Eh, I don’t dislike Caitlin Clark. It’s the fans here that have this “Caitlin is perfect, Angel Reese is the devil” types that would spend more time hating Reese than was necessary.

Caitlin’s fine. I don’t think the hate she’s getting around the league is particularly surprising, when you’re hailed as basketball Jesus before you’ve played a pro game there’s going to be resentment.

I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with competitive women being competitive. Men do shit like this to each other all the time and nobody’s too offended.

Reese brought it on herself by mocking Clark in the tourney game and being super passive-aggressive anytime she's talking about Clark. Comes off super fake.

I do think it's bush league to hit someone behind their back and then not want to pick them up nor address the issue, it's lousy sportsmanship. But yeah you're right, this happens in men's sports all the time but it's crazy to do this to some 21-22 year old rookie who hasn't done anything vile or wrong. Tough love is one thing, this is too much IMO. These antics happen in like every other game, this isn't a 1 off.

I saw Whitlock mention this a week ago, I don't know if I can agree to it since Clark has/will make far more money than Robinson ever did and the # of hate didn't come from just players for Robinson, it came from the paying customer/fans. There’s one reason people are treating her like this, and it’s the hero worship happening for her on a level above anyone who has ever played in the WNBA from the media and her frenzied fans. The same ones who whine when she gets the You Can’t See Me in her face but celebrate when she does it. There are plenty of white straight female basketball players that are getting along fine.

Now if you want to say that the hero worship only comes because she’s white and straight, then you definitely have a point…

I think she's absolutely being targeted because she's a middle American white woman that has the capacity to dominate a league where predominantly black women have dominated.

Race has 100% played a factor in both the good and bad.

Someone who brought very similar levels of diversion, Tim Tebow never got this level of detest ever among his peers, at worst he got rookie hazed with his head being shaved like a monk or having players mock his Tebow-ing after a sack. This despite Tebow being openly religious/pro Conservative and the media trying to put him at one point as the face of not just college football but an attempt to make him a big deal on the pro level. 

and Clark is a better player in her league for the pros(so far) than what Tebow ended up doing on the next level.
