I refuse to believe Tiny Lister and Gary Busey are douche bags.

My past job involved lots of celebrity management, so I'm just kind of used to it. Musicians, actors, athletes, etc. I wrangled them all (including lots of A-Listers). To this day it doesn't phase me, though I get the allure for others. What celebrity did you meet that got you the most nervous/anxious/excited/fangirly though? If nobody is an answer, what celebrity would make you feel that way if you met them?

Some years ago -- 5 maybe? -- Wife's dad got remarried (to a girl Wife's age) at Mar-a-Lago. Trump crashed the reception because I guess it's technically His house, so why not? He had zero interest in shaking hands with my father-in-law, brushing him aside to get a nice big full body hug on Wife's new stepmomsister. At the time I thought it was kinda neat I was seeing the iconic clown from the Apprentice in person in such a weird scenario. Then flash forward and he's our president, and it's like... Whoa.

Does he know her or was he just trying to grab the pussy? So bizarre reading that.

Those both would make me mark out.

Not sure you can answer that but thought I’d ask. You’ve mentioned a few over the years but I can’t remember any.

I'll hold back on the biggest names, but I think the two most fun folks I worked with were David Koechner (Champ from Anchorman) and Michael Strahan. Charming, fun and down to earth. Saw them each a couple times, and they remembered names, gave big hugs, etc.

So ...
I've accepted another promotion, and we are moving to California!
I've never lived West of my hometown, St. Louis, so this is a massive change for us. So excited. Not moving until post-holidays, but never too early to start planning!

Well boys it ain’t looking good for old papa RT. It’s been a roller coaster for him over the past year and the news a few months back that the chemo worked ended up being not as good of news as we hoped.
Long story short the cancer came back with a vengeance and it’s bad news all around. It attacked his nervous system this time and he started having seizures. The plan was to get him to a stable enough point that he could travel so he could go to Cleveland for some kind of treatment. Essentially they extract your T-Cells, do some science to them, then put them back and hope it works. The reason he was going to Cleveland is because the only hospital in Canada that does it disqualifies patients with cancer in their nervous system because the government won’t fund it. One of the few things wrong with universal healthcare: the government can just say no to you.
There are private clinics that will do whatever you want if you pay them but we’re not rich so we had to settle for the Cleveland thing because it would be covered. But that’s fallen through. He was supposed to head there this Friday but today they canceled the trip and sent him to palliative care. He’s barely conscious, still having seizures, and basically drugged to all fuck. His only chance now is if his bone marrow miraculously regenerates itself but that’s like a 1% shot. Doctor’s are assessing him tomorrow but my sister is an RN and she’s said to prepare for the worst and in his state he’s probably only got weeks left, of that.
I got this news as we were getting ready to celebrate my son’s 4th birthday with some neighbourhood kids so I put it aside and enjoyed my day. I’m traveling for work again this week and had to leave this afternoon, and while my kids don’t know what’s going on and it was a normal “I’ll see you in a few days, be good,” goodbye, it was tough and the anger and tears started about the second I left my driveway.
Anyway, I’ll be around as I like to distract myself however I can at times like these, but this one’s going to be different. Haven’t lost a close relative yet. Guess we’ll see how it goes.

Saturday was the seventh anniversary of my Dad passing from cancer (and ironically, KJ jr turns 4 this coming Friday).

It brings back the "like" conundrum we've discussed in the past. On one hand I see it as supporting a poster, on the other hand it's like... are you glad she's a decomposing corpse? LOL.

RIP dad.
Hung in there until about an hour ago. My mom and sisters were with him. I had just got off the phone with my mom after finishing work for the day. Just chatted a bit. Called my wife to check in and while I was on the phone with her my mom called me back.
He went peacefully. He was out cold and apparently opened his eyes for a second then that was that. At least he’s not in pain anymore.
Thanks for all your kind words guys.
