It's finally(or mercifully) draft week so lets get this thread out right about now....
This is the time of the year that smokescreens galore which is always amusing and even some character/football assassinations with the good ol' anonymous scout chatter about _______ _______.
Think I will try a a mock draft in the coming days, usually I barely get anything right but it's always fun to try nevertheless.

Most mock drafts I see have Olu Fashanu falling to the Saints so I’m preparing myself to be let down when he goes in the top 10.
I always get excited for the draft. One of my favorite times of the year.

Hoping to do a final Packer mock and maybe a full two rounder.

No idea what the Texans will do. I think they think it’s a poor draft outside of quarterbacks and receivers and that’s why they were happy to drop back and load up. Hopefully we find some gems.

I would say poor is pretty inaccurate. It’s really good on the offensive line as well - especially early and I love a lot of the secondary prospects. It’s really only weak at linebacker and edge rusher IMO.

Forgot about RB and TE.
Strong disagree on the safeties though. Even aside from DeJean who could be classed at corner I’m a huge fan of a lot of guys.
Hicks Bishop Mustapha Bullard Tykee Smith DTD Oladapo
All I can see being starters or contributors from Day Two and that’s not including Nubin or Bullock.

I've got a few predictions I'm just going to throw out there:
1) Atlanta don't draft a defensive player 2) Raiders trade up for a QB 3) Brian Thomas goes in the first half of the first round 4) Marshawn Kneeland is the unexpected first round pick 5) Brandon Aiyuk gets traded

The class is very much backloaded where it would be a shock if one of these guys go in the 1st 2 rounds but this group might go in drones from rounds 3-5. Jets I hope grab one of these guys on Day 3 for instance. That's why I didn't put it with the stronger groups. I also like Kinchens(Miami FL) for the safety, he's like a heat seeking missile.

I like all of those actually. Think every one is plausible. The Atlanta one is the most iffy. I’ll say I don’t think it’ll be Turner. I think it’ll be Mitchell or Murphy.

Not biting Atlanta going for a QB so I like the wildcard of Quinyon Mitchell being the 8th pick.

I think the most value in this draft is 33-90 … it’s why I’m fully on board with the Packers trading back and getting as many Day 2 picks as possible. I would say there’s a fairly deep drop off after Round 4 though there’s a few gems I like.

Seen a smokescreen of saying they love Penix in round 1(or round 2) and it's because Cousins is old and coming off the torn Achilles. Too bad they don't have KING KID at GM, he'd for sure find a way to draft him, even if it has to happen twice.

Yeah I like this class a lot in the later rounds too, feel like there's good OT's or WR's available in round 3 that fall just due to the sheer amount of guys in each's group.

Yes I did mean first round. People seem to have been convinced from the start that they would be the first team to take a defender so I feel like it won't happen. Are we that sure that they wouldn't be interested in Odunze or Nabers if one of them is still there at 8 just because they have Mooney and Rondale Moore?

Barring trade ups, I think MHJR/Nabers/Odunze go 4-5-6. Of course a trade up will spoil that but I think Giants get the final big 3 WR.

I just think they need defense more than anything, especially with a defensive coach now in play. I think they are a prime trade down candidate as well. Someone like Jacksonville getting up to get Odunze and then they can get better value at 17 for a defender whether Murphy falls or it’s Newton/Dejean/Verse/Arnold.

It looks like they're going to lose a pick for tampering with Cousins, so trading out of #8 might be a way to balance that out.

Vikings going to get their guy no matter what, good point about the ammo they may get from the tampering. Just depends on when that happens, probably future ammo because it's kind of shitty to dock a team so deep into the draft process.

Best case scenario for the Falcons would be Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy falling and they trade with the highest bidder of Minnesota, Denver, LV.
For some reason, I see Jerry Jones doing something stupid in the first round and draft Xavier Worthy even though they have a bunch of holes to fill elsewhere.

They are set for the next decade. Honestly no offense but I think the Saints have become the most boring team in the league. Like there is nothing they can do this draft that will make me care. What happened man? Imagine both Minny and LA trading into the Top 4. 1. Caleb Williams 2. Jayden McDaniels 3. JJ McCarthy (to Min) 4. Drake May (to Oakland)

Dallas have about a good a track record as any team with their first round picks in recent years to be fair. They do have a lot of holes for a perennial playoff team (o-line especially) but WR2 wouldn't be the worst thing to address.
Since the Saints were brought up, them drafting a tackle is surely one of the strongest position/team locks right? Ramczyk's future is up in the air and they basically gave up on Penning last season.

Cowboys would do better to focus on OLine help, whether interior or OT since they seem in on Tyler Smith moving inside and the Cowboys probably not putting all their eggs in the Steele at LT basket. I took Mims in our draft, he'd hold RT down for the team. Not sure if he makes it to them. Depends on how the Cowboys view Tyler Smith and if they think he's going to hold the blindside down or not.
I think the Cowboys need an intermediate WR more than anything, Lamb and Cooks can get open and get down the sidelines but you want someone who can convert in the middle. I'd say TE too but this class again after Bowers is hit/miss.
RB is a must too, just a matter of how high the Cowboys are going for that.

Probably but I could also see defensive line. Would probably depend on who’s there. Who cares though. Derek Carr is their quarterback.

As someone who watches every second of every Saints game, we are boring as fuck. The problem is they tried to stay competitive after Brees retired bc we still had Payton and a top 5 defense. Then they double downed after Payton left and made some head scratching moves that buried our salary cap for the foreseeable future. Trust me, morale of the fan base is as low as the Pre-Payton days and most of us just want a total rebuild at this point. Things will not get better until Loomis is gone. I think ownership is afraid of going back to the dark ages where the dome was empty so she is content with being mediocre and allowing Loomis and co to continue to kick the can down the road. It sucks as a fan of this team.
Part of me wises they’d draft someone like Penix just to bring some energy to this team but they seem tied to the hip with Carr.

AT Perry is going to make strides and be a breakout player year 2. Huge body WR. Had 2 tuddy game in his final game, Saints just need to put more faith in him. He's outperformed his draft slot 1 year in so far.

Yeah, the general consensus among fans and draft experts is OL in the first round and address the D-line in the second round.
