I really wanted to get that Week 9 bomba of Texans/Jets on Halloween(I might have to watch that dressed up, god help any trick or treaters who come to my house around that time, Todd I better be in a good mood or the trick or treaters will feel my wrath) as far as starting parties go but man Sam Darnold is dicing the Rams up good huh? I'll let someone get the honors of the Halloween themed Week 9 party next week. Anyway 2 Alabama QBs are both making their returns to the lineups in Bryce Young and Tua Tagovailoa. Some may say it's pure coincidence or happenstance. However, Andy Dalton got into a car accident where he and his family and thankfully good but he is still nursing a busted thumb so somehow, someway Bryce Young is back at it for the woeful Panthers. Might as well see if the time away from starting helped Young or if he is truly an undersized, lost cause. Would be a mega swallow of pride for Tepper to give up on Bryce Young if so. I am actually rooting for Bryce Young to show something out there because he was god awful to open the year, like really, really bad levels of ineptitude. Tua season is back at South Beach and despite a ridiculous amount of concussions, he is still refusing to wear the Guardians helmet that has been scientifically tested to help prevent head blows/concussions. Regardless of how you feel, Miami fans saw full well how bad of a backup QB situation the Dolphins have and to save the season, their former Alabama QB is going to be thrown back out there to get Hill & Waddle and mostly that offense rolling. Jets play the Patriots if anyone cares, anyone going to join me in watching that this Sunday?

I have the game on mute, why was that a safety? That was a 15 yard facemask penalty? I don't understand?

x.com/JJWatt/status/1849649355835490646I really feel like officiating as a whole has hit rock bottom this year altogether. I am just glad a lot this is happening on national TV. You don't have to watch much as a back judge, just blatant holds and the impact of a QB. It's dead smack in your face, how can you not see that?

That’s really the type of thing instant replay should be able to fix on the spot. It seemed pretty obvious live.
The Vikings weren’t driving 80 yards anyways but it sucks for the excitement of the game.

It was classic NFL to have numerous dubious flags thrown on the Vikings secondary only to miss that blatant facemask. "Not reviewable" has never made any sense, especially on a facemask which isn't subjective.
Minnesota will have to hope that Darrisaw's injury isn't too bad, they looked a completely different offence with him out in the second half.
Rams are obviously a entirely different proposition with Kupp and Nacua back. This probably takes Kupp off the trade block with the NFC West wide open.

They’re #1 in defensive DVOA and almost twice as effective by that metric as the second placed Texans. I think they’re an excellent defense.

They’re #1 in defensive DVOA and almost twice as effective by that metric as the second placed Texans. I think they’re an excellent defense. Propped up by early games. They are allowing 28 PPG over the last 4 games and that’s including the Jets embarrassing offense scoring 17 points. Which proves my point, the deeper in the season we go the more their defense is exploited. Hell the Packers score 29 in a half against them and missed 2 field goals that would have made it 35. DVOA is a fine metric but doesn’t tell the current story of their defense.

At today's press conference with the New York media, Aaron Rodgers was candid and direct, offering a series of suggestions that he believes could help the Jets turn their season around. “There’s something not working with the offense," Rodgers began. "It’s nothing personal with Hackett. I don’t think we need to fire him—after all, he laughs at all my jokes and emphasizes all my messages in the team group chat." He paused. "But I do think it might be time for him to step down as OC. Maybe hand the play-calling duties over to someone else. Just spitballing here… maybe me. Hackett could stick around as, I don’t know, the ‘Day-to-Day Creative Consultant for QB Humor Acknowledgement.’” As for roster adjustments, Rodgers didn’t hesitate. “I’d like to bring back Randall Cobb. That’s the only roster change I’d make. Well, maybe also Bakhtiari. And maybe Jermichael, BJ, A-Jones, Hawk, Marcedes, Grant, Bulaga, and Clark... Eight of those would be fine.” Rodgers even ventured into aesthetics. “That shade of green we use for the Jets logo? I’ve never been a fan. We should go with something lighter, and maybe add a complementary color... yellow, perhaps.” He wasn’t done there. “And the logo itself, it’s a bit much. Do we really need to spell out ‘Jets’? How about just a ‘J’ on the helmet? Or maybe a ‘G,’ for ‘Great Big Apple,’ as a tribute to NYC. And maybe we move the stadium from Jersey to Milwaukee. Just throwing some ideas out there.” - Blindy

Both Adams and Davis out and Chuck Clark is on the short term IR so this means the duo of Jalen Mills and Isiah Oliver will be the safeties today for NYJ. Buy into Hunter Henry, if Maye and co. are smart, they go to Henry at will on offense after Stevenson.

With today being the "National Tight End day" expect this to be shoved down your throat for all commentary, especially if you get Greg Olsen for a game today. This is more of a warning to the new fans of NFL.

Pats get away with a hold on the Stevenson run but yeah Maye is running all over NYJ, good plays by him. Jets defense had a terrible containment issue with 2 guys running into each other that allowed Maye to go for 20 yards on ground.
Just a mess. All year too, this is not a post Saleh issue.

Adams got his shirt completely yanked off before the ball even got to him and no call. I hate to sound like Rags but cmon. Lets be fair with the calls.
2nd time, Adams gets the call. The 1st one was a way more obvious one but isn't called. Go figure.

I can tell how disgusted Rodgers is with Ulbrich. He didn't like not going for it on 4th and 3(Offside draw that didn't work that ended up being a punt at midfield sort of thing) and now Ulbrich calls a timeout with the clock dwindling down as Rodgers got the snap off.

Jets use all 3 timeouts in the 1st quarter now. I fucking hate how long Rodgers takes to snap the ball. I know why he has to look at the defensive signals but jesus christ.

Another pass int call on NE, this shit is unwatchable. This is the entire NFL Game now, rewarding falls and shit. This one is a good call but the Jets offense has been pass interference flag yardage this drive.

National Tight End day with a Conklin tough catch in a scrimmage of bodies for the TD!
Greg Zuerlein misses the XP, I think it is time to cut ties with him. Sucks but he is completely ruined this year.

Hope Maye is good but NE should play it safe and not throw him in, there's no need to risk the future like that. J. Jones can't cover Garrett Wilson 1 on 1, Rodgers throwing some A+ throws out there today.

Mayo has 2 timeouts and has zero want to push the ball from their own 20 with Brissett. Nonsense. THAT is what we call soft. So fucking soft. Brissett was your opening day starter. 1:51 when they got the ball too, cmon dude. AT LEAST pretend to go for 3 or something. Jets get the ball to open the half too. EDIT: Patriot twitter is roasting Mayo up. They've seen enough of him. Good reason too. I defended him vs UT but nah you gotta try and push the ball at the very least or something with the time and timeouts you have. Mayo spilling the beans and news to CBS sideline reporter that Maye is out is crazy, Jets should be ready for only Brissett now. Logical and smart move to not throw Maye back out there, not worth it at 1-6 and knowing Maye can play ball.

Just copy and paste my comments from previous weeks because they all still apply. The offense is bad, the defense rules, Bobby Slowik is useless and Kenyon Green ain’t good enough to play in the CFL.
Also Richardson is kind of terrible

Sauce Gardner with a terrible miss of a tackle on Stevenson and Pats take the lead. Absolutely hilarity. Ulbrich has yet to bring the same energy and coaching to open up the 2nd halves of each game.
