Because it's bullshit.

I assume it was just corporate but not reported that way. WWE Corporate is expected to get deep layoffs since Endeavor already can cover a lot of what WWE Corporate does. So top people will be merged, the rest laid off.  Endeavor said their goal is between 50 and 100 million in cuts.

Reported that talent did not get the memo but it was reported by SRS so who knows.  But makes zero sense to do any cuts on the day of a show.  No clue if others on road teams were included or not.

But people will be cut today, with a talent review also coming.  WWE corporate is 800 employees so to get 50 million savings in cuts there alone is not likely.

Jamie Horowitz, Executive Vice President of Development and Digital first big name released.   Catherine Newman, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing also gone.

They are the ones making the big money. They will keep a few team members to migrates stuff, but the rest of the teams I assume are also gone. A few more corporate people also gone but not anyone that most will know or care about.

No talent is expected to be released today.

Nick Khan will leave sometime in the near future.

Wonder what WWE is going to do with all the unprofessional children there, like Seth, AJ, Miz, Rock and Cena? I also assume Ace is being hired, as Punk will not work with HHH or Regal and will need a go between.

There's a weird sense of irony. In 2011, Punk was famously criticising Hunter and the WWE for what it had become.

Fast-forward a few years and it's as if Hunter had actually listened to Punk and NXT explodes into an independent wrestling fans wet dream.

WWE exists today and is experiencing its current acclaim because of the work done with NXT. Including developing some of the most deserving independent workers in the world, a women's revolution and shifting to long term storytelling.

I can't help to think Punks words on change motivated Triple H.

But here's the thing, Hunter took that criticism and made the most significant change the company had seen since the end of the Attitude era. Punk has just bitched and moaned and alienated everyone in the business.

Punk's got no where else to go, and I would bet, the stronger leaders from WWE would make him very aware of this fact, and they don't actually need him and it is a privilege for him to be back.. and likely remind him also, most of the WWE roster would whoop his ass in half a second if he starts throwing hands.

New reports are Jade will go to the WWE performance center next week and be in and out for the next 90 days.  I assume we see her in the Royal Rumble, if not winning it.  Rocketing her to WM locks one of the women's main events easily and plenty of girls can carry her as well.  Lords knows the older girls carried people in far, far rougher shape than her.

Do hope these rumors are true, as her spending three months in the performance center working on chain wrestling means she can fill in her major weaknesses.  She has come nowhere close to her full potential, and working with the WWE crew, she is more likely to hit it.



WWE was starting to change before Punk pipebomb repeat.  They already moved from OVW to FCW, and FCW laid the framework for what would become NXT.  As guys retired or left for Hollywood a lot of the politics backstage went away too, as the guys who came up on the indys post 2000 were not really into the politics that the attitude people were and were more used to going out night in and night out and busting their asses.

Jade going to the performance center, for three months would be a good call. Have her debut at the Royal Rumble similar to AJ Styles when he came to the WWE.
