The May thread reminded me I'm probably not gonna play TYD. I still haven't played the RPG remake. TBH the art is kinda off putting to me for some reason. In the original Mario's chibi body felt riiiiiiiiiiiight. Here it just looks well not cosmetically pleasing. Am I crazy? One of my favorite games ever and I'm just like... man I'd rather just play the first.

Usually when developers 'zhush' up their games they tend to go overboard. Square are the biggest offenders and their FF remakes all look trite. I actually thought Mario RPG was one of the better attempts, I just didn't have any interest in paying full retail for what was essentially a SNES game. Same deal with Link's Awakening - go A Link Between Worlds or go home.

If you're talking TTYD, it looks faithful to the original. How faithful we'll find out, but Nintendo are promising some QOL changes and extra content so I'm keen to check it out.

Speaking of remakes, isn't Luigi's Mansion 2 basically a port of the 3DS original? Kind of a bummer if that's the case and I wish they treated it more like the red-headed stepchild and just brought back the original. Make the Switch a full-blown GameCube portable.

Has anyone ever played through Mario 1 proper? I mean the FULL game not the two warps that skip most of it. I played through it fully to 8-4 but my mind could not wrap my head around the order of the castle so I gave up LOL. Coulda looked it up, but I was kinda bored by the end. First time I ever didn't just do the 2 pipes in 1-2 and 4-2.

Also why didn't Bowser ever employ the invincible Thwomps from the og Rainbow Road?

Something that throws me off replaying classic Sonic games... the concept that you can't stomp on an enemy from falling down. You gotta be in dash mode. Guess that's why he's called jumpman.

Will mark out if we get the new Astro's game that we deserve, Astro's Playroom was a banger as a throw in for the PS5 on launch. No idea what else is coming from Sony, just a matter of how much they're willing to share or not. 

Hate hate the 6PM EST time on a workweek though, awful timing. Sony never learns.

Saw this on one of those "explainthejoke" reddit pages. Reminds me of a line I heard at my last job. Team lead put some notes on the order page for me and I didn't understand it. Younger coworker quipped that he used confusion - it's super effective.

Both Dr. Disrespect and Twitch look absolutely awful after what has gone down the last 24-48 hours. I know this was an ongoing elephant in the room but man....3 major fuckups by Dr. Disrespect should do him in from getting serious sponsorships and the like(Dude was standing in front of The Undertaker in a WWE promo like 3 years ago) but Twitch employees jokingly saying if their comedy shows sell out that they will release the details as to the infamous Twitch ban from a few years ago. They looked for an out of the contract that they signed of Dr Disrespect after their Microsoft competitor when it was around was signing people left and right. Just a dumb business and moral decision by Dr. Disrespect to throw your career away from doing shameful shit like inappropriately texting a minor, fucking dumb icky shit.

Yeah all of the stuff coming out from Dr Disrespect with him now sexting back and forth with a Transsexual adult worker at the infamous TwitchCon where he fucked up massively(By the looks of it) may very well end Dr D's career, at least of being serious. Not sure if it was @ness, or Lony who said they were a big fan of the JaK and Daxter series (or maybe it could have been Ratchet) but Daxter, the PSP game, got a PS4/PS5 port. Was browsing the store and saw this for 9.99. This was probably the only game I didn't play from the portables, as I didn't have a PSP nor did this arrive as a PS2 port but now I can finally play it. Sadly no trophy support but has upscaled and rewind feature.

Funny enough Lego Star Wars II (from PS2/PSP) also got a port as well, which seems strange. why not rerelease the OG Collection again? Another game called Ghosthunter is also in this small list of ports.

I am so glad you mentioned this, this must have been new. This and Lost Frontier are the lone games of the series I have yet to play so might sneak these in during downtime(AKA right now). I am playing Daxter for PS5....and I have trophy support? Got like 9 trophies in the span of 45 minutes thus far into Daxter, not bad. :lol:

Was actually on autopay for my PS Plus(Premium) subscription which angered me as I had credit set up solely for Shadow of the Erdtree and it got used up. Biggest gaming blunder for me but this also means games like Daxter & Lost Frontier are free for me so gotta take advantage. 

Daxter is pretty fun, even if simplistic. Yeah Lost Frontier sounds like a real departure from the Jak trilogy. Played the demo ages ago on the PSP did not like it but maybe I give it a shot down the road.

Sony has been cooking with some of these old PS2/PSP releases. They have also released Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters just recently. A game that I played on the PS2 but apparently this is the PSP version uspcalled but with trophies. Also they released a month or so back Sly Cooper the first one. Kinda crazy not seeing these being announced in a trailer. At least a trailer saying that they are there. I know if they put out GTA Liberty City Stories and/or Vice City Stories, i'll be there for it.

That and Secret agent clank need to get on the store! 

Daxter has been surprisingly fun thus far, I know it's a short game but I am liking it! Even if the minigames are getting really repetitive(I am loving the movie homages, feels almost Gex-like) with button pressing at the right time. 

Believe the hype G/B . Can't wait for September 6th. Small snippet of Astro Bot gameplay.

This, the new Zelda game and Metaphor in the span of like a month/month and a week is stupid good. My top 3 most anticipated titles for the rest of the year. 

A few Earthworm Jim vids popped into my feed recently and they all make a comment, they consider Jim to be a Sega name. Do you agree with that? In terms of output he's been on Nintendo more, so is it more of a "tude" vibe that he feels like he fits in better with Blast Processing... plus feels like they're throwing them a bone. Compared to DK, Link and co. Alex Kidd is a jobber. More personality and a bit of edge just felt more at home with Sega. Maybe it's like Sony and Spiderman. Nintendo be like you can use em, but you'll never HAVE em.
