Someone I never would have guessed was in WCW or WWF :lol: The WWF Title was part of The J-Crown. Ie; a tonne of belts. The WCW Title was won at a NJPW event, he was also it's inaugural champion.

Someone I never would have guessed was in WCW or WWF  Otani worked the occasional WCW show as part of the WCW/NJPW partnership, but technically never worked WWF. I may get some minor details wrong, but here it goes... For a long time, the WWF Light Heavyweight Title was defended exclusively in Japanese & Mexican promotions because WWF just didn't care. Fast forward to 1996 when a bunch of Japanese promotions combined their Junior Heavyweight Titles together to crown a super duper Jr. Hwt. Champ. This was called the J Crown. The WWF Lt. Hwt. Title ended up becoming part of this J-Crown. You ever see that famous picture of Ultimo Dragon with all those belts? That was the 8 titles of the J Crown + the WCW Cruiserweight Title. Anyway, the WWF Light Heavyweight Title ended up on WCW tv during the Monday Night War. This was a major punch to the gut for us WWF fanatics. At some point WWF managed to regain control of their belt and create their own in house champion in Taka Michinoku, but Otani had already held the title by then as part of the overarching J Crown. I really wanna believe Baker got it from memory. I did! Well, memory + process of elimination. It was a hard one! =========== 2x ECW Tag Team Champion 2X WWE Cruiserweight Champion
