Sensational effort to try and get it on top of a Raider but it should have never come to that.

CJ Uzomah had 2 backbreaking penalties, Bryce Huff continues the weekly theme of dumb roughing the passer penalties that gave away 3 points, Michael Carter does a dumb block on an engaged defender and Hackett after a good 1st quarter, completely shit the bed with the playcalling in QTRS 2 and 3. 

That's why the Jets lost. Anyone who thinks Zach this week sunk the Jets tonight has no fucking idea what they're talking about. How this dumb ass team doesn't play Abanikanda or play Jeremy Ruckert as the primary blocking TE is beyond me and makes me think either Saleh or Hackett has too much faith in the seniors of the team. 

Special teams was also a blunder with Echols over perusing as a gunner that gave that returner of Vegas a huge gain that led to points. Gipson took the ball out of the end zone and got snuffed at the 15.

Today was a collective fail, and that ultimately falls on the head coach who continues to only care about his defense kills it every week and uses the rest of the team as a scapegoat to buy more time. Saleh hasn't shown me the leap in year 3 that I need to see to think he deserves a year 4.

Joe Douglas, the GM of the Jets, is the main culprit for this season. He's been here for YEARS and they still HAVE holes at WR2, STILL HAVE HOLES at TACKLE and his QB of choice didn't live up to the billing. 

JOE DOUGLAS I HAVE BEEN HUGELY VOCAL FOR but he fucked up this offseason so bad. Gave up too much on the Rodgers deal, got sniped of a good tackle in the draft when he should not have even swapped picks to begin with, then didn't address the position until round 4 and continued to put eggs in the Duane Brown basket despite age and wear/tear. Swung and missed on the Dalvin Cook signing, swung and missed on the CJ Uzomah signing, for every good move Douglas makes, he also failed to make some moves too.

But again Douglas & Saleh bought themselves another year because of Aaron Rodgers because if Woody cleans house, Rodgers will retire. Same with Hackett. Aaron Rodgers bought them a meal ticket for next year so this year means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

There was absolutely no chance that the 49ers were losing four straight, but I didn't expect Jacksonville to lay that big of an egg. The concerns about San Francisco were always hyperbole, their offence is a completely different proposition when Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel are out of the lineup. I don't think Trevor Lawrence has been a problem or anything, but only 9 touchdowns is a huge disappointment from his preseason expectations.

I was very impressed by Houston's entire team performance. This felt like a likely spot for a let down after the previous week's heroics, but they showed up big time. Stroud had another great game, Noah Brown looks like Dez Bryant, they ran the ball for the first time all season, and their defensive line (Sheldon Rankins!) absolutely dominated. I think Cincinnati will be fine but they might well rue dropping this one come the end of the season, Thursday night against Baltimore is an absolutely massive game for them now.

Giants game was just pure pain, but unfortunately we didn't have Lions/Chargers on TV here. At least Kyler's return gave us something positive today.

Blindy is absolutely right, Zach definitely wasn't the problem tonight for the Jets, he played a much better game than last week. Other guys on the offence continue to make lots of mistakes, and the playcalling is way too conservative. Wilson has a cannon (just look at those last two throws into the endzone!) they might as well let him cut it loose and rely on the defence rather than playing scared the whole time. Raiders aren't pulling up trees but it just shows how bad McDaniels was, they would have absolutely lost this game if he was still there. Aiden O'Connell is whatever but at least he throws the ball to Davante.

Speaking of rookie QBs, the Will Levis train derailed rather quickly.

Team was down like 28 or whatever before the Dallas defense let up and took priority to rest up guys on snap counts. I don't even blame Devito there either, he's being thrown to the wolves by the coaching staff. He's there until either Barkley catches up on the offense(Which I am shocked he hasn't given he was with Daboll for a bit in Buffalo) or Tyrod Taylor is cleared to return. 

I remember hearing Geno Smith a decade ago being bottom 3 too, look how that turned out? His head coach(Rex Ryan) threw him under the bus on numerous occasions, he got assaulted by a teammate and lost his job and reputation in NYJ. Rather than blame the 24 year old kid 10 years later who was overdrafted and thrown to the fire with no ability to learn while on the sidelines all 3 years, I would much rather blame a general manager who had the word "desperation" written all over his forehead this offseason and a head coach who still can't control the penalties and doesn't want to stir the pot of sitting guys down(Unless it's Randall Cobb who is more so a coach at this point of his career) in favor of the youth. 

As @admin said, it's more than just 1 man. Hackett's continued conservativeness is very much bothersome, it's great to let Wilson rip it until you get the red zone, than the offense clamps up like a shell and settles for 3 instead of 7 in fear of turnovers. It's playing scared and playing shook which sucks because the offense can get in a rhythm and then shoot themselves in the foot for various reasons. The 2nd and 3rd & 1 calls where I posted a few pages ago was absolutely brutal. The O-Line is wounded and the guys out there aren't great run blockers, especially on the right side of the line so what are we doing with 2 predictable run play calls for 1 yard?

Zach Wilson will have his 5th year option declined and maybe get thrown out next year if the Jets draft a worthy understudy to Rodgers and he will go on and get to learn on the bench and whomever gets him will coach him up and let him loose and get something out of a reclamation project. Can see the writing on the wall already.
