Also: Give Jade Cargill a chainmail headdress. But that's reserved for when AEW stop being annoying and sexist and let women through the forbidden door...

They announced the Inspiration name ages ago. It was never likely to be anything to do with AEW, they're not going to waste their return via a tweet. I missed it I guess. And they could to break the story before a wrestling news site gets wind of it. I agree that they would be better suited to TNA, but given I do not watch TNA for selfish reasons I want them in AEW. Also lord knows AEW needs more teams of women to do multiwomen matches instead of basically random one on one matches with seemingly no direction at all. Girls cannot get into Japan right now, so forbidden door is one way for now. Not sure how much DDT or Stardom wants most American gals though as both have their own tight divisions right now and picking up the Joshi style to work fluidly takes time for most people.

Ruby vs Emi was pretty dissapointing. Ruby hasn't really been impressing me in the ring in AEW, and Emi doesn't stand out as much in the ring as other joshes.

People on Wreddit love her for some reason but I don't see it at all. The character is all over the place, her wrestling is slow and not particularly interesting. Ruby has got to get a better finisher. The kick is just not impactful enough, it should be a setup move and nothing more.

I love Emi, but it is more character and she is an awesome person. Def middle of the road in the ring.
Ruby never had a good finisher IMO. Deadly Night Shade (weird move she does in the corner driving the person into the turnbuckle from a headscissor) would work as a finisher if sold right but that has that weird setup issue and dumping someone in the corner problems. The Riott Kick is great in a tag team but not for solo. Great sig move, but not really match ending.
Sadly the Riott Kick is leagues better than the rest of the bad finishers she had. Either they were generic or even lamer.

Like how she tries to get the crowd to do the we will rock you clap, despite the fact that she's a heel .I also don't get LuluPenicl her attempts at interference just look really bad, Ruby rightfully no sold her strikes on the apron. Yeah her wrestling just isn't impressive at all. Just compare her short dark and elevation matches to what Hamada did in TNA with frequently even less time. I also agree that Ruby bad needs a new finisher, the riot kick can be a good set up moves but it is way too weak to be a finisher.

Yeah absolutely - it's the incongruity that is my main problem. If she is going to be a comedy character with the Freddie Mercury stuff and Lulu on the outside that's fine, but lean all the way into it and just be goofy. It doesn't make sense paired with the savvy veteran gatekeeper style she wrestles the rest of her matches with.

Not sure what a good finisher for Ruby would be but a headlock driver might work well with her kick as stun setup move.

Ruby's kick is a normal move, not a finisher. It looks very weak.

I also don't quite get the Ruby Soho hype, her punches looked really bad vs Bunny today and her attire might be the worst one out there today on a major promotion. Particularly the pants, is that really a style to have one thigh showing with the shins and below covered?

Ruby still isn't impressing me . Why is Allie/The Bunny getting so much screen time? Where is Red Velvet, Leyla Hirsch, or Kilynn Kling? This division is boring me.

Trying to make Penelope Ford & Bunny a dynamic duo and a legit heel threat in the division I think. Can't tell me this should get time over Rossi vs Kiss for the lone women's division match Rampage gets a week.

Red Velvet is seriously going to really harm her well being the way she is going in the ring, way too fast and uncoordinated. I can live with the botchy standing moonsault, that's whatever but some of the bumps she was doing to herself I really cringed at, especially the Spanish Fly she landed head first off the 3rd rope and she could not make a pin right away due to the pain from it.
There's something there but it's really gotta be baked in your mama's kitchen(pun intended) some more.

Not sure how long she has been using it but Red Velvet's final slice is a pretty nice finisher. It looks like a combination of a scissor kick and Overdrive.

So I'm going to assume, Jade Cargill is wining the tournament, which I'm more than OK with.
My predictions for the tournament (which means I'm most likely wrong)...
Round One Jamie Hayter def Anna Jay Red Velvet def The Bunny Hikaru Shida def Serena Deeb Ruby Soho def Penelope Ford
Quarterfinals Thunder Rosa def Jamie Hayter Jade Cargill def Red Velvet Hikaru Shida def Nyla Rose Kris Statlander def Ruby Soho
Semi Finals Jade Cargill def Thunder Rosa Kris Statlander def Hikaru Shida
Finals Jade Cargill def Kris Statlander

Yeah the bottom half of the tourney can definitely see the first round winners winning in the second round. Hikaru or Serena are strong enough to beat Nyla clean. If Ruby wins I could see her getting a win over Statlander, but that's not a toss up to me. It's believable Jamie could beat Rosa, what with the possibility of The Good Doctor interfering to hurt Rosa. And whil I expect JAde to beat Velvet, I look forward to their match - their first match was pretty good.
All in all, I look forward to this. Lots of good possibilities.

They could Nyla booking isn't really the strongest. I assume Shida gets her revenge. And Serena does some extended leg damage in the Serenity Lock after the match. Shida leg fails her against Nyla and Nyla wins.

Serena just turned heel and is getting a push. Could easily see her beating Shida again, setting up Deeb/Shida III around Full Gear.
I think Ruby goes all the way to the finals. She's one of the best and safest workers they have and she'll make Cargill look amazing. Also they probably want to protect Statlander a little longer. Losing two title shots in a row would be a bit damaging.

It's disappointing the crop of Joshi wrestlers AEW has decided to pick from is pretty disappointing most of them aren't bad per say , but a lot of them don't really stand out like past/current Josh wrestlers have in Mainstream wrestling. Even Shida or to a lesser extent Riho who at the very least have had a number of very solid matches in AEW still imo wouldn't crack the top 5 in terms fo most impressive Joshi runs in western promotions.
Now certainly they aren't being helped by how they're being used, most of them are relegated to short enhancement matches on Dark, that aren't formatted in an interesting/exciting way. It just seems odd to me me to bring in the likes of Ryu Mizunami and Yuka Sakazaki only to wrestle exclusively on the web shows. There are ,many Joshi wrestlers who can succeed in these conditions based on talent alone ( see Hamada having great sub 3 minute sprints with the likes of Taylor and Sarita), but they ones they have chosen just aren't.

I guess it's just that they like Ryu and Yuka as experienced hands who are safe working with the inexperienced women on the Youtube shows, but I totally agree that it's not making for particularly entertaining matches. I don't really have any desire to see either of them in bigger roles though... Riho is the one who is really in purgatory at the moment, she couldn't even crack the TBS tournament bracket!
