Thursday Night
Patriots @ Jets - NYJ got a crucial win but still have a lot of room for improvement if they are going to live up to their hopes of being contenders this season. Losing Jermaine Johnson is a big blow, but they did finally see Will McDonald show up. Pats looked more like the team we expected in W2 with the o-line struggling to protect Jake Brisket and the receivers failing to get any separation.
Sunday Early
Giants @ Browns - NYG still suck but at least Malik Nabers is that dude. Cleveland snuck a win against Jacksonville and look like they will get their tackle pair of Conklin and Wills back this week. Fuck Deshaun Watson.
Packers @ Titans - A Matt Lafleur coaching masterclass brought home a W with Jordan Love sidelined, and it sounds like the QB has a chance to return this week - although that would rob us of a Malik Willis revenge game. Tennessee has absolutely remarkably lost both games by the same score while committing a fumble, blocked punt and interception. So far Will Levis is failing the "is this our guy" test.
Bears @ Colts - Wounded animal game! Chicago's o-line was a disaster on SNF allowing Caleb Williams to be beaten from pillar to post by the Texans defence, while D'Andre Swift is averaging 2 yards per carry. Indy's d-line has been a big part of their identity but they have been gashed for 474 rushing yards already this season. Anthony Richardson had disappointing game with three interceptions, but Alec Pierce, written off by many, is sixth in the league in receiving yards.
Texans @ Vikings - It's usually the CJ Stroud show, but it was all about DeMeco Ryans' defence this week - Jalen Pitre hitting everyone like a truck, Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter eating the Bears o-line for lunch, Kamari Lassiter and Derek Stingley each with a pick. Oh and Fairbairn has six 50+ field goals! Minnesota are also loving life after upsetting the 49ers with a similar stat stuffing performance from Brian Flores' defence (featuring former Texans' Greenard and Cashman) and an iconic Darnold-Jefferson 97 yard touchdown.
Eagles @ Saints - Philly thought they were home and hosed on Jason Kelce knob slobber night until everything fell apart in a matter of minutes with the Eagles defence suddenly looking once again like the sieve they were at the end of last season. Now they've got to face the juggernaut that is the New Orleans offence who've put up consecutive 40 burgers. Carr and Kamara have been getting all the attention, but their o-line turnaround has been incredible. Yay John Benton and Klink Kubiak, boo Doug Marrone.
Chargers @ Steelers - LA are another team who are reaping the rewards of competent coaching and good o-line play. Joe Alt looks like a stud shutting down Crosby and Clowney in his first too games, JK Dobbins is running wild, and even Quentin Johnson is doing things! The Steelers are also 2-0, largely thanks to their defence suffocating opponents, so this might be the week they need Fields and the offence to start scoring some touchdowns.
Broncos @ Bucs - It's been a tough sled for Bo Nix so far, and he's not getting a lot of help from anyone else on the offence. The vibes are completely different for their opponents who snuck out a surprising win against the Lions, avenging their playoff exit. Baker is cooking with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, while Zyon McCollum and Yaya Diaby are making the leap on defence.
Sunday Late
Panthers @ Raiders - Carolina are a franchise in crisis, benching Bryce Young just two games into the season. They may well get stabilising play from Andy Dalton but this reeks of a HC who is already worried about his job security working for an unstable owner. Las Vegas had played six pretty bad quarters to start the season, but then caught fire in the second half to cause a big upset of the Ravens. The Devante Adams/Brock Bowers offence has some real promise, while Maxx Crosby continues to do Maxx Crosby things.
Dolphins @ Seahawks - Miami had the worst week possible, completely no showing against division rivals and losing their quarterback indefinitely. Seattle on the other hand are flying, getting their first real taste of what the Ryan Grubb offence could look like with DK and JSN both going over 100 yards.
Ravens @ Cowboys - Supposed contending teams losing in the same old ways. Baltimore lost yet another game after leading by double digits, something that has happened far too often in recent seasons, while Dallas had one of those complete no show weeks.
49ers @ Rams - The injury bowl - San Francisco's offence managed one week where everyone said "hey maybe they don't need CMC" before his absence was thoroughly felt, and now they're also without Deebo. Luckily for them, LA are truly the walking wounded with multiple starters on the o-line, in the secondary, and Kupp and Nacua all on IR. Their season might already be over.
Lions @ Cardinals - It's obviously frustrating but if you're going to lose, doing so while doubling your opponent in yards is a "good" loss. And Aidan Hutchinson is already up to...5.5 sacks?! For Arizona, it was all about Marvin Harrison Jr, apparently not actually slow after all.
Sunday Night
Chiefs @ Falcons - Kansas City snuck another close win against one of their big AFC rivals, but a lot of the positivity from week 1 kinda evaporated. Mahomes played poorly, Pacheco fractured his leg, and LT Suamataia is suffering some unsurprising growing pains. But also how the turn tables for Kirk Cousins - written off as old and immobile, he suddenly led one of the most memorable game winning drives in recent memory to shock Philly.
Monday Night
Jaguars @ Bills - Jacksonville seem to be heading towards a tipping point, an offence that not too long ago looked like it was ready to become one of the league's best has gone in the complete opposite direction. They still can't protect Lawrence, he still can't overcome it, and they look totally disorganised and poorly coached. It won't get any easier against Buffalo who have started the season perfectly, barely breaking a sweat against Miami - James Cook exploding with 3 touchdowns and the defence completely throttling Tyreek and Waddle.
Commanders @ Bengals - winning a game without scoring a touchdown is very on brand for Washington, but through two weeks Jayden Daniels looks like the best rookie QB and that's a big win in itself. Cincinnati looked much better in Week 2 with Joe Burrow putting waterbottlegate to bed, but the pressure is really on to take care of business here and avoid falling to 0-3.
