These short matches are getting old. I want more substance.

There was some great heat behind the Julia/Swole vs Diamante/Nyla match today on Elevation. I already think Hart & Swole are a much better fit than Swole with Red Velvet & Kilynn King. Swole has had some rough moments here and there but when she's on her game like she was in this match she's really fun - especially loved her running headbutt.
Shida falling so far down the card since losing the title has been terrible but I do like how she's been making some small hints at a potential heel turn. Perhaps when Riho returns to fill out the face side a little bit that can happen.

My hype is through the roof for the debut of Ruby Soho. Cannot believe they got the blessing of Rancid for the song and all.
Just love all she is doing. The destination unknown hype playing off her new name, the Runaway nickname playing off her punk gimmick and Joan Jett, the throwbacks to old gimmicks in her teasers, it is just great stuff.
Not sure AEW has the sack to do it, but one way to get her REALLY over is to book her vs Kingston early on. They had a great match in Chikara back in the day, and both are better workers now.
I know the Riot is Over, but I do hope she can reunite with Liv in AEW at some point. Liv has so much untapped potential.
So hope AEW does not fuck this up, Ruby has been someone everyone has been waiting to get a chance to breakout for a decade, and it is clear she is ready now. She always had the moves, WWE taught her to how to work a character and get spots over, it is time now to give her a story and see what she can do with a company who believes in her.

Julia hart was taken out by Rose and Cargill on dark tonight, and then it was announced on twitter she isn't cleared by doctors to be in the battle royale; so the 21st spot is freed up again.

Sky Blue vs Red Velvet was pretty good on dark today. Skye is pretty darn athletic; she seemed a top notch dark wrestler. Hope AEW signs her. I really enjoyed this match. And after the match Tony came out and gave Skye a spot in the battle royale.
The crowd has not been good to red velvet recently, getting booed against Britt and then getting booed here on dark against Skye Blue (Skye is a local)

Speaking of Skye Blue, Tony Khan announced that she will be taking Julia Hart's place in the battle royal.

I didn't mind how they used her against Britt but they should have left it at that. Bringing her right back to face another hometown talent to set up a feel good moment was a weird move. They could have used anyone in that spot. What they gonna feed Red Velvet to Jon Moxley in Cincinnati on Wednesday? Is this her new gimmick?

But its just dark so I shouldnt think too much of it

I think that was the best-looking Canadian destroyer I've ever seen two women pull.Usually they look a lot more clunky. Kriss is a great base.

Really enjoyed the title match. Couple of great moments in the homestretch with OC getting Statlander fired up and avoiding the count out, and then the pop for the Pittsburgh Sunrise - wow! Nice job keeping Kris looking strong with the kickouts at the end.
The battle royal was well booked with all the various rivalries and the perfect choice of the final two. I think I'm going to have to eat my words on Ruby - she was over like crazy.

Speaking of the Casino Battle Royal... I absolutely need Ruby Soho and Thunder Rosa in a one-on-one match up. AEW has a lot of decent to good female talent, very few of them are elite talent (pardon the pun), Ruby is a great pick up by the company.

I love the Britt/KS match. Both ladies look strong. KS has been great since returning from injury. Britt's best defence to date. Glad to see Ruby get a great pop. I'm glad she's in AEW.

The three strikes match fell a little bit flat for me unfortunately. They made the stipulations (or the way they explained them, at least) needlessly complicated and by spending so much time talking about that they didn't emphasise some of the storyline that the women were telling in the ring. Swole and Diamante did a good job incorporating their entire feud into one match (Diamante winning the first fall by pulling on the tights, Swole beating her at her own game with the chain) but there were a few too many messy spots. I find Swole in particular seems to do a lot of these complicated evasion/counter sequences which can look great when they're executed well but with a relatively high level of difficulty can often look awkward and overly choreographed when they miss.
Ruby vs Jamie is the Dynamite match tomorrow night. Should be a good one!

So into Ruby in AEW. Was so cute to see her backstage with Sarah Logan in AEW in the videos that AEW posted. This should be the first time really that she has had total control over her gimmick too so curious to see what she becomes. Quack and WWE both use a heavy hand in booking, AEW will likely be open to her changing her style in the ring and in character to whatever she wants.

Ruby vs Jamie was pretty disappointing. Jamie was on offense for 90% of the match, and the offense Ruby did pull off wasn't super impressive I was hoping she'd show off some new stuff in her first singles match in her new promotion, but it was basically her usual WWE spots. There was also that really bad reverse frankensteiner botch (at least that's what I think they were going for who knows).

I think Ruby might have been knocked a bit out of it one of the times she was thrown into the turnbuckle and that caused some of those issues.

It was nice to see Dark tonight built around hyping Jade vs Leyla for tomorrow's Dynamite. It'll be interesting to see how that match plays out in Hirsch's hometown and how they balance Cargill going longer whilst still trying to keep her strong.

I have trouble imagining the IIconics or whatever they're called now in AEW. Even though some of the women aren't there yet, I feel like the company is striving for workrate, which is not Peyton and Billie's specialty

And a new name which is interesting. Still curious where they end up when they can wrestle again. I'm banking on them going after the Knockouts titles, then eventually moving to AEW full time in the future. Unless the new titles AEW is teasing are going to be women's tag titles, then who better to bring in for the mandatory tournament?

They announced the Inspiration name ages ago. It was never likely to be anything to do with AEW, they're not going to waste their return via a tweet.

I really wish Jade vs Leyla was a bit more competitive. Eventually, you have to see how Jade does in longer more back and forth matches if you want her to improve.

Leyla came at her hard, got tons of offence in, then Jade remembered she was massive and turned the tides and won the match. Easily her best match yet. She's going to make an amazing champ one day.

You have to balance retaining her aura with pushing her longer though. I think they did a good job tonight considering it's only the second time she's gone that distance. My favourite part of the match was Leyla's expression when she was hooked up for Jaded. You could read "Oh shit this is over" right off her face.
