It was a really good match but what was up with the no-sell on the knee strike toward the end? Was it supposed to be a weak strike? It came across like Swerve just no-sold it.

That minor quibble aside, very solid match rooted in emotion and storytelling. Thumbs up from me.

Think it was just Bryan was wore down and could not get it all. So he did it more to setup the LeBell lock.  But he kicked out of the JML Driver earlier so it was kick out of all the big moves time.

Went to youtube and watched the entrances. Juice Robinson rules.

I have barely watched any pro wrestling in the past 5 years really. I was at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff two years ago and at AEW All In tonight.

Stadium shows are not the greatest way to watch pro wrestling, even if they can be fun. Not the easiest to really tell what is going on, especially when they are dazzling you with a needless light in the face.

On top of that, I might even go as far as to say that I hate the modern wrestling style. Every match on every TV show worked like it is Shawn Michaels trying to end the near 20-year-old streak in front of a stadium crowd. All the drama based on hitting a million big spots and kicking out of them.

To go even beyond that, I might even say I have completely lost my love of pro wrestling in terms of how it needs to be booked. Vince may have done the smart thing of making the WWE name the star, the selling point. Mania sells out a year in advance. They basically never have to do the right thing if they don't want to. Current WWE could put Shawn Michaels over Steve Austin in 1998. They don't have to strike while the iron is hot in fear of competition or losing appeal.

For modern wrestling, the overness of things, both in WWE and AEW, feels "artificial" to me for want of a better word. Fans cheering to show that they are "real" fans more than actually really caring about the characters and the end result. Basically, in terms of the jaded wrestling fan, I may be the poster child.

But Bryan Danielson won and it was great. I had not originally gotten a ticket but my friend had one available. It was pretty much the last chance for me to see Danielson live, which I never had, so a few weeks ago I said yes. I didn't know about any of the other stories going in or even care really. We got drunk and enjoyed what we could of a wrestling show from miles away. But I knew that Danielson's career was supposedly on the line and I, and the crowd, cared and wanted to let him know that we cared.

And it felt real in a way that no other response from the crowd did. The candle is flickering perilously but it is not out yet.
