My first gaming purchases of 2024, the Bloodstained games have been on my want list for a while now, and with one copy at the PNP location I was at, I couldn't pass it up. I already had the Phoenix Wright trilogy digitally (@ness). Still, I couldn't pass up a chance to get it physically, especially with the Apollo Justice collection coming out (and already owning a physical copy of The Great Ace Attorney game).

Either I'm crazy or that was well worth wasting 5 minutes of my life over.

Oh man Rocksteady done fucked up. I love Arkham City & Asylum but that end sequence got leaked of the upcoming Suicide Squad game and they made a big mistake already...

I thought that might be the next "Pokemon clone" game that I play, I enjoyed the Nexomon games, and Coromon looks just as good, with some interesting designs. Admittedly, I wasn't super big into Monster Crown, it's not a bad game, but there are better non-Pokemon styles games out there.

Oh yeah, and I still need to check out Casset Beasts (I believe the name was), at some point as well.

Never heard of Coromon but Cassette Beasts was one of my favorite games of last year, easy recommend to play that one.

Yeah, Cassette Beasts has been on my want-to-play list for a while now.



Blindy, I believe the game came out two years ago, it looks like a pretty good game.

Coromon's pixel graphics look charming enough, but it just looks like a spiritual successor that doesn't really bring any new ideas to the table. Kind of reminds me of a version of Pokemon Uranium that happens to lean more heavily into 2010s indie game design. Not bad if you're looking for the same but different, but a little too samey for most.

It does remind me, what the hell happened to Temtem? I remember that being pushed like PalWorld and fading off into obscurity. Did anyone play it?

It's basically an Arkanoid/Breakout clone meets Bomberman. It's available on the Switch, have you checked it out Lony? For $3, I thought it was worth a look.

XBOX fans losing their minds this weekend after Forbes and other outlets are saying console exclusives like Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are coming this year for PS/Nintendo owners. Also rumors of Hellblade 2 eventually coming to PS5 and that months after it releases first on XBOX, Indiana Jones will arrive to the PS5.

I get why it is good business to sell games to as many consumers as possible but it begs the question why own an XBOX if this is the endgame? I have both systems and love them both but XBOX needs exclusives to keep their brand and console alive and just giving competitors their games a mere months after the fact seems to defeat the purpose.

As consoles are supposedly sold at a loss, maybe they’ve decided that it’s just financially more suitable to focus on game production.

I think at this point Xbox just wants to create the infrastructure for Gamepass as a sub service rather than be in the console market.

I have just decided to get a Switch, main reason is because I want to play a lot of the Mario games I've missed out on playing.

I really hope this game sells like gang busters and is a great game, easily one of my most anticipated games. I almost want to see this game succeed because this feels like another Hogwarts Legacy where people want to hijack the game for stuff that doesn't have to do with the story or gameplay. Hogwarts had the whole Trans rights thing while Stellar Blade has the objectifying women going against it.

She can be flatter than an iron and I would still play this game because it looks right up my alley. Not enough beauty in heavy female protagonists these days if anything. Tifa and Aerith haven't been dumbed down looks wise and both male & female gamers are jumping into the new FF7 Rebirth game coming out soon head first.

Love this studio not backing down and giving in.

If you don't play Mario right, don't bother playing at all.

Remember to understand the rich lore you have to start from the beginning:

Yoshi's Island --> Donkey Kong --> Donkey Kong Jr --> Mario Bros --> Super Mario Land --> Super Mario Bros (this is when he gets over Daisy for Peach) --> Mario 64 (the cake was his reward, this was also how he gets reunited with Yoshi leading to...) --> Super Mario World

Then things become really complicated because Star Road changed the space time continuum, that's why Mario 64 DS completely changed things. The Lost Levels is just a glitch in the system altogether and Paper Mario is some real Spiderverse stuff.

That's also how Donkey Kong Jr was wiped out of existence and why everyone got a name change - some real Berenstain Bears/Mandela effects going down.

They nerfed MJ in Spider Man 2 really bad, I don't know why Insomniac did that.

Getting back to this, this is supposedly the week Phil Spencer makes the big announcement for the future of Microsoft/XBOX. No idea what is about to happen but this could be either a really good vote of confidence for the XBOX consumer or really bad, as in house burning levels of bad if the first party games are going elsewhere. Forget the XBOX only diehards who hate Sony and wave the green flag every second of their lives, the XBOX just loses it's identity as a whole and we need a direct competitor to make sure Sony doesn't get complacent and seize control of the modern day(Sorry Switch 2) console market. 

I think the end is nigh for XBOX as we know it. I bet they rebrand into a budget PC that can also play games. Basically what they already are, but with windows also installed. Market it not as a console, but an all in one couch PC. Lean into their strengths basically. Give up the pure console market, but offer a way to still play the games via a gaming mode.

From what I understand for gaming now the PC market is surging back, which is why the Xbox market is getting killed. People would rather a full PC or Laptop than an Xbox.

Supposedly a Nintendo Direct is happening this same day but that's a rumor, if so potential shadow drops of games like Hi-Fi Rush could totally happen.

Not sure why they're doing this as a Podcast and am also surprised they're doing this later this week, especially with DICE awards going on but yeah this Thursday looks to be an insane day.

One thing that could happen for the future of XBOX is cloud consoles. It something they are seriously looking into. Sell super, super cheap units, and do the heavy lifting on their cloud computers. I am not really into the concept but I know people who use it and love it.

All the best games have horses - remember that when you do your Smash Bros esque tally at the end of a playthrough.

That's the difference between a 4.75 game and a 5 star game.

System my weaknesses are doing anything but a straight line with a horse. Unlike @eponafan98 I just can't get excited about the nay nay.
