I don't give a single flying fuck about CM Punk. He was great in AEW, for a short period of time. Now I give zero fucks. For me the real highlight of the show was The Miz vs Gunther. I haven't seen Miz wrestle in a very long time and I'm surprised by how good he still is. He added some lucha moves to his set, and there was great psychology to open the match with The Miz poking the bear, just as Gunther provoked him on the previous Raw. I enjoyed that a lot more than both clusterfuck War Games matches. Rhea Ripley vs Zoey Stark is also worth mentioning. Stark reminds me of where Rhea was a few years ago. A brutal, muscular, bruiser but not quite good enough to stand at the top of the mountain. Not yet. Emperor giving praise to The Miz made my Sunday. Never thought I would see the day. Now I wait on Jim Cornette, I expect him to say Gunther carried him from A to B but I might be stunned.

This made my stomach do a weird thing. May be the cringiest thing I’ve ever read. Real SCJerk Hall of Fame Material. Of all the people to criticize someone for letting themselves get emotionally invested in something they have watched for 30 years, I didn’t expect it from the guy that deletes his account every time someone disagrees with him. Hey, am I perfect? Am I fuck. But I’m not emotionally invested in the failure of a company. CM Punk got fired from AEW. Didn’t even leave, got fired. And you’re angry and calling him a lying piece of shit and getting upset because he chose to go back. I don’t want to hear one word out of you about tribalism or ‘let’s just enjoy wrestling’ or anything like that again. You are the face of tribalism my friend.

He has been a consistently invaluable piece of WWE for over a decade now. I was never a fan of the on screen character but I can admit I was wrong. He’s so great at building and putting over other talent. Blindy was right all along. He and Randy are two guys that I’ve completely flipped on the older and wiser I become. I was so happy to see Orton return after a year and a half away; looking as yoked as ever.

It’s a great business move for the WWE. It’s no secret that AEW is a bunch of Indy “legends” who were always going to be jealous of CM Punk because he became bigger than any of them. Sure Punks a POS too, but nobody gives a shit what the Young Bucks say/do.
Nobody does a return debut like CM Punk. It’s money.

I do think Bryan Danielson is as big of a name as CM Punk and Adam Copeland is a bigger name. IWC marks say Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are too but I don't agree.

I for one am happy to have him back in WWE. Despite what went down in AEW I still love Punk so I’m happy that he’s back and gets to end his career on a positive note.
Great show all around imo, very happy to see Orton back too.

Happy for @wms/Wise Men Say wherever he is. Let him have his moment here. I wish I could love this post rather than just like it. Hi everybody . It’s been a minute. My browser kicked me out like a year ago and I never bothered to reset my forgotten password until now. I’ve been reading. Telling myself not to post as there was moments during the whole Punk saga where I wanted to tell people to touch grass - then I reminded myself to go touch grass and leave it. Naturally, I’m overjoyed. Woke up for a piss 5 this morning and through bleary eyes checked my Twitter. First post I saw was Riddle’s tweet then scrolled down further and woke my girlfriend up from yelling with excitement after playing the video of his entrance and monster pop. It’s no secret I’m biased towards Punk and love all his work, he’s been my fave since I discovered him on The Wrestling Channel when I was 12. “Who’s this dude with the Pepsi tattoo doing a top rope pedigree?!” He has some major character faults. He’s loyal to his buddies but can turn on you for some weird reasons and once he turns, he’s the biggest enemy you’ll have. I was gutted how it worked out in AEW. The injuries, the frustrations, the fights and the fallout. I wish it could have all worked out. I love his work there, his matches and promos and some of his storylines. He could have acted better in many situations. At the same time, those around him and on the opposite end could have acted better too. In the end, it was best he got out for everyone. AEW lost a lot of money losing him and losing out on stuff with Omega, Hangman and The Bucks which would have ultimately made money for all involved and elevated all involved and the company. Life is too short to work with those you conflict with I suppose. Hell has frozen over, indeed. Such a mark out moment. I have no idea how it’s gonna play out. The only thing certain about CM Punk is nothings certain. I hope Pepsi Phil has a happy ending and rides into the sunset. A couple of years of doing what he loves most - wrestle and tell stories. A Mania main event (albeit Night 1, hypocritical? Probably. But you’re a better man than me if you’ve not gone against your word or belief just once in life.) Program after program with exciting talent, raising their profile and adding more moments to a truly great in-ring career. A HOF induction and maybe a job as commentator or producer to wrap things up. I can’t wait for it all. Punk is the reason I still follow and love this crazy thing. The reason I showed a bunch of matches to my girlfriend (she’s a huge Orange Cassidy fan now. I joke she likes spot monkeys and doesn’t get me and my love of wrasslin psychology) and just someone I’m passionate about. Anyway, I’ve rambled plenty. I hope you’re all happy and healthy. Thank you for all being part of my teens and twenties. I’m 32 now and still reminisce of the old vBulletin board and all the great threads and posters. PW - best in the world.

We can all be grinches from time to time, but we all have a couple things in common throughout it all. We were young wrestling fans who discovered discussing it with fellow fans on an internet forum. I’m always grateful I grew up when I did. Can’t imagine missing out on a decade of laughs (and at time some wtf moments) on PW because I was tagging people on Instagram and Twitter instead!

This is the first PLE I've watched in a while, if I'm honest I don't remember the last one, maybe Mania. A friend was good enough to give a login for the network, I knew it was in Chicago so I thought I'd watch as I do like a good War Games match.
I enjoyed the whole PPV even though I'm not that familiar with the stories leading up to it. I really enjoyed Miz/Gunther, as time has gone on I do respect The Miz and the work he does, and this was great storytelling. I liked the ladies War Games, and loved Io's trash can spot, harking back to NXT. I will admit to marking for Randy Orton, that was really well done. As for Pepsi Phil, we will see.

I think another thing that could be good(especially for the older Women of Wrestler posters) is that AJ Lee may comeback to WWE TV, as a Hall of Fame induction. Not sure if they do it this year but I think the olive branch can be brought back between April Mendez & WWE.
A lot of people like Cora Jade, Roxanne Perez idolized Lee and in turn love CM Punk.

Thank you for all being part of my teens and twenties. I’m 32 now and still reminisce of the old vBulletin board and all the great threads and posters. PW - best in the world. Welcome back buddy 🫡 Ha’way the lads, Jake! Re: AJ Mendez, you’d think we will see April inducted into the HoF next April or the following year. Has to be on the cards now.

Locking in my prediction now, Paul will be the first backstage fight. Everything Punk hated about the Miz but worse.

I almost wish Matt Riddle was still around, especially with how much he was throwing fuel to the fire with that tweet last night. That would have been the easier bet to put forth. I still think it's AJ Styles albeit won't be physical. Punk threw Styles under the bus terribly during the BLM social media movement a few years ago, and AJ as forgiving as he is, won't be down with that.

Here is the thing with Paul. He brings money to WWE up front, whether he is on TV or not. Punk does not. Shit goes down, TKO will fire Punk and WWE will not get a say. After all the deals Paul is basically paying the WWE to work there. Punk cannot claim the same. May may get them value over time, but Paul is the only cash I can think of in the history of wrestling who put cash up front.
The great irony is, done right, could be one of the greatest feud's Punk ever done feuding with Paul, as Paul was a movie star, TV star, fighter, wrestler but nowhere near on the level of Punk. And since both guys legit fight, they can work catch. WWE do a red hot promo war, then a catch match with these two, people will absolutely swear it was real.
That said, I imagine if Punk is not main eventing WM in a match produced by Ace he loses his smile. I can see him already pitching himself as the one who takes down Reigns.

Straight out called him a racist. Reports are some people are definitely not ok with Punk returning. Let the games begin. Wonder who will get the blame in WWE. Khan would be a good guess. HHH too. Maybe Regal and the producers.

Maybe Regal and the producers. Tony Khan and the Young Bucks would roll out multiple red carpets to get AJ Styles in AEW to the point of embarrassment if it ever came to that but I think Styles is a smart enough businessman to just ask kindly "Keep me on the other brand and away from him and we're good, thanks".

I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like I wouldn’t find a backstage fight amusing after everything that happened with AEW, but we shouldn’t be sitting here making predictions and hoping it will happen. I hope Punk being fired from AEW woke something up in his brain and he doesn’t do that bullshit anymore.
I think he’s a piece of shit for doing what he did, and I think he is a hypocrite after everything he said about the WWE, but I still want to see him grow as a person and succeed. I will be really sad if he learned nothing from his AEW run.

Punk started fights in every fed he was ever in, why would he stop now? Only thing he likely learned is you cannot go after your boss. AEW was not the exception, it was the norm.
I just hope Punk pulls out his belt <.<
