I would have been dead after one gassy episode. Death by a loud fart.
You didn't get any of it, yet it was all there. sly aren't they?
Pro gun- had guns to protect from home intruders pro life - conceived and carried through with a pregnancy even with extreme circumstances and the possibility to terminate the pregnancy. patriarchal- father was the patriarch of the family clearly. they all followed him and listened to him. he was sacrificial in his role as the traditional patriarchal role family prayer- family took part in giving thanks before the meal.
If they wouldn't have been pro gun the movie would have ended differently.
And if you couldn't draw parallels to Signs or Mars Attacks you were missing out.

I’d say moreover that I didn’t see that they were trying to make a statement on any of those things. A woman being pregnant in a fucked up world, guns, and patriarchy are prominent in a lot of movies and tv shows of this ilk. The idea that they’re trying to push an agenda is the one I’m arguing instead of just a suspenseful movie true to the world.

Murder on the Orient Express(2017) I was bored honestly. It was just so....british. haha. I don't know it just didn't click with me on any level. I can respect the acting performances but as a who dunnit it just felt flat. F+
A Perfect Getaway: I've seen this movie countless times but it's just so much damn fun. Timothy Olyphant just plays the coolest guy that ever lived. Everything about this movie clicked for me. When I first saw this movie I thought that the twist kind of made no sense given everything we had seen up to that point but watching it again they actually did a very clever job at throwing people off on what was happening. A-
Friends With Kids: I love this movie so much. It was funny when it needed to be but never really crossed the line into goofy territory. Then it was very serious when it needed to be. I look back at the scene where Adam Scott and Jon Hamm are having a heated argument at the ski cabin in front of everybody...damn that was good. Most of this movie just felt so real and I could really relate to it on a number of levels. Yes it falls into a few rom-com clichés but whatever. Seen it before of course but recently gave it a rewatch and I liked it even better on a second viewing.

Avengers Infinity War I feel like they will do some lame time travel thing, but for the moment, damn. Thanos went HAM in this film, very ballsy move to kill 1/2 the characters of, if that indeed is the case.

Infinity War left me in tears. Amazing film and the ending was one of the boldest moves I've ever seen. People were DEVASTATED leaving the theater. There was hardly any noise at all.

Just got back from Infinity War, hell of thing, hell of thing. Ok, we all know those deaths will be undone, probably entirely since it would have to be a IG action to bring them back, not sure if any will be unable to be resurrected...we know their franchises aren't going to stay dead, Black Panther just made a holy fuckton of money. But still, Peter crying in Tony's arm's made water come out my face. Thanos is BY FAR the best villain in the history of the MCU, depth, complexity, and he actually fucking won (for the time being), now the arduous wait for the A4.

Watched The Hitmans Bodyguard last night , it was on HBO and I love so Ryan Reynolds so I decided why not. It was fine , and I enjoyed it probably more than I should have because of Reynold wit and charm and just being there. Samuel L Jackson was still annoying but he played well off Reynolds so I actually enjoyed it a bit.
A few laugh out loud moments , I few eye rolling ones but I've certainly spent two hours of my life doing worse things. I think it'll end up being a pretty popular cable movie.

Den Of Thieves: It kind of feels like this is Heat meets Training Day but isn't as good as either one of those movies which isn't to say it's bad, it's actually quite entertaining. Gerard Butler given the right role can be a very entertaining actor and he was great in this. I also liked that everybody in the movie was a shade of grey, nobody was all the way good or all the way bad. Everybody had moments where they are likeable and also not so likeable. All in all this was a very entertaining heist movie. I give it a B-
The Shallows: Have seen this before but I had a free preview of Starz this weekend and it was on and yeah still holds up pretty damn good on second viewing. They didn't oversaturate you with the shark so when it did pop up every now and then it always felt like a big deal. Also Blake Lively in a bikini...enough said. I give this one a B+.

He was also Nick Sabotka in The Wire and half brother of Leiv Schreiber. He's done quite a bit of work but this was the first movie where I could see he was featured the most and in my opinion was second best only to Butler. Ice Cube look-a-like to me was kind of the weak link of the cast. I thought 50 Cent was better than him and 50 can pretty much only play himself. Which is fine though because he fucking crushes it in Power.

He was also pretty dope in 13 Hours. Truth. I still can't believe Michael Bay made that. He's done nothing but shit for years with nothing but disposable characters that nobody could possibly give a fuck about. Then he throws out this which was actually a really well made film.

Just some random thoughts about movies I've seen over the past month or so. I watched through the full Star Wars series on my 4K rig a few weeks back culminating in watching The Last Jedi for the first time. On this watchthrough I liked the prequel trilogy much more. The original movies are amazing of course, A New Hope has been butchered and looks like shit now but Empire and Return look really good remastered and these blu rays look especially good on my 4K curve/4K blu ray player(I was really blown away by how good the prequel trilogy looked). I didn't enjoy The Force Awakens as much on this go around though, but Rogue One is superb, just love the vibe of that one and how it fits what I always imagined the pen and paper Star Wars universe to look/feel like, plus the final battle of the movie almost brings a tear to my eye.
The Last Jedi I was kind of on the fence with it. I can see why it gets so much hate, it really was a big mess with a story that could/should have been so much better. But overall I enjoyed the ride, great movie to watch in 4K. Overall, these movies are the reason why I bought this whole rig and they did not disappoint, it was really like watching these in the theaters but even better because my living room is much safer and far more comfortable.
I watched The Crow on this rig earlier this week. Haven't seen this in a long time and man it still holds up just fine. What an excellent 90's action movie. Honestly I think this movie looks better on VHS with all the imperfections of tape video quality lending to the darkness and gritty feel of the movie.
And I watched The Wizard Of Oz on Amazon Prime with my little niece I believe Friday night it was. She was semi-interested in it. I really enjoyed it, this was probably the first time I've seen it since I was a little kid. I remember this movie used to really creep me out, those fucking trees throwing the apples, the witch, and those fucking flying monkeys! What a fucking great movie, if I could redo my pre-1950's top 10 I'd move this up to #1 on my list, everything about it is just magical, the visuals, the way all the characters move and talk to each other, the story, what a film. Crazy to think it's almost 80 years old.
And I watched The Bone Collector last night, 1999 movie with Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, also Ed O'Niel aka Al Bundy plays a minor role(Michael Rooker also). This was an OK movie that really just dragged on in the middle. This seemed like a movie that was probably better as a book.

Wife and I saw A Quiet Place last night. It was pretty solid. She loved it. Is this John Krasinski's directorial debut? I've got high hopes for his future projects if so. He seems to have that Clint Eastwood/Mel Gibson actor-turned-director talent.

3 Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri: I liked it. Performances were great and the movie was really good at giving you a left turn when you were expecting a right. I liked how nobody was pure good and nobody was pure evil, they were just human beings. I don't know if I'd call it best picture of the year but it was damn good.
Hostiles: Christian Bale is on point as always and while it was good, nothing about it ever really raises the bar and becomes anything memorable.

Deadpool 2 Hilarious film, though the kiwi kid was a really weak villain in my opinion, too much like Thor Ragnarok in that respect IMO. shame about the final end credit scene being cut from the film though, but the ones that were left one definitely made up for it.

Allure: Evan Rachel Wood has been in a lot of good things but I actually think this was her best acting performance. Totally fucked up movie that is uncomfortable, depressing, but very engrossing. Wood as the character Laura really checks all the boxes here. She's an unhinged, abused, abuser, predatory. She just did an amazing job with the role and she never played the character in way where even though she's doing some awful things, she was still just a person, not evil just horribly broken due to past trauma. It's well worth the watch. This will probably be on my top 10 list for 2018.
The Commuter: This was typical Liam Neeson being Liam Neeson...which isn't a bad thing because this film is a lot of fun. Nothing that is going to blow you away but it's consistent with what Neeson has been doing lately. My only real complaint was it was to obvious who was behind it all. It was obvious because there was no other reason for this actor to be in this film. Still though the movie moves along at a great pace and I was never bored.

Yeah Deadpool 2 was hilarious... I didn't think quite as much as the first one, but I still got quite a few laughs out of it. The Juggernaut actually looking like the Juggernaut, thank you. Though I half expected Deadpool to break the forth wall, and say something like... "That guy, well that guy is the Juggernaut bitch."
The mid credit scene(s) were funny AF as well, especially the Green Lantern one.
"You're welcome, Canada."
My 2018 Movie Rankings4. Tomb Raider 3. Black Panther 2. Deadpool 2 1. Avengers: Infinity War

Solo: very average film, that I probably won’t bother to see again but not terrible sans the forced feminist lines (despite not passing the bechdel test) and diversify quota . Had given up on SW after the abortion that was The Last Jedi, but my partner wanted to see it. Only moment I loved was Darth Maul cameo and stlll being alive now canon

Caught Deadpool 2, the action was great, the film was hilarious, Cable was awesome, Domino was cool, Peter is a modern icon, still think I prefer the first. Didn't really balance all the moving parts well, NTW and Yurkio are enitrely footnotes, and that kid is just the fucking worst. Just didn't have a focus like the first. Still great, wish they had gone another direction (the butthole kid direction rarely works out). But proper Colossus vs proper Juggernaut was amazing. Also, there was one low key joke I absolutely loved: Right when he gets back to Blind Al's...he opens the floor to expose cocaine and the cure for blindness. A brilliant callback in a passing moment.
