This is the Curse of St. Nicholas Foles.
First Lamar Miller tears his ACL. A few hours later Andrew Luck retires. Lmao.

Sad to see how Luck's career went. Had a great first few years, where fans loved him, and were calling him the next Peyton Manning. Then his elbow gets all fucked up, and he misses a season. Comes back, shows some flashes, but kept getting hurt to the point where he was never the same. And then today, the last image of his career was being booed off the field by his own fans.

Indy just booed Andrew Luck leaving after the preseason game. And Colts fans just officially replaced Eagles fans as the most classless in the NFL. Luck's career has been plagued by injury after injury. I can only imagine the pain he was in year after year, rehab after rehab. I don't blame him for retiring while he still has at least a little of his health left.

What the fuck
I don't know how to react. It is sadness first and foremost even though they're our rivals. In the short time I've watched this game, he's been one of the best - an absolute superstar.
Primarily sadness for Lamar Miller too. Texans should be ok, Duke Johnson is probably better, but awful for Miller. I like Miller, I feel like he's been in a poor situation with the Texans offensive line over the years and injury issues. But turning 29 on the treatment table for an ACL will probably finish his career as a lead back in the NFL. Hopefully he returns in some capacity though.

This Andrew Luck swerve is madness. What happened?
No Miller is big blow to this Texans team. They should fucking abolish preseason altogether I swear man.

Watching Clowney videos on my lunch break yesterday man I'm going to really miss him. I think it's another huge mistake losing him the way they fucked it all off, I think he's about to have his best years over the next year or two.

Rumblings that O'Brien wants a receiver as part of the Clowney deal. Wtf. Texans have a top 10 receiving corps (when all healthy, which, fair play, is never) and other huge needs.
Could the Chargers send Gordon our way? Is Clowney something they need?

I mean the booing is stupid but you've got to feel a bit for Colts fans. They labour though years of Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson completely failing to build any sort of decent roster, dressing one awful offensive line after another completely sabotaging their generational QB, and despite Chris Ballard and Frank Reich turning things around about as quickly as possible, the damage was already done and their window is closed as soon as it started to open.
Since we're also talking about the Texans here - the comparison between Luck and Watson's situation has already been drawn by many. Houston should take notice.

Luck was my favorite player. I feel so badly for him having to retire in this manner. Seeing Luck having his joy for the game taken away from him breaks my heart.

Yeah I don't agree with it but I get it , they literally went from one of the favorites to make (and win) the Super Bowl to being a meddling 7-9 team in a matter of seconds. Then again they were happy to watch their greatest player of all time walk away from the team for Andrew Luck after Mannings injury so - karma? Possibly. The news was shocking to me , I enjoyed watching Luck play but the same reasons I enjoyed him is a lot of the same reasons why he's retiring early - he was fairly reckless with his body both because of style and terrible roster management by Grigson.

Wore a jockstrap and still don’t feel bad for Andrew Luck.
Listen, from a human vantage point, the guy quit his job because he didn’t love it anymore. Major respect to that especially considering he had a high paying job. Good for him for being able to do something g else and still have money in the bank to keep his family afloat when he made his decision. STILL, there are plenty of men who go to work and dislike or hate their job but do it because they have to support their family. The dude was in a fortunate position to be a talented QB in the NFL.
From a warrior standpoint; fuck this guy. He gave up on his troops. Him saying that he didn’t want to share the field with guys like TY and not have the same passion for the game anymore means nothing. He gave up on his people who were counting on him to lead them to a childhood dream and hopefully be champions. He quit on those men less then two weeks before they go into combat. He should have sucked it up and went to war for one more season for these dudes when we were this close to the season. You want to quit? You quit at the end of the season. If retiring was on your mind for this long, you should’ve quit weeks ago and given your team a chance to completely focus their attention to their new leader Brisset.
This was a completely selfish move by Andrew Luck and I feel no pity for him being booed off of the field.

Except for signs point to the idea that the Colts knew this was likely for awhile now. You , I and no one else has any fucking right what an athletes future health and comfort means to them and Luck is genuinely one of the smartest dudes in the NFL.
The dudes torn his labrum , broken multiple ribs , ruptured his organs to the point HE WAS PISSING FUCKING BLOOD , concussions and now whatever is up with his calf or ankle. He’s already laid everything out there on the field for his teammates , he proved he’s a god damn warrior and took more hits in the NFL than any other quarterback and still was game. The idea that he owes anyone anything is a shit take. The only person he owes a thing to is himself and his personal future.

Which is fine if he retired a month ago. Instead, he sat there and watched his injury change from calf to bone to ankle to retirement. He let them know ten days in advance that it was a possibility. Nothing more.
It’s not fair to his teammates, organization and the fans of Indy INCLUDING ME who betted on them to win it.
Figure I lost $200 which is nothing compared to what some of his teammates will lose now because he’s not their leader.
He put himself in the public eye and knew what he was getting himself into. No excuses for retiring this close to the regular season. No pity from me.
He’s not soft. He’s just a quitter.

Again you or anyone else don’t really know shit about the exact timetable , nor do I but there is reason to believe the Colts seen this as a possibility for months now and they are the ones who told Luck to take his time.

There are several things I have heard.
1- That 10 days before he retired, he spoke to the brass of Indy and told them he has been seriously contemplating it.
2- He asked if he could go to Hawaii for 3 months to “heal”, but was denied the request by Indy brass which led to this decision.
3- That Indy knew for awhile, like you said, but told him to keep it a secret until season tickets were all sold so they don’t lose out hence him being allowed to keep his signing bonus.
3B- The Colts let him keep the signing bonus in case he changed his mind mid season or next season and did it to entice him to want to come back.
4- Or it could be that he just gave up and everyone loved him so much that they let him.
No matter what it is, the way he and this organization has handled his injuries has been super fishy.

Let’s make assumptions why she’s you ex wife based on no facts. Dakich is a wife beating womanizer who can’t perform in bed.

Listen, dude cost me money. So I can say, fuck that guy. Being pissed is fine , I’ve cursed the names of many players over bets. Completely assassinating their character based shotty reporting and assumptions is different. None of us know what exactly happened - but I’ll never be as brazen enough to think an athlete owes me something or didn’t give it everything he had. And to people who think he’s teammates might feel different , TY seems to get it and had an awesome tweet to him. And really that’s what should matter to Luck.

I can't fault Luck for his choice at all but I get it that the fans are pissed, they booed the situation so much as the player IMO. They were swindled of season tickets by shady management hiding this obvious fact and were sold on a product that isn't now as advertised. I didn't take it that the booed Luck so much as how this was all handled and that they were led on to buy into something that wasn't. The fans always are the ones who get fucked in the matter of season tickets/PSLs.
Unlike Gronkowski who gave the Patriots ample enough time to get his replacement via the draft or in FA, Luck didn't do such. I think the timing on his part was awful and was the only thing he did wrong IMO. It looks bad to bail when the team didn't have the time or ability to get someone else, this should have been done in the offseason especially since Indy has the money. How Gronk did his retirement should be the means to do it, same with Doug Baldwin. Pulling this in late August with the team clearly not having the means to address the QB position seems sorta shitty
BUT if Luck told them hey consider drafting a replacement I am not in it for the long haul, completely different story. We may never find out how soon Luck truly said he is set to retire.
This isn't a Chris borland situation who wasted a high draft pick of the 49ers after one season in the pros, Luck paid his dues and took his licks and produced at a great level. Patrick Willis and Calvin Johnson left sooner too, this game takes it's toll so I respect the players always and forever who do this craft even if I get pissed at poor play or guys holding out for the ____th time(Revis). When DBrick went to retire, I was elated over how much he did for the franchise and while he was and still is missed, he got himself in healthier shape and got to take his degree he earned at UVA to the next stage of his life.

As usual I agree with hr. Booing is a bad look, but they just had a potential Super Bowl team ripped out from under them so I would be bummed too. I don’t know if I’d boo, but I wouldn’t be standing and clapping either.

I got no love for the booing. The guy put his body on the line for those fans. You're mad cus you bought season tickets? What kind of spoiled fair weather marks are these people? You still got to back your guys who are still going to be there fighting it out week to week. I wouldn't be surprised if they still made the playoffs.
