I've been going through a Conan O'Brien phase where I watch a lot of random skits on YouTube from his earlier shows. It didn't occur to me until I was watching them how pivotal Conan was to my high school years, I wouldn't consider myself a super fan or anything, but I would have caught a fair amount of episodes from 2003-2008 or so. I've been digging a little earlier and I find myself cracking up over the Little Stacey skits. Poehler is phenomenal in the role and she cuts some of the best Pro Wrestling promos of all-time. Her four horsemen in particular was my favourite.

Modern Family would be so much better if Gloria and Claire were naked the whole time.

Rags watching Leftovers started me on a rewatch. Such a visceral show. It’s a real wringer to watch the first season, but season two somehow is funnier but more intense all at the same time. Really enjoying it.

Started Watchmen the other night. We’ve watched 4 episodes and I’m loving it so far. Anyone else catch it? I’m excited to see what happens. The only thing that sucks about it is HBO not planning any future seasons since the show runner just wanted to do the one.

The Good Place with a beautiful series finale, after Mr. Robot, my favorite shows are really on a roll for going out on a high note.

Just finished episode six of The Boys, loving the hell out of this series. With two episodes left, I'll probably finish the show tonight, can't wait for the second season.

God damn it Showtime, after 7 seasons they surprised the showrunner, who was planning on the 8th being the end, by cancelling the god damn show. You've ran 7 seasons, just give them the fucking end.

Yeah little things flew over my wife’s head because she didn’t read the comic and doesn’t remember the movie. Like the police flying vehicle being modeled after Archie, and other things I won’t mention specifically because they’ll give away spoilers.

There was a few times where the characters made a big deal out of something or were doing/wearing something and reacting to it and I could sense her looking at me for explanation. :lol:

That show was a trip. I’m happy with it and think it was a cool extension to the comic, but I wish there was more. The cliffhanger ending makes me optimistic that they’ll do more seasons with a different show runner, but they probably won’t. Would be cool if they did it like True Detective though. Different characters/actors in the same universe. Don’t rush the seasons, just make it good.

Well I know the bigger episodes for comic fans were the Hooded Justice and the Dr. Manhattan ones and for me I was way more enthralled with the mirror guy episode and the finale.

Same here. I could watch an entire spin off just about Looking Glass. Tim Blake Nelson fucking rules.

Locke and Key day One episode down and it is REALLY good. Story is not entirely faithful but has the same feel and mode. Kinsey and Bode feel spot on. Dodge is terrifying. Tyler was changed into a Chad though and it is hilarious. House and Keys are beautiful with insane effects at times. New keys appears too.

Finished Locke and Key. Does most of the story with some changes. I assume what is left out is reserved for season 2. Covers Welcome to Lovecraft, Headgames, Crown of Shadows and parts of the other books.  Notably absent were the timeshift key and alpha key.

Season 2 will include the rest of the story from the comics most likely. It is likely most of the fight between Rendell and Dodge will be moved to the present in season 2.

Lots of changes to the story but the core story was intact and the characters all felt right.  Pacing is a whole better but some of the impact is greatly lost.  Tyler's arc took the biggest hit as the books find of about him coming into his home.  But Chad Tyler skips most of that growth.  Kinsey's arc is done well though and the focus of a lot of the show.  Bode is a lot more fleshed out too.

I started watching Locke & Key myself.

Got hooked into my 5th rewatch of The Wire, this time with closed captioning to pick up on some of the lingo I’ve missed. It’s just as good this time, as I’m through season 2 and still finding things I’ve missed. Such a dense show.

Not sure if people slept on it, but Hunters was mind blowing IMO. Pacino's best work. Funny it got review bombed by alt-right upset that nazis were portrayed as evil.

I am Not Okay With This was a super cute show. Cannot believe they kept the ending of the comic.

I'm on the second to last season of The SHIELD in my first watchthrough. Really love this show. Having now seen this (mostly) and the Wire, makes me wish we could do the cop countdown now as I've actually be able to really fill out the list.

Wife wanted to rewatch Magicians, and so I casually followed along. The ending to Season 4... Holy shit! Got me in the feels, somewhat unexpectedly.

Hulu now has most of FX’s series. It’s finally time for a Nip/Tuck rewatch.

Finally got around to Watchmen. Man that show was like the strangest fan-fiction, but I thought it really worked in the end. Some stuff could have been more fleshed out, but was not a bad show overall. Hope if they revisit the Watchmen world they keep the stories unrelated so they can do something equally as unique as again.

Just caught up on Better Call Saul’s excellent first half of this season. I’m really scared for Kim.

Just got to the end this last episode of the Magicians, caught a bit of the trailers at the end, thinking it was setting up for the season finale "The final episode." So yeah, I'm done watching Syfy shows, even their successful shows they have terrible history with cancelling late or without a proper finale, learning it more and more since they turned Eureka's final season into 1 single episode. Sounds like the showrunner structured it to function as a series finale just in case, so hopefully it's as satisfying as Eureka managed.

Wife is big into the Magicians because of the books. Rewatched all past seasons, using introducing me to it as her excuse, to get caught up for this one. We started into it, then she shares the news Syfy dropped it. Whatsupwitdat!? Between this and Face Off, Syfy makes some hella stupid decisions.

In the meantime, after quickly crushing Tiger King, we're alternating episodes of Dave and Breeders from FX. Both alright. First episodes for each were stronger than the seconds.

Yeah, that was workable a series finale, but definitely feels incomplete. God damn you Syfy.

Edit: And speaking of things that suck, Empire is now cutting out the last 2 episodes, and cutting in parts of the (partially filmed) 19th episode into the 18th episode to make it the series finale, rather than picking up the final 2 episodes later. Hopefully doesn't end up terrible.

Anyone else used to watch VIP? Like an updated Charlie's Angels meets Baywatch. As much as I was in it for Pam, the brunette and redhead weren't too shabby either.
