I’ll get the first one out of the way because it seems like a lock. With the first pick in the 2024 PW NFL Mock Draft , the Chicago Bears select….. Caleb Williams , QB , USC Fields is out and Williams is largely considered a generational prospect capable of turning Chicago and their QB woes around. They’ve added plenty of weapons around him and now it’s up to him to prove he’s worthy of the hype and the pick. DanTheMan and the Commanders are on the clock.

Monti O and J Ganz are chillin up in the desert seeing quarterbacks fly off the board before their pick, when suddenly the phone rings. By gawd it's Antonio Pierce! YO ZONA, the Raiders head coach practically yells down the line. WE WANT YOUR PICK. A lot of people don't understand how I even got this job in the first place, you really think I'm going through my first season with Gardner Minshew and Aiden O'Connell? NAH MAN. I talked to Mark D and he said do whatever it takes. JUST WIN BABY. So we're offering you our pick 13, pick 44 AND next year's second rounder as well, what do you say? Ossenfort and Gannon have both reclined in their chairs and have big grins on their faces, this was the exact scenario they were hoping for. They know their roster has more holes than a slice of swiss cheese, and were hoping to do a draft day deal to stock up on draft picks. You know I always liked you Pierce, you got yourself a deal, says the Cardinals GM. Enjoy that quarterback! DAMN BOYS, replies AP, y'all easy to do business with! If you boys ever made the trip over state lines hit me up and I'll make sure the two of you get VIP service down on the strip, ya know what I'm saying? Alright got to run, we gotta submit this card. DAMN. The Arizona Cardinals have traded the fourth pick in the 2024 NFL draft to the Las Vegas Raiders. And with that pick, the Raiders select Drake Maye, quarterback, North Carolina. UT the Chargers are on the clock

The Chargers lost a trade partner but fall right into an all time elite receiving prospect. I know Harbaugh would love to beef up that line but I don’t see how they’d possibly pass of MHJ if he was there. So with the 5th pick in the 2024 NFL Mock Draft , the Los Angeles Chargers select: Marvin Harrison Jr. , Wide Receiver , Ohio State A lot of people have MHJ and Nabers neck and neck as elite prospects but I think MHJ fits the Harbaugh mold a little more and is one of the safest bets in the draft. He and Herbert will have a decade of excellence together. The Chargers can address the offensive line later. @admin is back on the clock with the Giants. He only did that Maye stuff to endure he got Nabers or MHJ for the Giants.

With the sixth pick the New York Giants select Malik Nabers, WR, LSU. As UT alluded to this seems like a no brainer if he is available for the Giants. Nabers projects as a true WR1 which Big Blue haven't had since Odell. He'll give Jones/Lock a better chance of being productive this season, as well as being locked and loaded for the likely new QB of 2025. KING KID is up with Tennessee.

Best offensive linemen in the draft, mocks say this is the pick and HOT TAKE, the Titans find a way to finish the season with a better record than the Jags.

With the 8th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Dallas Turner, LOLB, Alabama. The Falcons are a prime candidate to trade out of this spot with a QB needy team. If they stay here, they have the opportunity to take the top defensive player in the draft. They’ve done a good job at upgrading their offense but what they really need is an elite pass rusher. They have Grady Jarrett but he is coming off an injury and will turn 31 next month. Turner is arguably the best defensive player in the draft and is someone you can build the defense around. Your pick UT

Okay last one for the night for me. With the 9th pick in the 2024 PW Mock Draft the Chicago Bears select: Rome Odunze , WR , Washington I don’t want to hear about Keenan Allen. This is 2024 and you need weapons and especially so when you’ve got a potential franchise quarterback in the same draft. Allen isn’t getting any younger and isn’t always the healthiest - he could be gone in a year and you’re now setting yourself up for the future with Moore and Odunze as weapons for Caleb Williams. As a Packer fan I’m hoping this doesn’t happen as I’m a big Odunze fan but it’s in the Bears best interest. It would have been a little tougher choice if Turner hadn’t gone to Atlanta but I still probably would have leaned this way regardless. Blindy and the Jets are OTC.

With the 10th overall pick, the New York Jets select OT Olumuyiwa "Olu" Fashanu out of Penn State It's tempting to get a playmaker and there's certainly one there and given the recent Jets moves of Morgan Moses & Tyron Smith, I am content if we don't go OT. However, after last season, you cannot have enough lineman and given both Smith's documented history of health(In addition to being on a 1 year deal) and Morgan Moses being 33, you have to have a gameplan if/when one of those guys go down. Jets might be high on Carter Warren and Max Mitchell but you have to have a plan for the future and drafting Fashanu is that. It's a tough sell to fans that Fashanu may have to sit a little bit behind those 2 OTs on what is a win now team but if someone goes down, you are going to be happy to grab arguably the most gifted pass protector in the draft. Fashanu is NFL ready as a pass protector, he just needs to bulk up and get stronger on run plays to step it up to the next level. Reminds me of D'Brickashaw Ferguson for the Jets and if you get that for the next 10+ years, you're a happy camper. Conklin is highly underrated and Rodgers can still find ways to get guys open to succeed but what he can't do at his age and off the major injury is make guys block better in front of him, quick ball release or not. Stack up OTs and take playmakers later in the draft. Minnesota Vikings OTC UT

With the 11th pick in the 2024 PW Mock Draft , the Vikings select: Jared Verse , DE , Florida State If by some hilarious miracle the Vikings get caught flat footed on a trade up and they get stuck here , Verse would make all the sense in the world. They lost Hunter and though they have some decent players on the line - Verse would provide them an every down end with big upside. KING KID is OTC with the Broncos

I'll give you a prize if you can name anyone who played corner for Arizona last season. They need bodies all over their defence and Mitchell is a super athlete who could be a real playmaker.

With the 14 pick, the New Orleans Saints select Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State. Oh thank god one of the top OT’s are still available. I was always going to go OL with this pick but with the Ramczyk news this morning, it is even more crucial. With Trevor Pennig shaping up to be a bust and Ryan Ramczyk’s heath concerns, the Saints are in vital need of OL help. Because they have limited cap space, they will need to dip into the draft to replenish the OL that’s been a strength for a long time. If they don’t find talent quickly, this could be one of the worst OL’s in the NFL. It was a toss up between Fuaga and Latham but I slightly prefer Fuaga. Honestly, I’d be happy with either guy here. Blindy and the Colts are up.

With the 15th overall pick, the Indianapolis Colts select TE Brock Bowers out of Georgia Colts end the fall(semi?) of arguably the best remaining talent in the draft as Shane Steichen who knows the importance of TE usage, dating back to when he had Ertz and his successor, Godert in 2021. There might be other primary needs for this team but the talent and BPA makes too much sense, Bowers is a WR trapped inside a TE body and becomes a massive mismatch as he joins Pittman/Downs/Taylor to be a good-great supporting cast for AR5 and/or Flacco. Mo Allie Cox may be a respected locker room leader and Jelani Woods is a freak of an athlete but Bowers is such an upgrade, they can't turn him away. Seahawks OTC @admin

The Seattle Seahawks select Troy Fautanu, Offensive lineman, Washington This is a commonly mocked pick because it just makes too much sense. Damien Lewis signed a big FA deal to move to Carolina so they have a hole at guard, and Fautanu played under Seattle's new OC Ryan Grubb at Washington. UT is up with the Jaguars

With the 17th pick in the PW NFL Mock Draft the Jaguars select: Terrian Arnold , CB , Alabama Some think Arnold is the best corner in the draft and the Jags are happy to see him fall here. With no receivers or linemen here I love for them Arnold just makes too much sense to help shore up a secondary that has struggled mightily. Blindy and the Bengals are OTC.

With the 18th pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select DT Byron Murphy II, Texas So the Bengals have to address their trenches, both defensively and offensively. I think Trent Brown signing can sort of ease Cincinnati up where they aren't forced to take OT5 with who went off the board where as they can pounce(pun intended) on the best ranked DT of the draft. Murphy doesn't have the beef that DJ Reeder had for them before going to Detroit but a combo of him, Hill and newly signed Sheldon Rankins(On a 1 year deal) should hold the fort of preventing the run, especially with King Henry, a returning Chubb(Maybe) and Najee Harris/Justin Fields(?) all in that division. The BPA and talent is too good to pass up for the Bengals here, gotta shore up the DLine. LA Rams up @admin

Rams select Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
I might have gone cornerback with this pick had it come up yesterday, but the Rams signed Tre White today so let's consider that need addressed. Obviously Aaron Donald's retirement leaves an unfillable void, but let's try and pair last year's uber value pick of Kobie Turner with another young stud who can rush the passer. Plus he's a local!

With the 20th pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select JC Latham, OT, Alabama Most mock draft I see have the Steelers taking an offensive lineman so I picked the best available. The Steelers didn’t do much to upgrade their OL in free agency so I expect them to address it in the draft. I wanted to go WR here but this is a deep WR class and Pittsburgh has always done a good job of developing WRs so picking up one later in the draft makes more sense. RT and Miami are up.

The Eagles select Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson. Philly’s defence completely fell apart down the stretch last season, and while they’ve got CJGJ back in town, they need some young blood to go along with Bradberry and Slay on the outside. Wiggins has elite speed and could be a key to turning around a secondary that allowed the second most passing yards in 2023. UT

With the 23rd pick in the PW Mock Draft , the Vikings select Johnny Newton , DT , Illinois Still not taking a quarterback , if this were to happy to Minnesota I think they’d be much better off building up their team and defense to compete and look at a quarterback later or next year. I like Penix but I just don’t know that he beats out Darnold this year anyways. I like Newton better than Murphy as far as DTs go and they solidify their defensive line with this draft. Dallas and Blindy with the next pick.

With the 24th overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys select OT Amarius Mims, Georgia With the Tyron Smith loss, Dallas despite taking Tyler Smith recently in round 1 and resigning Terrence Steele, still have a pressing need for an OT and to protect Dak in what's a make or break year for him. Dallas due to cap limits and get this, Jerry Jones being a little frugal have a few needs but OT has had a run this 1st round. Mims is raw, had 8 starts in college but as Enzo Amore said it best when it comes to size "You can't teach that". Has the makings of a very good RT in patience is shown and given who is ahead of him, Mims might even have a shot to impress out the gates. Health is a bit of an issue with Mims but he should be a 1st round lock this April unless the medicals come up with something severe. It's white boy summer in Green Bay UT

With the 25th pick in the 2024 PW Mock Draft YOUR GREEN BAY PACKERS select:
Cooper DeJean , DB , Iowa
It’s the easy pick after I declared my love for him and I would love if this is how it played out of draft night while also being nervous that they’d pass on him for Barton.
DeJean though just seems like a perfect fit for a team that has multiple holes in the secondary at positions he seems more than capable of playing. He not only fills major needs but he nailed his workout and exceeds all of their RAS qualifiers for players.
I wouldn’t have a problem with Barton and he would have been my choice if DeJeans off the board. He was born to be a Packer offensive linemen. His size, athleticism and versatility are exactly what the Packers look for in a linemen and we have serious depth needs on the line and possibly a starter.
They absolutely cannot pass on DeJean though.

With the 27th pick the Arizona Cardinals select Brian Thomas, WR, LSU This is the dream scenario for Arizona in my opinion, trading back and addressing two positions of need in the first round rather than sticking at #4. Perhaps he is not MHJ or Nabers in terms of being super well rounded with YAC ability and a full route tree, but it was Thomas not his Tigers teammate who lead college football in receiving touchdowns last season. At his best Kyler Murray showed that he could be an elite deep ball passer, and Thomas would be perfect to unlock that again, allowing Michael Wilson to settle into the WR2 role he seems ideal for.
