Blindy, what's your top ten PS5 games (not counting super-hero games, as I plan on picking them all up)? Anything you'd recommend, based off of what I have picked up for the Switch? I know Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, is high on my want list.

Congrats Lony !!!! First game you must play is the already downloaded Astro's Playroom. You will love it, it takes you down a trip of Playstation nostalgia and it is the best game that makes you use your Dualshock 5 controller. Easy platinum too. Really fun platformer and easy to play with a child too. Not difficult or overly long either. R&C Rift Apart is my favorite game that's exclusive to the system but you have to know or like the R&C series to get it. You will probably enjoy Spider Man 2 loads if you liked the original. Demons Souls Remastered is a banger if you're into souls games and regardless if you played Demons Souls PS3 or not. I liked Returnal but did not love it, it's a roguelike third person shooter and it can be somewhat difficult. Sackboy's Big Adventure if you didn't play it for the PS4 is fantastic, easily the most underrated game this gen for Playstation. R&C Rift Apart Spider Man 2(I know you mentioned superhero games) Demons Souls Remastered Astro's Playroom Sackboy's Big Adventure. Some of these games are free via PS Plus IIRC. Look into it before buying any of these games(Besides Spider Man 2). Pretty sure Sackboy has been free via PS Plus, not sure if Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is in the PS Plus package, I know Returnal is.

Blindy , Big Pete , unsurprisingly next week will see a Pokémon Presents on February 27th, it'll def be interesting to see what announcements they make. Rumours seem to suggest some form of a Gen II/V game. Whether it's a Let's Go Johto game, an Ilca remake of B/W, a Johto Legends game or a full-blown sequal to B/W 2. I think this largely has to do with the legendary trio from S/V involving both games. Plus the two DLCs echo those two games, with the Indigo Disk being outright set in the same region as B/W with characters that are related to B/W characters. The Teal Mask wasn't as blatant but the traditional Japanese country-side setting was the same theme you saw through out Johto.
Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Gen II was my most anticipated game while Gen V is what got me back into the series.

Somewhat difficult in the way that smoking crack is slightly addictive. Lony I assume it’s the same overseas but if you get the top tier PS+ you get extra games (and classic game) so can give a few games ago without outright buying them. Not gamepass level of good but still worth a shot.

I know it gets hate, but I would love to see a modern day take on Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In this day and age, I would imagine getting a roster that big with each character having a unique fatality, shouldn't be to hard to do. Congrats Lony !!!! I'm tempted to upgrade, just for the Ratchet and Clank games, along with the Sly Cooper collection, as those seem like games right up my alley.

Stellar Blade, which is the big release of April(PS5 exclusive) got a demo released too early and it was immediately pulled within 1 hour. This is a "Top 10 Blindy's Games I look forward to of 2024" and you can see why, looking at the.......rain. The rain physics.

This is why I can't get behind first person. Given the whole Sweet Baby Inc. stuff, having a game come out like this that is unapologetic about the main character and how they're designed is going to shake up some of the gaming industry and I am all for it. Just need the game to be GOOD. Most important thing this studio from South Korea does it nail the story and gameplay and have it avoiding being too redundant.

Don't see Kid Chamelon on anyone's backlog. Playing some Sega a bit. Struggling on Gunstar. Hate the sliding down the hill barely surviving and then fighting a boss on low health.
Tried Kid Chameleon. Without the powers dude is clearly too cool for school

Went to EB Games the other day to get a $50 gift card for a quick gift, reminded me why I haven’t been there in so long.
Would you like to spend and extra ___ and get a tote bag?
No.
Other worker to the cashier while I’m still there: Have you been finding it hard to sell the tote bags?
Him: Yeah it is what it is.
If you any other time it’s always getting hounded about pre-orders or trade ins.
At least wait until I walk off, I spent $50 more than I normally do at EB, be happy.

They really gutted the game selection at my local superstore. I'm guessing I'll have to amazon a ps5 if I ever want one since I haven't seen it stocked since that day I saw it by accident. Sad days, but digital is here.

The newest games in the Switch Collection. I also ordered a physical copy of Coromon through Limted Run and should get that in September.

Both games are great, 5 great Metroidvania pleasures you got with 1 purchase Lony . Massive dub. The performance on the Switch for Prince of Persia sucks though, it says 30 FPS but it dips even lower than that whenever there's alot of enemies on the screen. That was one of my biggest gripes with that game, the Switch version is such a letdown.

The performance on the Switch for Prince of Persia sucks though, it says 30 FPS but it dips even lower than that whenever there's alot of enemies on the screen. That was one of my biggest gripes with that game, the Switch version is such a letdown. Prince of Persia was $30 off, so not that bad, and I did enjoy the demo, so hopefully the rest of the game is good stuff. Without the performance issues, it's an easy 9/10 game for me. Still think it makes my top 10 GOTY list. Did a mini writeup for this one: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown(Switch) 1/18, 1/20-1/22, 1/26-1/29
Easily the best game that Ubisoft has put out in ages, at least for me. I knew this would be a banger given it's the people who made both Rayman Origins & Legends who were behind this game. It starts off okay but in typical Metroidvania fashion, as soon as you get more & more abilities, it just feels super smooth. The air dash acquisition really changes this game. The boss fights are pretty good too and there's surprisingly a good amount of enemy variation which is usually never the case with games from this genre. How fast pace this game is has to be the best selling point in favor of playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and the puzzle rooms they put are challenging but very fun, quick reflexes very much necessary!
The lone blemishes come in the form of that there just isn't enough fast travel spots and that you're forced to use the same hub for most upgrades which can be a bit of a killjoy needing to go back to the same place each time to upgrade. Given there are portions of the game that you go a few hours without the ability to access quick travel, it becomes very cruel when you lose your acquired currency(crystals) upon death where your holding a heavy amount without the ability to cash in. There are also quite a few notable game bug glitches, nothing that destroy the game but certain side quests aren't clicked off or camera is zoomed in during one side quest where I thought my game crashed. I assume these have been patched now so maybe these are outdated concerns which is good news for those who haven't played this yet? The biggest pet peeve is how poor this game runs on the Switch. I knew buying this on the Nintendo Switch meant I was sacrificing the opportunity to play 60 FPS which is a godsend for such a game but even at 30 FPS, I felt good enough to buy this on the system. Nintendo had the marketing rights, ya know? Nope, this game dips so bad at certain points, especially when multiple enemies are on the screen, it also felt like slow motion at given points. The beginning portion was pretty rough with this IIRC, like I know the Switch is easily the most inferior system today but this is still really unacceptable. Probably would have to shave 1/2 a point from the final score for the performance of this game alone.
Final Grade: 8.5/10. if I played this on another system, easily a 9/10 though. Avoid the Switch version if you can! Great Metroidvania, wish this game sold more and got more eyeballs on it but the sales say otherwise. These guys at Ubisoft Montpellier are the best studio of the entire company IMO and deserve so much better. Barring something crazy, should be there on my top 10 GOTY list.
EDIT: When reading this online, everything says Switch can run this at 60 FPS when docked but it's 1080P, I didn't really get this experience at all...game was running in slo-mo at certain portions, played it docked all the way through.

Microsoft cutting Tango Studios is such a dumb decision, Hi Fi Rush was great and easily the console's best exclusive released. Wish it sold more so that's what it ultimately comes down to but I see why Mikami got out of dodge, he probably saw the writing on the wall.

Having Mikami in your clutches only to let something like that walk away. Insane. Although I hear in a recent interview he wanted to pull away from the horror genre, so maybe they thought it wasn't worth keeping him around. Shame about Tango still.

Although I hear in a recent interview he wanted to pull away from the horror genre, so maybe they thought it wasn't worth keeping him around. Shame about Tango still. Mikami has his own studio now and will probably hire some of the Tango people, especially maybe John Johanas who was the director of Evil Within 2 and Hi Fi Rush, he won't be unemployed for very long. Just tragic stuff. I really liked Hi-Fi Rush and can't stress enough about how fun of a game it is and am glad it's on other systems too. High recommend. A sequel with that cast of characters would have been terrific. I liked the entire cast practically. I have little to no faith in the XBOX brand at this point and that press conference next month is coming in with so many people feeling down about the entire brand. Talk about a killjoy. XBOX/Activision has a Call of Duty conference right after, big deal.

This happened to Disney not too long ago. Acquired many properties in the hopes of having lot of IP's at it disposal, not taking into account the overhead to keep things going. Disney too had to cancel many projects, so did WB/HBO/Max or whatever they want to call themselves. Guess Xbox will just bank on Call of Duty and whatever BIG Bethesda project (Elder Scrolls/Fallout) they have in the pipeworks.

They really are banking on Game Pass but comes at the detriment of their main games not selling. I love Game Pass and still think it's great but I am stunned they wanted to put their first party IPs on it Day 1. This vs the $70 dollar price tag Sony has for their first party IPs. I just can't believe XBOX/Matt Booty who has looked awful all week preaching XBOX needs more smaller titles to catch on when they just cut a studio that put out the epitome of that last year.
