I’m surprised. The Chiefs said it was because he lied to them about what happened. Good on them for doing it, despite his value to the franchise.

Holy shit.   The Chiefs seriously  hurt their chances of making the Super Bowl here.  I hope the charges against Hunt are legit because if they aren't this is absolutely foolish.

Not really hypocritical. Tyreek’s has been more than a year earlier, he had been completely forthcoming, and paid a price for what he did in losing his scholarship and several rounds in the draft. Signing one person that had a DV case in their past doesn’t mean you have to hold onto every active abuser going forward.

Plus there’s the side parts of the story that are uncomfortable, like that she’s 19, that she says she was kicked out for refusing sexual favors, and the second story of him punching a guy in the face this summer. Some of her story may not be true, but Hunt lying about what happened from the start means the rest is possibly true too.

Hunt was added to the Commissioners Exempt List and was almost certainly going to get the 6 game suspension once the investigation is done. He wasn’t playing again this season either way. And his backup isn’t bad either.

I liked the Chiefs anyway, but they have gone further up in my estimation for moving on this as a matter of principle. Good on them.

Ray Rice was a diminishing back who knocked a woman out cold with a punch in the face. This video isn’t Ray Rice level and Hunt is a top five running back in the league and is under 25 so he will get another job after an agent gets him “support” or whatever it is these guys claim they need to not do that again.

I mean he is one of the most dynamic backs in the league... but much of the focus is a stretch. Mahomes arm has been opening things up for Hunt this year, not vice-versa.

I don't know , I mean releasing one while openly drafting another still seems off base to me. You want to make a stance against DV than really you should probably just leave all these cases alone. Same with Reuben Foster instantly being signed by the Redskins after being released by the 49ers. 

Hill probably shouldn't even be in the NFL , I don't care that he paid the consequences of losing his scholarship and probation. You use the word uncomfortable for Hunts story but Hills story was downright fucking heinous and borderline sociopathic. He strangled his pregnant girlfriend , held her down and repeatedly punched her in the stomach. I don't know how three months probation and getting kicked off his college team is close to serving time for that - he tried to kill his unborn child. 

And in the end he got as much punishment for someone who might of smoked a joint or two and didn't fall nearly as far as some who like to get high have gotten in the past. The NFL and most of the teams are full of hypocrisy though , don't be like Josh Gordon ... be like Tyreek Hill.

If your argument is NFL players should be allowed to smoke pot, sign me up.

But people who have been convicted of a crime, even heinous ones, once they’ve moved through the criminal justice system are free to pursue a career. Its not comfortable, I’ve made dozens of posts talking about how uncomfortable it is to cheer for a guy who did something that bad (worse than what Hunt did)... but the two situations aren’t the same. One happened while an employee, one happened while not. One happened paired with another possibly criminal event, the other didn’t. One was honest about what happened and faced multiple penalties, the other didn’t. If Tyreek had done what he did as a member of the Chiefs and obfuscated the team’s investigation and blamed the lady and not been fired I’d agree with you.

If you want to ban people who ever committed DV from playing in the NFL, I’ll sign on. But they’re not banned so guys with otherworldly talents are gonna keep being in the league no matter what they do.

  "AND" vice-versa, not "not." At the start of the season Mahomes was a nobody and it was Hunt was what was opening things up, teams haven't been able to figure out how to adjust to both, have to see if they CAN adjust to Mahomes without Hunt. You always had to bite a little on Hunt, which opens up those throwing lanes, then, even if it was a fake, you have to be cautious of Hunt on the pass.

Honestly I think it's for the best.    No need for the Packers to go on a big winning streak and save McCarthy's job yet again.   This way there will be some real change at least.

This has to be the game that leads to the firing of McCarthy. Need to win , at home against a 2-9 team and can’t move the ball or stop the Cardinals.

I worked some OT today so I missed the Bills game but from what everyone has said, the refs fucked them over and the special teams was horrible. But Josh Allen played well and the Bills probably should have won had it not been for the refs.

Assuming that’s all true, that sucks ass. Definitely out of the wild card hunt now and they keep Miami alive. Fuck.
