I’m all for Roman/Rock but I feel like that was a terrible way to present it. Hopefully the match lives up to the hype and Rock doesn’t gas himself in 5 minutes or it could be a tough scene in front of that crowd.

To be fair, if Cody would have won and ended Roman’s reign, it would have been memorable.

If Roman ends another Mania on top, how will that be memorable? It’s the same outcome as the last 3 Wrestlemania’s except with a different opponent.

And you can’t just say Fuck Cody. He’s the biggest babyface in the company right now for a reason. Yes I think he’ll be fine in all of this but you have to pull the trigger with him at some point. This feels like Bret/Hogan all over again.

You know I’m not doubting that there is still a chance this becomes a triple threat match and Cody gets added to it (ruining everything) and walks out the champion.

I would much rather it stays Rock vs Roman and Cody winning the RAW title. Roman Reigns ain’t wrong when he says 1s and 2s and Cody even as the top baby face is only as good as a 2. Roman/Rock same level with each other. Bonafide 1s.

A lot acting like the Rock will be gassed or his body will give out 5 minutes in to a match with Roman, like the Rock is Gypsy Joe or Ric Flair at his "final match".😂

Cody is probably a lot like his dad, in that the chase for the title is more important than actually winning it. Looking back at Dusty's reigns, the longest he held the World title was 88 days, and the other reigns were a week or two at the most. Just hopefully, unlike with a few times with Dusty, they don't keep dangling the carrot out there too long, to where fans stop caring.

Does John Cena have a match coming?

I would really be down for one last Cena vs Orton match.

I took a rare trip to wreddit today. I was expecting backlash, but not 100% anti-Rock-Reigns posts. This Cody guy is more popular than I imagined.

Rock and Roman is the biggest match they can run. Rock isn’t getting younger and who knows when he will be available again to do this.

Cody’s promo was that he is going to take the title and everything from Roman, just not at WrestleMania. Roman passes Hogan’s reign on September 15th. And then I’d have Paul take on a second client while Roman is on one of his many sabbaticals. Roman comes back and is jealous he isn’t Paul’s only guy and has to beat the new guy. When Roman finally loses everything all about the end of Summer Slam and all he has left is his title….

PWInsider is saying this is even bigger than Rock headlining Wrestlemania, that he is making a play to take over creative control of the company in case Triple H is forced out due to his ties to Vince.

On top of that, Rock is politicking backstage trying to convince people he should win. If you want to read up on it SRS and PWInsider are both posting reports.

This is exactly what happened with Black Adam. He did all of this and more trying to take over control of the franchise and Warner Bros forced him out by hiring James Gunn.

There is a real chance here that TKO/Endeavour is fucking over Cody’s story just to put the focus on The Rock and the title to distract from Vince.

We need to comprimise The Rock to a permanent end....

Rock vs Roman is almost guaranteed to be the worst match in the history of professional wrestling.

And yeah, Rock IS gonna get gassed and he IS gonna get hurt. He got gassed cutting a promo earlier this year. He got hurt in BOTH of his matches with John Cena A DECADE AGO. He's older, slower, even further away from ring shape, and on even more steroids. He's not gonna do it. This match will either be short enough to broadcast on tiktok, or it will be a plodding nightmare. Either way it's a trainwreck, just one of the trainwrecks will be in slow motion.

Again if it's me, Rollins can rest up or at worst be in a triple threat with him, Orton and Cody for the title if Orton beats Rollins for the belt at EC and Seth wants his rematch clause be done at WM. Cody can win and Orton can taste the belt and slowly become a heel/tweener as he tries to torment Cody for that belt at the post WM feud.

If you had told me like 8 years ago that Stardust would be the person that would turn the people away from Dwayne Johnson, I would have laughed at your face.

Went to twitter this morning and it's like mourning someone's death the reaction of some folks seeing this. Why is the WHW seen as a downgrade, Cody Rhodes has never won the friggin' big belt. He's going to be the face of RAW, no Roman or Rock to take his shine away. Rollins hinted at this on the RAW promo, his belt is the everyday working man belt. SD has the "Hollywood" belt, he just masked Rock shade by saying that belt is for guys like Hulk Hogan to politic their way into. 

He can feud with GUNTHER or Orton or Styles or whoever the heck they can think of with the WWE Draft. 

The Rock doesn't need WWE honestly, WWE needs him. I think people are forgetting that. His involvement with the company is half love of the sport but also half a business tactic/handshake with Nick Khan. 

Because it is a downgrade. It was literally created because Roman isn’t there enough. In addition, winning that title isn’t finishing the story, Cody is on record saying this. His dad won the spiritual predecessor to that title, the whole point is his dad never won the big WWE title. People are entitled to be angered by this. It’s a two story that’s had the rug pulled in the last chapter.

I feel it’s increasingly likely there will be a tangible backlash to this that extends beyond social media and internet boards. We’ll see.

RAW is going to a new home soon, and he's going to be the face of a 3 hour show. It isn't a downgrade of a belt when the champion can elevate the belt with a worthwhile title run. While Reigns go off to vacay with his family and the like, Rhodes will be the guy on TV weekly defending the belt and carrying the company while still being treated as a big deal.

He is finishing the story by holding a big belt and being "the" guy which is why he left in the 1st place.

People act like he's winning the WWECW or NXT championship. 

I think it’s the circumstances surrounding how we got the match though. The WWE has been building to Cody finishing his story for over a year now and have gotten the fans 100% behind this story. Now they are pulling the rug out at the last second and asking fans to forget about that story and get behind Rock/Roman. I think Rock/Roman will be fine but you can’t build towards this huge story that fans want to see happen and switch at the last second without the same fans being upset about it. I get it. Getting the Rock for a WM match supersedes everything else and is huge but they could’ve built that angle up for much longer. If Rock did strong arm his way into this then I understand that WWE has no choice but to make it work. It just sucks that WWE has spent the last year telling me to care about Cody finishing his story only to pivot at the end.
