Rumors are Seth is getting buried by Punk at the Rumble. You mean " Rumours are Rollins and Punk will headline The Royal Rumble. " Something being reported up with Drew. Said he was slamming shit in the locker room post match, then bailed right after. Can see him not even staying in the ring for Punk to come out on the videos, and was not involved in setting up Punk vs Seth. Not a good time to be throwing a fit, as it is clear there is someone that can easily slide into whatever Drew had lined up in the future now easily. Understandably, if you've just worked your ass off and someone arrives and takes all the attention away from it... sure, you might be frustrated. But regardless of whether the AEW obsessed are walking with a limp tomorrow or not, this is a big moment for wrestling in general. Most people likely thought they'd never see this moment and, for whatever reason, it's happened. If managed well, and it likely will be, it could be an amazing 2024. His matches won't be great, but he's a phenomenal promo and outside of the ring a fantasic storyteller, so expect some big time interviews/docos. That, and AJ deserves the HOF induction. So, do the right thing.

Sure Seth will have a totally competitive program with Punk where he comes out looking good. Like Mox, Hangman, Starks and MJF all had. But Punk gets hurt every four matches or so of late so he may not even make it to the Rumble.

Also odds are most AEW obsessives are slightly butt hurt. I won’t lie, I’m a little butt hurt. Just barely. Tiniest of butt hurts. I believed Punk when he showed up, told the AEW locker room he was happy as ever, told MJF to go join the 4 day wrestledfest or whatever… I believed him. Because up until that point I had no reason to doubt him. But then the last 18-ish months happened and I realized CM Punk was no better than Hogan or Triple H or insert sell out here. This was inevitable. He realized AEW was poorly run and he could use it as a stepping stone to get back in WWE. Anyone who didn’t expect this is stupid (paging SRS…paging Dr. SRS…) I’m still the guy who says “get your bag, do your thing, tribalism be damned.” Didn’t flinch when Cody left. Didn’t care when Jade left. Cheered when Edge jumped ship and AEW landed Jay White and Will Ospreay. But this one stings a little. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. The Voice of the Voiceless lied to our faces and is no better than anyone else. I could care less that CM Punk went back to WWE. Like I said, it was inevitable, and more power to him. Make your money. But that lying fuck. God damn it you lying piece of shit. This made my stomach do a weird thing. May be the cringiest thing I’ve ever read. Real SCJerk Hall of Fame Material.

But Punk gets hurt every four matches or so of late so he may not even make it to the Rumble. And if he doesn't, Seth could always just get a few of his buddies together and gossip like teenage girls until they eventually come to blows. Then a little while later, Seth and his new pals could file for a ridiculous trademark and form a stable playing up their obnoxious personalities. For someone who says they don't care, you're sure talking like someone who forget to bring the KY to a prison party.

I am all for Punk in WWE. The backstage drama will be glorious. He has heat with so many people he burned after he left the first time, or while in AEW.
Also while the match will suck, I will watch to see Seth's promos cause they are about to be fire as he rips apart AEW.

Good news is, this means Ryback can official retire. That's the promise he made if Punk returned.

Crummy show in general. I enjoyed the storyline from last years bloodline war games match, but I don’t think either year of WWE doing Wargames has justified keeping the gimmick for the main roster. They just don’t do “brutal” well. The women had a better showing, but I tend to agree with the “when every person stands in one place to catch you, how real can it be” school of thought for both big cage jumps.
Since they don’t do brutal well, honestly the Wargames are better for comedy. The Asuka missing the spray and getting hit with an extinguisher spot was funny, as was five sitting on the middle rope ddts at a time on Judgment Day.
Don’t care how much merch he will sell, would not have brought back CM Punk.

CM Punk returning is cool and all, but nowhere near as awesome, as it could have been.
Also, Iyo Sky being the Queen of Wargames, may very well be one of my favorite things in modern-day WWE. I absolutely love the fact, she's been in every women's Wargames match to date.

There’s been far crazier returns in WWE before this. Hulk, Ultimate Warrior, and Bret off the top of my head. If those guys can return and do business then anything is possible.

Everybody's gotta price. If Savage were still alive I wouldn't have ruled him out either.
Bruno and Sting came on board so nobody is off limits.

And here I am just happy to see Randy Orton back. That was a very cool return that absolutely nobody is going to talk about today  I’m curious what Punk’s first program is gonna be. Also if he is full time or not. The full schedule in AEW is probably the main reason he got hurt so much. And we all know what that did to his mood. Hopefully he takes it easy.

I fully believe that Randy Savage was on his way to returning before his passing. He did that video game commercial and that is usually the first sign of a guy returning. So sad, would’ve been awesome to see him and Vince mend fences and have a proper HOF induction. Eric Bischoff literally walked out on TV and hugged Vince McMahon. 10 year old me was never the same after that.

Am I the only one that isn’t that surprised? He clearly still wanted to wrestle and when he made life miserable at AEW the first thing he did was show up at a WWE show and try to talk to Triple H. I’m more surprised that they hid it so well and every single dirt sheet was betting their jobs on him not appearing.
We’re talking about the guy that signed his WWE contract on the ROH World title. He has no standards despite what he says into a microphone. Only difference between the last 18 months and now is people were actually calling him out to his face and he couldn’t take it. We’ll see if the same happens here or not.

I'll keep the energy the same. I don't like Punk and have made it known as to why but I am happy people got to enjoy his return and I like seeing people happy so there's that. I felt the same way on his AEW return even, happy people are happy but I am going crazy over a mid 40's year old guy with tons of mileage wrestling in big spots over the youth? Eh.
Punk can work as a part timer but he isn't going to sign up for that. I will watch RAW to see his promo just to see how much he is able to get away with and I am sure him and Rollins will have a good match but Punk's WWE return was sort of ruined by his AEW stint IMO for me. I guess how with everything went down in AEW it makes his return all the more palpable for most.

I don't know if he truly loves new wrestling and the politics behind it. But as he has shown in all of his ventures from WWE to UFC to Marvel, if you pay him enough, he will sign up and do his part. I think most WWE wrestlers these days are trying to save their bodies and are looking to cash in & out. It's a semi safe working style and you get the most eyeballs to watch you go to work. I treat Punk as a free agent signing with a team looking to get a ring in the NBA. "Ring chasers" are what they're called. They are past their prime but are a big name and command attention and are looking to get their piece of the pie and that's it.

I don't give a single flying fuck about CM Punk. He was great in AEW, for a short period of time. Now I give zero fucks.
For me the real highlight of the show was The Miz vs Gunther. I haven't seen Miz wrestle in a very long time and I'm surprised by how good he still is. He added some lucha moves to his set, and there was great psychology to open the match with The Miz poking the bear, just as Gunther provoked him on the previous Raw. I enjoyed that a lot more than both clusterfuck War Games matches.
Rhea Ripley vs Zoey Stark is also worth mentioning. Stark reminds me of where Rhea was a few years ago. A brutal, muscular, bruiser but not quite good enough to stand at the top of the mountain. Not yet.
