Seems kinda hypocritical of Dorsey to throw Josh Gordon out for his mental illness and then three months later signs Hunt after what he did but he doesn't shy away from taking suspect guys. Not really a fair comparison in my opinion. I think they wouldn't have traded Gordon if they could rely on him to contribute, but after so many years the scales tipped from "this guy has personal issues but if we can get him on the field he's an all-pro" to "this guy has all the talent in the world but he'll probably never get back on the field again" so it was a good decision from a culture perspective to move on to a new era. Here they take a brief PR hit but they get a top-5 RB for peanuts with very little doubt about whether he'll be able to perform on the field, or a trade option like they did with Carlos Hyde. All about risk vs reward.

AB has officially requested to be traded from the Steelers. What is insane is if Pitt survives losing Bell and Brown and still win this division with Juju and Conner.
AB to SF seems like the best bet here. As Damien Woody tweeted to him, be careful what you wish for because some franchises are terrible and have bad QBs.
Imagine SF gets AB and Earl Thomas and go for it all this season? That’d be dope.
I’m still projecting AB to SF and Bell to either Raiders or Indy.

Part of me kinda hopes that the Steelers tell him to buckle up and refuse to trade him. At least you can see what Lev Bell's point is, AB is just being a spoilt bitch.

BREAKING NEWS
The Baltimore Ravens intend to trade Joe Flacco to the Denver Broncos. However, trades can't be made until March 13th. Is this an upgrade for Denver or is this going to be another blah signing by John Elway in Denver?

Is this an upgrade for Denver or is this going to be another blah signing by John Elway in Denver? It's going to be paired with the drafting of Drew Lock at 10. Drew needs time to learn; Flacco is a better bridge than Keenum. I think the miss in this is that Flacco has already shown he doesn't believe he should mentor a young QB (see: Jackson, Lamar). Ultimately I think this will be a bad move.

Why is John Elway so bad at getting a QB?
I feel the same about MJ as an owner of a basketball team, but it's like Elways only problem is getting a QB.

Those who can't do, teach.
Conversely, those who can are typically shitty teachers.

A motivated Flacco which is his main problem is a decent quarterback and given how dire the free agency class looks and to an extent, this draft class, this seems like a nice move for Denver if it' a mid round pick. Not sure what it does to Keenum but Denver has a mighty fine running game and two legit WRs in Sutton and Em. Sanders. Fangio will want a QB who won't need to do too much so I think this works for him here.
Surprised Jacksonville didn't go after Flacco, especially given how close their defense is towards reaching the next level.

Case Keenum is every bit as good as Flacco. Don’t know why they are giving up anything for him.

Case Keenum is every bit as good as Flacco. Don’t know why they are giving up anything for him. Since Keenum entered the league: Flacco is also four years older and more expensive. They're not locking themselves in like Washington did with Alex Smith last season so you can't really call it a bad decision, just a very lateral and uninspiring move.

Also ironic that both guys biggest postseason moment is because a safety forgot how to play football.

Vegas thoughts on the move:
100:1 for Broncos without Flacco 125:1 for Broncos with Flacco

Flacco wasn't worth the big contract and he played himself thinking he was, but you guys are treating him like he's some bum that never accomplished anything and that's just plain wrong. He's no superstar but I'll still take him over Case Keenum every time.

We're not treating Flacco like a bum, just that objectively over the past few seasons he is almost an identical level quarterback to Keenum. A postseason run from years ago doesn't change that, just like Eli's don't stop him being a below average QB these days.

It's why stats don't fully dictate a story. Flacco played in brutal weather for a vast majority of years while prior to going to Denver, Keenum had the luxury of playing and hiding in a dome whether it was with the Texans, STL Rams or Vikings and get to play half their games with zero weather element or factor.
I'll also say that Morninweg is a garbage OC after seeing his shit offense go to work with the Jets. His offense doesn't work anymore and isn't catered to pocket passing. His stuff may have worked a decade ago with Vick and Co. In Philly but that doesn't necessarily work though Lamar Jackson was able to feast because of it but a pocket passer like Flacco could not.

Moore executed the simplest of coverages means the Ravens lose , means Joes “run” is over , means he doesn’t win MVP and means the Ravens don’t throw away a shit ton of money on a mediocre-below average quarterback.

Yeah but you can make context arguments on Keenum's side too, like how he was stuck on a Jeff Fisher team for two seasons throwing to Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt. Oh and no one has been beating down Bill Musgrave's door to offer him a job this season, either.

Being a Chiefs fan, I’m sleeping like a baby. Also hoping they draft Drew Lock, despite my love for a Columbia Missouri kid, because I just don’t see it.

Daniel Jeremiah's player comp for Lock was Mahomes - I wonder if that influences mikec's opinion at all...

I hope Lock works out, but I’m wholly uninspired by him. Maybe a year of grooming and better talent around him changes things.
I felt very Blaine Gabberty when it was all said and done.

Classic story.
I, for one, used to love rub and tugs back in my day. Would’ve been really pissed if I got bagged for that shit.
