A few Earthworm Jim vids popped into my feed recently and they all make a comment, they consider Jim to be a Sega name. Do you agree with that? In terms of output he's been on Nintendo more, so is it more of a "tude" vibe that he feels like he fits in better with Blast Processing... plus feels like they're throwing them a bone. Compared to DK, Link and co. Alex Kidd is a jobber. More personality and a bit of edge just felt more at home with Sega. Maybe it's like Sony and Spiderman. Nintendo be like you can use em, but you'll never HAVE em. Definitely the vibe, played heaps of Earthworm Jim on Nintendo. That sumo level from Earthworm Jim 2 haunts me.

As a Borderlands fan, I was not touching that movie with a ten foot pole. Seeing the trailer I knew the thing was going to be a pile. Randy Pitchford can suck a big fat d for what he has turned this franchise into for the last decade. Glad he is eating nothing but L's.
It's good that Tango being sold but guess we'll have to see what becomes of the studio with new leadership. Not that it ever had a solid founding being with Bethesda and then Microsoft. Only time will tell if they can become the Tango of old. I wish them well!

Since when has this been considered a classic?
I completely missed out on SvR era (stopped watching after Eddie died, came back for the Pipe Bomb; '07-11 was peak party era for me) but apparently it's Season Mode is considered the GOAT? I've only played snippets of '09 and it was mediocre from what I remember. HCTP/No Mercy were pretty much perfect games and the gold standard (SYM was fun, too - I think we both agree 14/19 are the best 2k's? '21 was the last I tried out). Whenever I can nab an old TV (CTV I think its called?) I wanna pick this up for PS2 and find out what the hype was all about.

It's strange because on release it seemed like SVR07 was a step down for the series. That was the year they changed the grapple system and made the style more homogenised. While that reflected the on-screen product better, it wasn't as fun to play. The only consolation was the ability to Awesome Bomb your opponent's out of the ring.
Then again, I only played the PS2 version. I think the reason why it's remembered so fondly was that it was the first title to come out on the 360 and for it's time it was one of the best looking games period. I didn't have a 360 on it's release, but the updated graphics were so good I got conned into buying SVR08 (which was the worst game since JBI).
Nowadays, it seems like SVR09 is considered a series low-point. I think it's a divisive one because they gave the legends their own spin-off game and hardly included any Hall of Famers on the roster. For me, I actually enjoyed having more modern wrestlers in the game and being more immersed in that 07/08 roster. I also enjoyed how creative some of the Road to Wrestlemania stories. Sure, there was no replayability there but it cut out all the unnecessary fat of past season modes.
Still, it just couldn't compete with how fun those earlier SD titles were. It was an inevitability, but SmackDown 1-5 started with the concept of making a fun game first and then honouring the license. As time went on, the games became dull because they had to reflect the on-screen product which was also dull.
It's a shame Fight Forever cut so many corners because there's some really cool ideas in there. Being able to ride around on Darby's skateboard and perform moves just takes me back to riding on Taker's biker in SYM.

So Borderlands 4 has been announced. Not sure how I feel about it. Some people are throwing around a theory that it could involve multiverse shenanigans. Would kinda put Handsome Jack in play which would really blow, as things that happened would mean nothing. Gearbox got lucky once with Handsome Jack and haven't made a villain like him since. Maya and Roland could return, making stakes almost zero. Of course, this is just some theory crafting stuff based off of a teaser... but still, plz no.
Also pretty sure Gearbox put this out to make everyone forget about the movie. Full PR mode right now.

Indieworld+Partner showcase for Nintendo had some good stuff for me...
- Coffee Talk Tokyo is cool, I played the 1st 2. They're solid 8/10 type of VN's. Def looking into that for 2025. - Sea of Stars DLC is great, another one I am looking forward to next year. - Morsels looks insane, looks like some wacky 90's side scrolling shooter. Think Zombies ate my Neighbors. - Pizza Tower getting a shadow drop for the Switch is big time. - Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remakes getting a March 2025 is awesome. - Castlevania DS collection getting a shadow drop for today is just insane. I only played Portrait of Ruin which I liked a lot but Dawn of Sorrow is one I really wanted to play as I loved Aria of Sorrow. - Capcom Dreamcast Fighting Collection(As I call it) is awesome. Rival Schools/Project Justice are fantastic and I had a lot of fun with Power Stone 1 and 2. Star Gladiator and some others coming to this collection too.

The remaster of Tales of Graces caught my eye. The rumour I saw going around was that Xillia was being remastered while fans were hoping for Abyss. I'm not sure if fans were aware that it'd be Graces but I don't think they'd be too upset. Graces came out in the west back in 2012 and has been stuck on the PS3 ever since. The combat is considered the best in the series and it's got a cult reputation despite having relatively weak graphics and story. Originally it was a Japanese Wii exclusive released in 2009, so it definitely looks it's age. I still have my PS3 copy that I've yet to play so I'll probably put it on the backburner.
The Marvel vs. Capcom pack is also due out on September 12th. That's sooner than expected, but $70 AUD is nearly twice what I would consider paying. If I really wanted to get into the scene, I'd consider $70 a pretty standard entry fee but this is the type of game I just want to play on a rainy day. With Echoes of Wisdom and Metaphor on the horizon it's difficult to justify. I'd imagine by the time it goes on special I'll be able to give it the attention it deserves.

Yeah the Tales of Grace F and Trails from the Sky Remake were also featured and are both considered pretty good for JRPG fans, especially the latter as it's the 1st and best way to get into the series. I only played Trails of Cold Steel 1 for a bit so that and the Tales series are 2 JRPG series I don't know much about. And yeah I bought the Castlevania DS Collection and went straight into the only one of the 3 games(Well 4 if you count the retro game added) I played and beaten...twice in Portrait of Ruin. These GBA/DS Iga Castlevania games are just really fun and easy to get into for the most part.

The only issue I have with Trails is that the main selling point is how rich the story-telling is across all the games. It maybe a situation not too dissimilar from TV where it gets good after you watch enough seasons, I don't think I have the energy to get invested (we shall see).
How much did it set you back? I'll have to drag out the situation and get a good look. Dawn of Sorrow was actually my introduction to the series but I have no idea how well it holds up after Symphony of the Night. My only memory of the game is that after you defeated bosses you had to draw a symbol with your stylus - just annoying hat on hat DS gimmickry.

Yeah Trails series def have to be played in a certain order and I think what turned me off from them was so many of the games were locked in Japan. Trails of Cold Steel 1 also was very very shonen anime like with the characters. Rivalry over class, or clash of personalities but I liked it albeit I wish I didn't play it on Hard mode since it made it a pure grindfest where I quit part way through. The Collection was $25 bucks for 4 games which I think is a steal here. I beat Portrait of Ruin in 3 days, game is still great. I am among the first 20 people to get trophies in this game, including 17th overall in finishing the game on PSN! Everybody is probably playing Dawn of Sorrow first which probably helps me out there! Will play the other 2 eventually but I wanna get back into Wukong and when Emio: The Smiling Man arrives via mail, I don't want to be overloaded with too many games.

$770 after taxes here for a PS5 Pro, no thanks. No Disc drive and a vertical stand sold separate. Nah sorry. No physical preservation option on the spot(Don't give me add on stuff), no buy. I put $100 extra for disc PS5 but to not get an option on this is crazy. If this only has 2 USB drives, that's a laugher. Sony wants a digital only future, no way around it. Hate that. Physical>digital if given a choice for me(I buy both) but I want that option. Then having to buy some add on to run physical games? In addition to the $70 dollar first party Sony games? Been really down on much of what Sony has done this generation. For every one step moved right, two steps get moved down.

For NYC after taxes: 770 for PS5 Pro 88 for physical disc drive add on 33 for vertical stand --------------------- $891 overall more or less, this is without an additional controller(Which went up $5-$10 dollars BTW as of a few days ago) or headset or whatever. No games either sans Astro's Playroom. Also have to pay for online membership to play games online.
At this point, you might as well just build a PC and you'll get something not too far off from something from a graphical standpoint.

People are paid millions to work in important jobs in these organisations. Where is the common sense amongst them? Who the fuck is going to pay $900 for a PS5 with a bit more power? Who would sink that amount of money into something that can’t be upgraded?
Massive own goal. Good news is it’ll probably help push down the price of the PS6 whenever it comes out.

I keep missing a chance to get a regular one. I saw one (500) in stock a few weeks back. Was gone when I returned. I don't play much but obviously would like to get rebirth and the 2nd Spiderman. Ratchet too but beyond that not sure. Certainly can't justify 800 when it's gonna collect dust once I beat those games. When System said flop Era I thought it was talking about this type of stuff.

Yeah. It is a bit of a rare misstep for Sony.
Besides, I've never really went in for a mid-gen pro-spec system. Never did it for the PS4, not gonna do it for this one.

I've decided to play an awful lot of WWE2K24 lately, and I've decided to regimmick a lot of guys for my universe mode.
Xavier Woods & Cedric Alexander are a tag team, but the spirit of Bray has infected them, so they've got Bray variant attires on them.
Jinder Mahal is doing his best Jimmy Wang Yang impression now.
Drew now wears a mask and goes by El McIntryio

That's something I've been thinking about, you and switch games. Figured with things happening that was probably on the backburner.
I recently started up the 2nd Scarlet DLC. I took a break after the 1st one. I got some thoughts but don't want Big Pete to call me a mark.

Maybe you have to complete some form of education to get there.
It all makes sense, except why are the students some of the best trainers in the history of the series? The power creep is off the chain.
They did Kieran so dirty in this DLC as well.

Not sure what I'm going to play first! It's certainly a lot more reasonably priced than the Analogue Pocket. Let us know what the quality is like. Playing ROMs on PC just does not feel right to me lol.
