Also, this week's Rampage can't get here fast enough, I haven't been this hyped for a show in forever.

But then again, WWF used Mike Tyson only a few years after his release from prison.

There's a difference between being convicted of a crime over 20 years ago, serving your time and staying out of trouble for a long period than some nobody who crosses a line on your own show. It wasn't just the Duke Lacrosse reference, it was the entire rap.
I agree that TK is guilty of virtue signalling but there isn't a double standard here.

The debut episode of Rampage drew 740,000 viewers.
And good results in round for RAW, IMPACT and NXT these past few weeks.

It wasn't just the Duke Lacrosse reference, it was the entire rap. I agree that TK is guilty of virtue signalling but there isn't a double standard here. It's interesting as time passes, it almost heals all wounds. Or people forget. Or don't care anymore. Say, if a lot of the talent from previous generations were working today - their careers would have ended. Big Show got his dick out. Stone Cold beat up his wife. Orton shit in a diva's bag. JBL showered with the young boys. These are all #speakingout moments that no-one cares about. I mean, Darby Allin got accused of " verbal abuse " and that was enough for the hashtags to get a work-out.

I made it up until "sissy-ass sensitivity training" and gave up. Cornette is not the person to be listening to on this and he's proven that time and time again. If you think he "nailed it" then that says a lot more about you than it does him.
The world has changed drastically over the past decade and you just need to accept that and move on. This stuff just doesn't fly anymore and Caster should have known better. Hopefully he'll learn from this.

I love the idea that AEW should have let him do his rap and kept it up. They could have seen their youtube channel get banned, which would mean that two of their shows now could not be aired. They would have more talent than they can use, which means some people would have to be released. Given the Acclaimed are mostly net show level guys, they would have likely been released anyway.
No road leads to the Max coming out better for that rap. If AEW took no action they risked others taking action. Just as people can say they have no problem with what he said, people can say they do not like and are free to not want to associate with AEW because it.

He's right that Khan has listened to all of the raps besides this one yet that still leaked out and was only frowned upon once social media/public opinion got a hold of it. You win as a team, you lose as a team. I doubt Caster kept all of that under his chest, surely Julia Hart would know one of the lines go to her. Likewise, the agents behind the match probably knew how long the rap would take when planning everything out. But only the guy who said the rap is faulted/punished/shamed by Tony in an interview by name.

They had an unsigned talent like Nick Gage slicing up Jericho in a picture by picture next to Dominos Pizza, a paid sponsor of theirs and then Jon Moxley told Dominos to suck it up an get a funny bone practically. The rap could be taken off yet Caster didn't need to lose pay because of it. That's what should have been done.

I find Caster to be an edge lord and pretty boring and a shit rapper, but the outrage seems a bit over the top. Then again, he is stupid if he doesn’t just take his medicine here since a lot of AEW fans are high on him. He could be leaving a lot of money on the table.

They could have lost 1 sponsor with Gage sure, but youtube content guidelines had justification to delete the AEW youtube for that single rape since it contained COVID testing misinformation along with content that violated the community standards on youtube that congressional hearings mandated they put into place. This is a shitload more serious than dominos being upset but not upset enough to pull their commercials. Also, Gage did not have the fans actively protesting the company on social media and mixing it into the #dobetter social media campaign. There was no way Max's rap benefited the company in any way, but people want to treat it like that to push their opinion on the cultural wars. Almost every other wrestling fed would have also fired him too. I mean WWE fired people for far less, and even actions they told workers to preform.

He dropped the ball and should have admitted as much. I just can't understand why anyone would jump to Caster's defence when he very obviously fucked up and then acted like a giant baby when he essentially got a slap on the wrist. And if he's so worried about his income I dunno what to say. He's allowed to work other indie dates I assume, since most AEW stars do, and someone would definitely book him. Or start a twitch channel and stream every day. Dude loves to hear himself talk and people would toss him some subs.

YouTube strikes are no joke, especially when two of your weekly shows air for free on the platform and pull thousands of views. This would have been horrible for AEW.

Almost every other wrestling fed would have also fired him too. I mean WWE fired people for far less, and even actions they told workers to preform. Given Khan and co. take down and copyright so many gifs and small videos that are shown all over Twitter(Such as the cleanup job for the botched ending of Moxley vs Omega in the death match) as well as the Caster original rap, I think they have leeway and/or ability to have TV-14/TV-MA rated content over on Youtube, have they not shown blood on their content? I mean this is on the WWE channel as we speak. A mocking of god/religion. How is COVID misinformation deemed any worse than this? One was on AEW Dark, the other was on Dynamite. Notice how Charlotte under Vince's script cut the same promo and caught no backlash from fans but Caster does? Again I don't buy Tony having no idea what is going down on any of his shows, Khan is just taking it out on Caster who he has overseen most if not almost all of his raps because this one went too far. He talked about Andrew Cuomo killing the elderly during COVID, green lit him talking about Jon Moxley's wife vulgarly but this is the one that goes too far for him? Given Dominos is paying TNT/AEW ad revenue money, TNT isn't going to try and lose a sponsor for all of their television. They'd bark at AEW for that negligence/lost revenue.

Let's not pretend that everyone involved didn't know what Max Caster was going to say.
Let's not pretend is the 'crime of the century' as someone described it.
And let's not pretend AEW, their YouTube channel and all their sponsorship and goodwill within the entertainment industry gets 'cancelled' or has the potential to. That's hyperbolics.
It proves how many people live in a bubble and how quickly AEW will bow down to the 1% as soon as it cops some heat.
Bill Burr has material about hitting women - and this is on Netflix. Jimmy Carr tells holocaust, rape and child abuse jokes and is literally everywhere. These are on his official YouTube page. Media outside of wrestling exists, and it's not all pretty and a lot of is offensive. It doesn't mean it's right or wrong. It's just a weird hill to die on when there is so much more offensive content in the world that reaches a much larger audience.
------------------
Team him up with MAGA Jelly Nutella as Jelly crusades against censoring free speech. It would be gold, especially when the AEW fan base is super-woke.

AEW confirmed they signed 2.0. Being I love them I think it is a great move. Hoping people are seeing the value of having a team like this that do not need wins to go out and do fun matches. When they are on a win streak they work a different style, bit more tight and with less fun spots and more match finishing attempts from them and they can do good title runs, but IMO their main appeal is they can take losses without losing heat really.
US Congress demanded that Google do something about COVID misinformation. That is why you cannot joke about shit with COVID. Congress also threatened to remove protections from lawsuits related to misinformation should Google and other places not proactively solve this issue. Google has a lot of pressure on them to not allow this shit on youtube, so putting it up on an AEW video is not a good idea. And saying hey it is a joke rap, is not going to cut it. Not with what is at stake for Google.
For people who want a fed that gives no fucks about what people think Black's XPW is coming back. They should be bringing in Marty, Drake Younger and Joey Ryan. Maybe Max has a new home there.

Anyone watch Elevation?
The latest episode has a good match between Daniel Garcia and Matt Sydal, there's nothing else worth checking out from this episode, but I thought this was a good match from both guys.

Garcia is fantastic, I'm totally on board with him after just a couple of appearances. I was pleasantly impressed by his promo for the match with Moxley too. His no frills look makes you think he might not be able to talk but that was very decent.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bryan told Tony while they were negotiating that Garcia was a guy he wanted to face. The way they've chucked him in there with Darby, Sting & Moxley off the bat has "big deal fairly quickly" all over it.
