I wouldn't be surprised if they still made the playoffs. Totally. The AFCS is a complete toss-up, I wouldn't be surprised if any of the four teams won it. Losing Luck severely dents the Colts aspirations to be a genuine contender, but I think they probably still have the best roster on paper in that division.

Interesting shit right here. If Clowney goes to Philly, they're front runners to win it all in my opinion.

And that's why I made him our last round pick in the keeper league! I recognize the poise, another Cutcliffe product. Matter of when Eli is benched at this point, he looked sharp vs the Jets and supposedly got even better. I didn't know what to say about the pick at the time besides maybe that he could have been had with the 2nd of the first round picks. Jets kickers are awful.....Jets need to grab someone worthwhile. Bertolet won't get the job done.

The Buffalo Bills have done it. They have released Shady Lesean McCoy. RTI had a feeling it was a possibility, but now that it happened, I'm shocked. As weird as it sounds. They're going with Gore and Singletary. Shit just got real. I could see McCoy heading to Houston or even the Jets as weird as that would be.

I expected it which is why I took Singletary, expecting big things from him this year.
Would not be shocked if Mccoy is going to Cowboys if Zeke doesn't return or Chargers if Gordon doesn't. Jets have Bell and Ty Montgomery.

McCoy was too expensive and I had a feeling he’d be gone this weekend. He still has some good games left in him and was a pretty positive addition to Buffalo (surprisingly) but at that price he had to go. Buffalo is actually taking this rebuild seriously.
From what I saw of Singletary in the preseason I think their run game will be ok. And they have Gore to come in for clutch runs if he manages to stay healthy.
That was another thing about McCoy. His age and injuries are catching up with him. He had an ok year last year but there’s no telling if he’d play a full season this year or not. I think the chances are pretty good he’ll hurt his hip or something again.

I really fucking hope he doesn’t go to the Chargers.
I’ve been stealing Melvin Gordon in the 4th/5th round in drafts and would like that to continue. Especially considering my HUGE draft is tonight.

I think we'll be in for him. He fits the one-cut style mold that butt chin likes. More of a direct replacement (albeit downgrade) for Miller.

Packers release Justin McCray today , pretty sure he could have fetched Clowney.
He’s not super well known outside of Green Bay but I’ve always thought he was a good player. He would be a good get for the Texans and can start at 4/5 line spots but is especially effective at guard.

Jets cut their THIRD ROUND PICK J. Polite. From this past draft. A fucking pass rusher. I know Mccagnan made that pick and he had a shit motor and bombed interviews but c'mon. He should have been given some time, Gregg Williams had to ok this pick and he is cut out of the preseason. You can't tell me Triple G wasn't asked about bringing this guy on board and teaching him up, not all on Mccagnan.
The Jets just don't know what the draft is all about. We don't know how to make quality draft picks.
I think even Idzik was a better drafter than Mccagnan. How.

Correction - we now traded McCray to the Browns. Good get for them.
Also Kizer didn’t survive the 53 man cut. Which I’m okay with. Boyle has outplayed him every step of the way.

The Chargers have given Melvin Gordon permission to seek a trade. Holy shit.
I think the Chargers are going for Shady McCoy, but where MG lands is going to be a huge deal. Tampa Bay seems like the best option but I don’t see it.

A best case scenario is maybe 49ers since McKinnon is once again our for the year.

Decent enough trade for the Texans. Serviceable RB depth while getting rid of one of the many failed mid-round OL draft picks of the last few years.
Weird decision for Kansas City to go after a guy that could barely get a snap on the fucking Texans offensive line but hey ho, maybe they see something from his college tape and think they can coach him up.

Probably the best they could get for Hyde and instead of just getting rid of him, they grabbed a body.

I don’t care what anyone says. Houston’s fucked.
You gave Clowney away basically for trash. Then you trade TWO 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder away. My goodness.
It’s win now or never for this franchise.
They just screwed themselves.

Tunsil is a pretty good tackle and Stills offers a deep threat even though they have Fuller to do that but that's alot to give up but that's what happens when a coach on the hot seat is allowed to make moves.
That Miami locker room is going to be pissed losing two leaders though. Flores may get the young players up but the veterans on that team? Really rough to have to lead them especially if this team stumbles out the gates. Agree or not Stills stood on his protests even going against the owner Stephen Ross which probably earned him brownie points with teammates but made him a Deadman in the Dolphins patriarchy and Tunsil survived that defeat day assassination to be something and according to reports would have been the tip of the iceberg if he got dealt to HOU in that proposed Clowney deal.
This is EXACTLY WHY you need an established GM and the head coach unless they're say Belichick should not have control of the 53. Same nonsense Hue Jackson pulled giving up two first for Carson Palmer who begged to be out of Cincinnati.

Yeah. O’Brien is making moves for his ass. For now.
That’s why they have a year (maybe 2) to make it happen. They really need to make their move though and if it works out and they’re in the AFC Championship game, then the draft picks essentially don’t hurt as much.

If you take it that Watt has 1-2 elite years left in him and Watson with some oline worth a damn produces still on his rookie deal, I get it. They have a right window of contention before Watson breaks bank and Watt is past his elite status. But that is high draft ammo for guys you will eventually have to end up paying big bucks too particular Leremy Tunsil.

So I'm working on my annual pre-season predictions for the year and I noticed the Bucs got totally screwed on their schedule, they play like 6 road games in 7 weeks( a game in London counts as a home game), with a bye in there they go 7 weeks with no football in their home stadium. What the fuck!?!?

It's a lot to give up, like holy shit, but it's the part of the deal I'm more happy with. This is what you do when you have a QB on a rookie deal. Okay, maybe not quite to this extent throwing firsts away, but the general idea is good. You get very few chances to have a rookie QB at this level, you have to take it and surround him with talent. The Clowney thing is still a joke, but this actually gives me confidence for next season.
