That was a very enjoyable match. The pop-up Olympic Slam was wild. Leyla seems like a no brainer to sign, unique style, young and talented.

I didn;t realise until watching dark and brandi mentioned on commentary. When John silver was on shot of brandi, thr last seconds of the show anna jay came on and attacked brandi, so good. all the while john Silver was shouting 'worldstar' which I don't understand. The things you miss when you are't willing to watch 15 minutes of brandi.

I'm not willimhg to watch a shida dark squash match. Why not say it's a title match just for shits?

Serene Deeb, who's signed to AEW, just won the NWA womens championship from Thunder Rosa.

Maybe we will see more of NWA on AEW?

Serena's first title defense will be tomorrow night on Dynamite, against Leyla Hirsch.

Serena vs Leyla should be great - but this whole crossover with the NWA is being done in a very confusing manner.

I would recommend it, it wasn't a squash at all. If anything the criticism is that Shida gives her opponents too much offence given that she is the champion - but on the positive side of things it results in good matches.

No dash in the tag so tag didn't work. Shot of Brandi is now canon too? That is a shame. I original thought Britt would be the one to beat Shida but it could be Anna Jay. Then she could hold something over Brandi. And eventually mixed tag with Cody/Brandi vs. Brodie/Anna with the winning team getting all the gold. And yes Brandi would become champion.

Hearing Thunder Rosa may have signed with WWE hence why she dropped the NWA title. I think the money was too good to pass, sorta like Mercedes Martinez doing a 1 off with AEW before inking full time with WWE. Imagine Thunder Rosa in NXT division?

Serena vs Leyla was technically very strong as you would expect. As usual though, who knows what the fuck is going on with the booking. There is no consistency week to week and clearly no sort of plan whatsoever to tell compelling and engaging stories.

Why was that a title match for another promotion's title between someone wrestling their third and second match in AEW? Why did Leyla (for as good a wrestler as she is) walk into matches against Shida and Deeb rather than having to work her way up through the division? Why are we getting Shida vs Nyla again when there's been no build between them for weeks (maybe months?) and Rose's momentum has completely disappeared since she was partnered with Vickie?

The womens division just feels like a bunch of random exhibition matches. Except for the anna jay and brandi story, but thats not featured on dynamite.

Yeah that was incredibly odd we are having a title match between two people who have a combined one win in our company.

The truth is even with  all the excuses people like to make for AEW regarding injuries and covid related talent issues , they have enough  talent still to have a decent women's division if they even put in just a little effort into it. 


Women like Nyla go weeks without appearing on the show, there are no real storylines and rarely ever substantial non-match segments or promos, not to mention they constantly give the women the cool-down segment before the main event.

It's just really appalling how little effort they put into the division. For example Hikaru and Io have been champs for roughly the same amount of time , but it's clear that Io has been presented as being way more important and has had a way more memorable reign with great matches and good promos, while having several main event tv matches. Hikaru on the other hand  has had some good matches but also is not always on the show regularly, and hasn't been presented as being important and really has no character even when compared to Io.

Probably something to do with they should barely talk because Omega got over without a lot of talking because he is bad at it. If I heard a sound clip from each woman in their women division I don't think I could name half of them since they rarely talk.

I just don’t really understand all the Brandy wins on Dark. She’s not fun to watch and her matches always feel like a waste of time.

It all comes back to communication and a bit of planning rather than continuing to fly by the seat of their pants.

We've seen a million "invasion" angles in wrestling now but how much better would an angle been where Rosa, Allysin and Serena came into AEW together on the basis that they had nowhere to perform with NWA on hiatus. They could have played it off the real life frustration with the weaknesses of the AEW division and used it to build something far better. Instead we're left with these matches that, while nice in isolation, don't really mean anything and just leave everyone a little bit confused as to why they are happening.

I am glad Taz is drawing attention at how dumb their ranking system is. What did they say Nyla has been the number 1 contender for 24 weeks. And before Shida was champion she was the #1 contender for weeks.

Cody rightfully getting scalped for this online. When are they going to stop being defensive and admit they could and should be doing a much, much better job?

Cody's entrance last night was longer than the one women's match on Dynamite which ran a pitiful 1:51. This is not acceptable in 2020!
