That was the 1st time I have ever seen Komander wrestle. That guy did some indescribable moves during that match. I look forward to checking out more E.H.D.V. & Komander matches in the future.

Heard Komander tore things up in the Super J Cup. I really need to check out the matches.  Believe this was another case of wanting Vikingo and getting Komander instead.
