I see what the complaints are regarding giving Mike an origin story rather than just being evil, but didn't think Zombie's Halloween was all that bad. Plenty of titties for sure though. 🤯

How many movies are you behind? I call you out to watch Ready or Not or Knives Out then! Looked it up , Elizabeth Olsen and Ed Harris means I’m in. I’ll have a ton more free time starting in a week or so to binge some movies. UT, IMDb lists Ready or Not as a comedy horror mystery. Totally OK with two out of three of those. How horror-y is it?

Plenty of titties for sure though. 🤯There was no need to remake it to begin with so it had an impossible battle. Halloween is a milestone , a landmark movie , especially in horror. Just leave it alone and make your own movie with your own bad guy. I’ve said before if you take the name Halloween off that movie and I don’t hate it as much. It would be a decent little horror flick.

I mean it has elements but not super horror-y. It’s more about having a fun , fluid 90 minutes with small horror elements , hilarious comedy and brilliant writing. I’d say like 10% traditional horror.

Great rec 🤯 , really enjoyed Kodachrome. Predictable but satisfying and incredibly well acted. Elizabeth Olsen is a goddess , Ed Harris is king and Sudeikis showed some chops. Really wish I would have seen it before the road trip countdown so I could have gave it proper love on my list. Would be a contender for Top 5.

An shit you didn’t tell me this movie had the State Farm guy 🤯! I didn't know he'd be as much of a selling point for you too! I'd literally go "ALLSTATE GUY!" (-_-) every time he'd pop up on screen. Great rec 🤯 , really enjoyed Kodachrome. Predictable but satisfying and incredibly well acted. Elizabeth Olsen is a goddess , Ed Harris is king and Sudeikis showed some chops. Glad when I can actually connect with a decent rec. Ditto here on wishing I'd seen it prior to the road trip countdown. Honestly, I'd never heard of it until the other night when it was Nonna's choice for movie night.

"Assassination Nation"
-- If you're looking for satire you should look elsewhere. -- If you like "Heathers", it's similar but not even remotely close to being as good of a film. More like "Purge" with a motive than anything. -- Visually, it's awesome. Some great cinematography was wasted here. -- Speaking of wasted, they really missed the ball on some good social commentary here also. -- Joel McHale's here. Guess that's a plus? -- The characters are caracitures. -- The plot and dialogue are painful to the brain sometimes. -- Lol, some reviewer said "represents the dumpster fire that is 2018". Living in 2020 I "lol'd" so hard over that. -- You'll need a deep scrub for your mind, some good comedy or a trip to my Positivity Thread afterwards to lighten up the mood.
4//10, probably being too generous here.

Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition: Definitely better than the theatrical cut, a lot of context was inexplicably cut for theaters. That being said, doesn’t drastically change anything, just smooths some edges. I enjoyed the base version, so this was just a plus, still not as good as it deserved to be.

Peninsula (Train to Busan 2) Pretty cool concept and a lot of obvious parallels to the current situation. Force of Nature: Holy fuck this movie was dumb as hell and full of racial stereotypes. sandylea had a meltdown over a major plot hole also 😂

🤯 PI did you check out Ready or Not yet? Couldn't find it for free on Amazon, Netflix, or Hulu... So it's in the circle back queue. Got anything else in the meantime to try?

Hmm I wish you liked horror - I got a million of those. You seen Upgrade yet? Nope. Just read quick synopsis on IMDb app. Intrigued and sold! Just need to find a free stream. Prime is out... Checking Hulu and Netflix. Might have to wait until post-nap though. I'm dragging ass today like a dog who just had diarrhea.

Get on Upgrade. Came out the same time as Venom and arguably was the better Venom flick.
🤯 fuck the college fund. You think there's gonna be higher education in 20 years? We'll be lucky if there's an America.

Just in from seeing Tenet. Man what an experience - so glad Nolan stuck to his guns and wouldn’t let it be released on demand - it needs to be seen in the cinema.

Tenet: felt like an off brand Bond film to start with and the exposition is super heavy. I need to see it again, preferably with subtitles so half the dialogue isn’t completely drowned out and inaudible.

Such interestingly divisive takes on Tenet.
Would yinz say it's more like Interstellar or Inception?

It feels like an even more complicated Inception. And I actually agree with everything System said.

Bill and Ted: Face the Music-Honestly about as good as I could have expected and hoped for, not everything works, but it's a perfect callback and sendoff of the series. It might not be the greatest, but it's exactly what a Bill and Ted movie needed to be. Kudos.

Also, side note on Bill and Ted...I'm really glad that they often cast babies of different genders than they're playing, as the babies in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey were certainly meant to be sons, but as they're never referred to as such, and the babies themselves were girls, you can now instantly shut down anyone crying about changing sons to daughters...they didn't. Being daughters is officially canon with no evidence to contradict it other than the assumption that they were sons.
