I don’t know. I don’t blame him for taking his stance but I also don’t blame the Chargers for being reluctant. Honestly if I were the Chargers I’d trade him for as much as a team was willing to give and move on. I think that’s the safest bet. I heard the Packers as potential trade partners and I would be incredibly annoyed. I love Gordon and have since the Badgers but I just don’t trust running backs. I don’t get why the Packers don’t like Aaron Jones! Shit. A 1 for 1 trade would be cool.

I don't know if he's going to be the plan. Honestly, GB should just go for it with Melvin Gordon. Get the Wisconsin product and relieve Aaron Jones of the purgatory they have him in. I think he's so good that it drives me crazy he doesn't get used as much as he should. Same with Kerryon Johnson in Detroit. Can't wait to talk about the NFC North. Some teams really piss me off over there.

No. Melvin Gordon isn’t going to change the direction of the Packers.
Jamal Williams isn’t going to be hard to usurp.

THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL LIV MIAMI, FLORIDA
Denver Broncos I'M GUNNA TAKE MY HORSE TO THAT OLD TOWN ROAD
I really wanted to use a Joe Flacco picture. Or a better one where John Elway is looking down at his failed QB's Post-Manning, but I decided to be fair to all teams. So I decided to highlight the best player on the team. But anyways; welcome to Denver, Joe Flacco!
Here's an optimistic and dope fact. The last EIGHT Super Bowls featured these 3: The Patriots, the Denver Broncos and Joe Flacco!
That means 8 years of Super Bowl football with at least 1 of the 3 themes. No Aaron Rodgers! No Drew Brees! Yeah, that's right UT and @theshow . What an interesting find!
Last season, the Denver Broncos got off to a hot start. Many people had them pegged for a deep run and they were supposed to be Kansas City's offense Kyrptonite. After starting the season 2-0, they suffered a loss to (you guessed it!) Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens. They followed that by losing a tight game to the Chiefs. 6 of their 10 losses last season came by 1 TD or less. They were in games. They just couldn't capitalize when they needed to. Is Joe Flacco that answer? Possibly.
In a lost 6-10 season, they did find a hidden gem in RB Philip Lindsay. They drafted Royce Freeman to be their new RB of the future, but he was quickly overtaken by Lindsay. His season ended prematurely with a bad wrist injury. Everyone is expecting that BOTH men will have a better season this year. My question remains; will Freeman take back his job from Lindsay? Or is Lindsay the answer?
Anyways, I feel bad for Joe Flacco. He's become this butt of a joke of sorts. A Super Bowl winning QB who kind of gets mocked and gets his championship called a fluke. The dude might not be this ultra amazing QB, but with a great defense he is capable of keeping his teams in games. He probably could've led the Ravens to a second Super Bowl too if Billy Cundiff didn't miss a chip shot FG against New England. So it could really be 4. 50%! So is Joe Flacco as bad as they say he is? I don't think so. I think he's the perfect fit for this Broncos team. To be honest, I think Joe Flacco is their starter for the next 2-3 years. Which means that Drew Lock might be sitting on the bench for awhileif he ever signs. They added another Big 12 All American Tight End with their first round draft pick taking Noah Fant. Their offense is average at best if you take a look at their receiving targets. Is Courtland Sutton going to take the next step? Is Dasean Hamilton the answer? Can either one of these young guys click with Joe Flacco this quickly? Will the Broncos even need a star on the offense? Or a mistake-free team? Because the only thing that is for sure about the Denver Broncos is their DEFENSE!
The Broncos D will continue to be what leads them to the playoffs. Honestly, they have such a great defense that this team could overtake this division very quickly. Von Miller continues to be dominant and may be the best defensive player they have ever had when his career is done. Their line is solid, linebackers are solid, cornerbacks and safeties are also solid. I don't think it's that great defense that won a Super Bowl, but the potential is there. They're being projected to be middle of the road (17th ranked) defense this upcoming season. I'm expecting a little bit better.
The Broncos are coming into this season after improving to 6-10 last season from a 5-11 season. I'm curious as to where I project them this season with the addition of Joe Flacco. They head into the 2019 season with the second hardest SOS, only better then their division rivals; the Raiders.
BOLD is for wins. ITALIC is for losses.
RAIDERS BEARS PACKERS JAGUARS CHARGERS CHIEFS TITANS COLTS BROWNS VIKINGS BILLS CHARGERS TEXANS CHIEFS LIONS RAIDERS
PREDICTION: 7-9 RECORD
I'm giving the Broncos 7 wins. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on a few games. I'll give them 3 of 4 wins against the AFC South. Their defense should be enough to beat teams with stagnant offenses ala the Titans and Lions. They were able to defeat the Steelers late in the season last year, so I'll give them that win against Houston too. Their demise will be going 2-4 against their division rivals. The growing pains will continue as they will be close in all games. However, Kansas City and Los Angeles should both sweep them. I see Denver starting and ending their season defeating the Raiders.
So I see the Broncos continuing their trend of 1 win more each season. They followed their 5 win season with a 6 win season last year. Now I'll keep that trend going and send the Broncos to a near .500 record. The seat will officially become a 'hot seat' next year for John Elway, though so he better figure this shit out.
However, there is a world where I am totally wrong about this team. Maybe Joe Flacco comes out playing like a mad man and he outduels Trubisky Week 2 and beats the Bears. They can follow that up with their defense smothering Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. There is a world where Flacco plays closer to great then closer to average. There is a world where this defense returns to a dominant form. There is a world where Joe Flacco is on the field in Miami in February playing for his 2nd Super Bowl ring. There is a world where John Elway got it right this time.
PS- This sites orange is too brown to be orange!
FANTASY FOOTBALL- 12PPR ADP DENVER BRONCOS Philip Lindsay (4.07) Royce Freeman (8.06) Courtland Sutton (9.07) Emmanuel Sanders (10.12) Noah Fant (13.11)
Alright, so this is definitely not an exciting offense to try and build your fantasy team around. To be honest, I'm really not excited to have anyone of these players 'fall into my lap'. But some can become something.
For example; this years highest fantasy rated player is Philip Lindsay. Talk about a late round steal last year. Shit, scratch that. I doubt anyone drafted him. This dude was a Free Agency gem. However, I'm not too high on him this year. That wrist injury late in the season could still linger. He is a strong possibility for losing his starting job this season. Especially if that wrist injury resurfaces or it becomes a fumbling issue. Whatever the case may be, this kid has an amazing story and you can't help but root for him. RB's going a little after are guys like Chris Carson and Kenyan Drake. Lindsay isn't a bad pick in that situation if you are looking for a RB2 or even RB3 if you're going RB heavy. I am not saying that I am against it, but I'm definitely treading carefully.
Royce Freeman was a 5th/6th round pick last year. He was supposed to be a 'league winner' at his position. The hype was real. People believed in him and then Philip Lindsay happened. People are expecting him to possibly take back his starting position this season. The warning signs are there for Lindsay, but is a 'possibility' worth an 8th round pick? Does Royce Freeman fit the criteria of a fantasy football RB? The RBs going around that area are guys that you pick if you do NOT believe in that teams starter. Royce Freeman is going slightly ahead of Ronald Jones and Carlos Hyde. Heck, all these guys are going ahead of starters like Adrian Peterson, Lesean McCoy and even Rojo's competition; Peyton Barber! So in the big picture, Royce Freeman is not a bad pick. However, by round 8, I'm hoping I'm in a position where my RB's are filled much better then these selections. I ain't against Royce taking the starter job though. Just unsure about his production on a fantasy level.
Courtland Sutton is the man that is getting the most hype of this team. Everyone is expecting him to blow up and be a break out star. He has the talent, but I don't know if he's got the QB to get him there. Last year, he looked above average. Now he is being handed the team as his own. No Demaryus Thomas. An injured, not as good Emmanuel Sanders. The WR1 spot is his for the taking. The question is; can Flacco to Sutton work? A few WR's going slightly after him are DJ Metcalf, Geronimo Allison and Larry 'Legend' Fitzgerald. Do you believe in Flacco-Sutton? Or do you believe in Russel Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and whatever high powered offense Arizona has in store? Tough decision.
Emmanuel Sanders being drafted at all blows my mind. I don't see any way this guy can bounce back at this age (32) and have a productive enough season that you are actually drafting him. I mean, why bother holding him on your bench? Do you really think he's going to do anything to warrant himself a starter spot? DO NOT DRAFT! Go for upside players this late. Not old, broken down guys like Sanders. Sorry to the guy; I'm sure he's a nice dude. I am not betting money and having him on my roster. Unreal that he's still considered that high with Joe Flacco as his QB. Nobody is drafting Flacco! Why draft Sanders?!
Noah Fant is one of those mediocre TE's people who are skipping on the big names are hoping can explode this year. I don't mind the pick, to be honest. The WR's are young and will still be learning. The question to me that scares me is if this guy is really their starter? I'm sure he's their pass catching TE, but it's because every other elite TE from college that they drafted seems to always get injured. I understand people drafting him at a weak position, but I'm good. I would take Jimmy Graham and Kyle Rudolph over this guy and they are going AFTER him in drafts.
Picking my favorite player is tough. Chances are I have zero shares of Broncos on any of my teams. I'm just going to pick the man in a not so bad spot if you're going RB heavy. Heck, it's not even too bad if you went WR heavy and have this guy as your first RB drafted.
My favorite fantasy draft pick on this team: Philip Lindsay (4.07)

I think the Chargers would be crazy to give MG3 a new contract. He's good but feels pretty replaceable, and the Chargers already have good RB depth with Ekeler and Jackson.
The situation is a little bit different in Dallas where Zeke is so crucial to their identity.

THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL LIV MIAMI, FLORIDA
OAKLAND RAIDERS
IT'S A HARD KNOCK LIFE!
Or it used to be. Ladies and gentlemen, Chucky presents to you the new look RAIDAHZ~!
At WR, we present to you the best in the game; Antonio Brown!
At GUARD, we present to you Richie Incognito!
And at LB, we present to you Vontaze Burfict!
REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD~!
Yes sir! This shit was MADE FOR TV!
So last season, the Raiders ended the season at the bottom of their division at 4-12 in the return season for John Gruden. They finished a dismal 1-7 on the road, but were partially responsible for knocking the Steelers (and Antonio Brown~!) out of the playoffs last season with that huge Week 15 upset. They traded away two cornerstones of their team in LB Khalil Mack and WR Amari Cooper. Two guys who went to new teams and played great AND made the playoffs. The 10 year contract for John Gruden came with a lot of ridicule. Especially when it came to getting rid of those two players.
However, the confusion continued into the off season as the Raiders went into the draft with a bunch of first round picks. The first pick (#4 overall) may have been the biggest surprise of the draft up until the Giants picked. They took DE Clelin Ferrell over who everyone thought they would take in Josh Allen. Their next pick was the pick they traded Khalil Mack for and they took the first RB off the board in Josh Jacobs (24th overall) out of Alabama. Using the pick they got for Amari Cooper, they selected S Johnathan Abram (27th overall) from Mississippi State. Needless to say, a lot of people were confused by those selections.
But who are we to judge John Gruden and his masterplan? What if Josh Allen is a bust and Ferrell is a beast? What if Josh Jacobs is the best RB Oakland has had in a decade? What if Abram becomes a Pro Bowl Safety? Will it all be forgiven for sacrificing Mack and Cooper? Time will tell.
Heading into this season, this is a new look Raiders team. They got new pieces to their defense, new pieces to their offense and a superstar future HOFer at WR. Let's focus quick on Antonio Brown first. I decided to look at when Jerry Rice joined the Raiders. After two straight seasons of less then 1,000 yards in San Francisco, Jerry Rice started up his Oakland career with 2 straight years of 1,000+ yards receiving. Antonio Brown has yet to have less then 1,000 yards since his rookie season. So does somebody want to explain to me why people think Antonio Brown is going to regress?
Derek Carr? Okay, so let's focus on Derek Carr then. After a 3-13 first season, he came back and led the Raiders to a 7-9 record the next season. The big season was his 3rd season (12-4 record). The Raiders went into those playoffs as Super Bowl favorites UNTIL Derek Carr got injured. The following two seasons after that were losing seasons for the Raiders. So even though Derek Carr has been injured and ONLY missed 2 regular season games, people have labeled him as a scrub. Even though he was signed to a contract extension in 2017. EVEN THOUGH he threw for the most passing yards of his career last season with scrubs as his WR's. So what's the deal? Is it because people just assume John Gruden wants to find his 'own' QB? Why do we assume that? When has John Gruden really hunted for his own QB? Rich Gannon? Brad Johnson? Why is Derek Carr going to be different? I don't get it. Someone explain to me why everyone is so down on Derek Carr? I think Antonio Brown is going to be just fine with Oakland.
So the Raiders defense is probably going to be their demise this season. It's a shame. The fact that Gruden got a 10 year contract (he probably wont coach out the whole decade) makes me realize that this team is not given to him on a 2 year plan. The confusing roster moves is all a part of this long road plan. I am going to stay on my wait and see approach. I think Gruden knows what he's doing. This is going to be a team that's a force to be reckoned with.... next season.
The Raiders will be coming into this year with the toughest SOS in the whole NFL. Honestly, their schedule is FUCKED UP! Hell, their schedule is so FUCKED UP that even the NFL Executives admitted to messing up their schedule (along with the Buccaneers) for this season. Both of those teams (GRUDEN TEAMS!) will spend 6 weeks straight AWAY this season. They're on the road for weeks 3 and 4 and then their 'home game' is in London against the Bears before they return back to the US with 2 more road games! Disgusting!
Here's the exact quote from the NFL Executive:
“This is one that the NFL would love to have back. It’s certainly not unusual for an NFL team to have one home game over a six-week stretch. But when that one home (game) isn’t actually home, this is likely something that the NFL would seek to avoid in the future. I'd love a redo on that one."
FUCKED UP!
Let's take a look at their schedule for this season and try and figure out what their end of season record will be.
BOLD is for wins. ITALIC is for losses.
BRONCOS CHIEFS VIKINGS COLTS BEARS PACKERS TEXANS LIONS CHARGERS BENGALS JETS CHIEFS TITANS JAGUARS CHARGERS BRONCOS
PREDICTION: 7-9 RECORD
So the first thing that might catch your eye is a 7-9 record. Shit, I honestly have this weird feeling they will finish BETTER then 7-9, but I don't want to sound like a mad man. The biggest upset on their schedule is against the Bears. Now hear me out before you go ape shit. There is a huge possibility that the Bears blow them out in London and Khalil Mack sacks Carr 5 times in that game. However, I've been noticing that some weird shit tends to always happen in these London games. Teams that have no businesses winning not only pull off the upset, but find a way to dominate the better team. So it may seem farfetched, but London football always has some random shit happening there.
The most frustrating part for the Raiders and how I have their season playing out is that they will head into Week 15 against the Jaguars with a 7-6 record. People will be believing in the Raiders and thinking that there is a possibility they can make the playoffs. However, that time of the year is the 'Nick Foles time of year' and I see the Raiders squandering that opportunity. To make matters worse, the following week they get blown out by the Chargers who are trying to secure the division title AND bye week. Even though they somehow split with the Chiefs and the Chargers this season, they are unable to find a way to score on the Broncos and get swept.
The Raiders lose their final 3 games and people start to blame Derek Carr. The Raiders head into the off-season improved with a 7-9 record, but they have many questions about their future. Especially after blowing an opportunity to sneak into the playoffs with 3 straight losses to end the season.
OR I could be wrong and the Oakland Raiders return to their 2016 form and look dominant, again. As a matter of fact, I hope I'm wrong. This team is in my top 5 teams that I am excited to see play this season. I hope I'm so wrong that they head to Miami and win Oakland a Super Bowl as a going away present!
However, since they're moving to Las Vegas, I find it appropriate to use this term:
DON'T BET ON IT!
FANTASY FOOTBALL- 12PPR ADP OAKLAND RAIDERS Antonio Brown (2.09) Josh Jacobs (3.08) Tyrell Williams (13.07) Derek Carr (14.09)
Antonio Brown is being DISRESPECTED and I am honestly pissed off about it. Not only is he being disrespected by the media, but even the fantasy calculation people are writing him off. Well I say, 'write him off and write me my check'! If I am able to grab Antonio Brown at the 2.09 spot, that means I had the 4th overall pick in the draft. That means I got either Zeke, Barkley, CMC or Kamara. Heck, maybe I picked David Johnson in that spot. So you're going to tell me I can snatch up Antonio Brown as my WR1 with one of those studs as my RB1? Thank you and sign me up! Antonio Brown is going to go for 100+ receptions and 1200+ receiving yards this season. He is going to be fed, fed, fed. TD's are the hardest thing to project in the NFL, but I'm sure he'll find the end zone. Sign me the fuck up for this man. Steal of the draft at his ADP, in my opinion.
Josh Jacobs is a rookie and he is going in the 3rd round. For the past 3 years, a rookie RB as finished in the top 10 for fantasy football RBs. That's ridiculous. Add in the fact that John Gruden loves to have a bellcow RB and this guy could be the real deal! However, in fantasy, it is scary to bank on a rookie RB in the 3rd round. Do you believe this guy has what it takes to be the best? If so, he should have no problem winning OROTY over Kyle Murray, right? In the Vegas odds, Josh Jacobs has the second best odds to win it. To be honest, I'm nervous snatching up Josh Jacobs in the 3rd round. Even if it's late in the 3rd round. Maybe if he slips into the 4th round, I'll take him. You got RB's like Devonte Freeman, Mark Ingram and fellow rookie RB David Montgomery going around that area. So are guys like Thielen, Tyreek and Ertz. I'm going to have to really be sold on him to grab him that early. He's a "see how my draft has played out" pick for me. Maybe if I go WR/WR first two picks, I'll try and grab him with Freeman. 2 years ago, I had CMC/Fournette as my RB1/RB2 and they were both rookies. It worked out well. Maybe I do rookie/rookie again and grab him with Montgomery. I don't know. I am not a fan of grabbing him 3rd round, to be honest. Who knows who Gruden likes anyways.
Tyrell Williams is the next Raider off the board and he's going 10 rounds later. No love for this offense this year. There's a real possibility that this man has a career year this year with AB getting a lot of attention. He had a pretty good season last year across from Keenan Allen. I don't know. I guess he just hasn't proved anything to me throughout his career where he looks like a good selection to me. He's kind of on an island by himself in that area as a WR. He's surrounded by a bunch of handcuff RB's and if I'm drafting someone that late, I'm taking those handcuffs over Tyrell Williams.
Derek Carr is the 2nd to last QB off the board, only ahead of Sam Darnold. It sounds worse then it is. A LOT of QB's don't even make the list, so the fact that he's still on it means there are some believers. I have no problem grabbing Derek Carr as my QB2. His end of year schedule against the Jaguars/Chargers in the playoff games does not appeal to me and means he will NEVER be my QB1.
My favorite fantasy draft pick on this team: Antonio Brown!!!! (2.09)

BREAKING NEWS
NO SUSPENSION!
As soon as I finish my wrap up of the AFC West, the NFL announces that Tyreek Hill will NOT be punished. He will not be suspended. That changes everything, in my opinion. I was expecting a 4 game suspension and a game or two for Hill to get back into form. So my 9-7 projection is probably wrong. They're looking more at an 11-5, 12-4 record again. BUT I'm going to be a man of my words and stick to that projection. Cheetah or no Cheetah.
As for fantasy football, this skyrockets him into a 2nd round draft pick. Now that the uncertainty is gone, so is stealing him in the late 3rd round, early 4th round. He is back to being one of the top 5-10 WR's in fantasy football. It also solidifies Mahomes as the favorite to be QB1 again. It also might affect Travis Kelce as a high 2nd round pick not that the expectations of him being heavily fed due to Tyreeks absence are gone. So I can see Kelce falling into the mid 3rd round and Hill taking his spot in the 2nd round.
Below is the statement that the NFL released involving the NO-suspension:
“In conducting our investigation, we have taken great care to ensure that we do not interfere with the county's proceedings or compromise the privacy or welfare of the child in any way," the statement read. "The information developed in the court proceeding is confidential and has not been shared with us, and the court has sealed all law enforcement records. Local law enforcement authorities have publicly advised that the available evidence does not permit them to determine who caused the child's injuries.”

BREAKING NEWS
New York Jets Tight End, Chris Herndon, has been suspended for the first four games of the 2019 NFL season for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. This stems from an arrest in June 2018 when Herndon was involved in a two-car crash in Rockaway, NJ. He would go on to plead guilty to driving while intoxicated in January.
He will miss Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, Week 2 against the Browns, Week 3 against the Patriots and Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He will return in Week 6 against the Cowboys.
Unfortunate, but expected news. I forgot about it when I did my write up on the Jets and Herndon. I'm hoping he gets his life together, considering this is eerily familiar to the way Austin Seferian Jenkins spent the beginning of his career dealing with alcoholism. Hopefully this is more to do with age (23) and immaturity and doesn't become a bigger problem.
Great thread Kid. The sad part is, he is getting two games because of a "He said, she said" dispute at the scene of the crime. Nothing concrete, NFL is suspending him two additional games because of the dispute at the scene. He deserves two games for the DUI alone and nothing more than that. Herndon has been a great citizen since and isn't still struggling with his addiction like ASJ seems to be yet again. He's going to be a real factor for Darnold this year and in the future IMO. He has admitted his mistake and I think has been very good since and on good behavior. Not like a Darron Lee case or anything of that nature. He should win his appeal and get it lowered to 2 games.

Herndon made a dumb mistake and should be lucky to be alive as well as who he drove into but c'mon. I know you understandably feel against DUIs but Incognito like Tyreek Hill has a history of this and Incognito is about 10 years older than Herndon why does he continue to get the benefit of the doubt?

Please. If he was a regular joe he'd be in jail. Any NFL player who gets a DUI is a complete moron when they have a free driving service available to them. He deserves zero sympathy whatsoever. Anyone with access to Uber or Lyft that gets a DUI is a moron. I went out for my birthday last week and it cost 17 dollars for a 20 minute drive home. That’s not out pricing the market in any sense. It just makes it all that much more egregious when someone who makes the money these guys make drinks and drives. Fucking idiots. It’s not a sense of who’s more right or more wrong , they all suck and arguing any type of leniency for an act that can easily kill someone is ridiculous. Where I work if we get any DUI or Violent Crime on our record and we can’t work there. No questions asked. You’re done. And I only make 70k a year - yet these fucking idiots make millions and people are arguing on the internet they deserve a break for being stupid or young.

The argument isn't that a DUI should not be punished, it's that worse offenders in the past aren't punished more, which makes this punishment system very hokey IMO.
I also think a dispute at the scene of the crime should not equal to the actual DUI charge. The former should mean any injuries or damages should be paid entirely by the person at fault. It's not a break that they are young or stupid, just when a long time veteran with numerous issues behind him like Incognito is suspended less than a first time breaker is suspect. Sorry.

I don't have a problem with the idea that the NFL suspension setup is a complete farce - it is an arbitrary joke - but I don't think you can use one bad decision to argue that another judgement should have been more lenient. In my opinion Incognito's behaviour is being enabled by the league when he should be receiving proper mental health treatment, and Herndon should be seeing some time in jail.

Well the Jets signed another man with an alcohol induced incident to replace Herndon so there’s that. Jets like TEs with drinking problems.

THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL LIV MIAMI, FLORIDA
CLEVELAND BROWNSLadies and gentlemen; welcome to:
THE DAWG POUND!
Baker!
OBJ!
Juice!
Chubb!
Hunt!
Njoku!
And that's just the offense!
If I had to put together a list of teams I am most excited to see this coming season, the top of my list would definitely have the Cleveland Browns. I mean, besides the fact that they signed OB-fucking-J this offseason, this team is absolutely stacked on offense. They signed Kareem Hunt, too, but he will be 'kicking rocks' for 8 games serving his suspension. Baker Mayfield was fucking awesome towards the end of the season and helped this Browns team finish 7-8-1. The moment this man took over for the injured Tyrod Taylor and led the Browns to a come from behind victory against fellow rookie Sam Darnold; this dude became legit. There is no if, ands or butts; Baker Mayfield is the savior of the Cleveland Browns. You can finally throw out your Browns QB jerseys with the 70 names on it, because Baker Mayfield is here!
I'm going to skim right through last season quick. The Browns came in with Baker and Chubb as back ups. By the time the season came to an end, Baker and Chubb were starters. Tyrod and Hyde were either benched or traded. There is honestly a chance this team could have made the playoffs last year had they just went with Baker/Chubb right away. Both men are going to come into their second season in the NFL with high expectations. Many are expecting Chubb to be an every down back until Hunt comes back and then join a committee. Some expect Chubb to take the job and run away with it. I'm on that side. By the time Kareem Hunt is back, Chubb will already own this backfield and will be no threat to the starting job. Hunt is here on a 'prove it' 1 year deal, so there is that chance the Browns run through him a lot to end the season. Because they do want to protect their future in Chubb. Duke Johnson sees the writing on the wall and feels misused by this team. He has requested a trade. As of July 24th, he has yet to get one. Some rumored spots that could have Duke go to are Tampa Bay, Miami and Houston. All would be interesting, especially Tampa Bay. You have to be crazy to want out of this Cleveland team, though.
The main story on this offense is OBJ. This man just finished an ugly divorce with the Giants. He gets to go from a vet Eli Manning to up and coming youngster Baker Mayfield. If you don't think this means OBJ is going to be a machine, you are crazy. The crazy part is that Baker is going to need more then one football to feed these weapons. You got Jarvis Landry who is without a doubt the most underrated player in the NFL. His 481 receptions through his first 5 seasons are an NFL RECORD! No other player has more then 426. That is incredible. Will we see a decline in his receptions this year with OBJ on his side? Possibly, but we could also see Baker Mayfield put on an MVP season this year. It would not surprise me one bit.
Other options for Baker to pass to are TE David Njoku, who some are expecting to have a blowup year. Hard to project that with the weapons surrounding him. As a security blanket, he could be incredible. Antonio Callaway came into the NFL with some hype last season, but also suffered with the most dropped passes in the NFL. Honestly, this dude screwed Baker out of a few passing TD's last season. If he doesn't improve on his catching, this guy may not be seeing the field too much this year. He's got the speed. He just needs the hands. Newly signed Rashad Higgins could play his way into the WR3 spot for this team. While on the topic of WR's, allow me to share this awesome throwback picture of young OBJ and young Juice.
If you look at the offense, the Browns have a legitimate chance to be #1 in a lot of categories this season. You swing your attention over to their defense and you see Myles Garrett smiling at you. Another top pick for the Cleveland Browns will be looking to have a blow up season this year. After releasing Jamie Collins and losing Jabril Peppers in the OBJ trade, the Cleveland Browns revamped their defense with some interesting pick ups. They scooped up Oliver Vernon with the OBJ trade. They also traded Emmanuel Ogbah to the Chiefs for Eric Murray. They signed Sheldon Richardson. They also scooped up Greedy Williams and Morgan Burnett. Is this defense going to be dominant after losing Greg Williams? That's to be seen, but I certainly believe they will be an above average D.
New Head Coach, Freddie Kitchens got himself a 'Nick Nurse problem'. He is being handed gold with his first coaching job. The only question remains, can he lead this team to a championship as well? They come into this season with the 23rd ranked SOS. Let's take a look at that schedule and see where they end the season.
BOLD is for wins. ITALIC is for losses.
TITANS JETS RAMS RAVENS 49ERS SEAHAWKS PATRIOTS BRONCOS BILLS STEELERS DOLPHINS STEELERS BENGALS CARDINALS RAVENS BENGALS
PREDICTION: 11-5 RECORD
Honestly, looking at the Browns schedule, there is a bunch of games I am highly anticipating. First off, they start the season with the Titans where we will get the chance to see what the Browns look like with this new team on the field; at HOME! The Cleveland crowd is going to be absolutely fucking lit for this one. The following week, we get a full on Baker/Darnold showdown. Is it Baker/Darnold II or Baker/Darnold 1 1/2? So many interesting things going on in that game with two new look teams.
Now that's just the first TWO games of the season. The third game is against the defending NFC Champions, the Los Angeles Rams. I can see the Browns getting off to a 2-0 start and getting hit with a reality check here as the Rams find a way to shut down and decimate the Browns in this match up. Still a game to absolutely look forward to. I mean, look at this schedule. We get to see the Browns go against Russel Wilson and the Seahawks. The hopefully healthier San Francisco 49ers led by Jimmy G. The aforementioned showdown against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots! If the Browns can have it their way, this will be the passing of the torch moment. However, I see the Bellicheck figuring out a way to shut down the Browns in this game and picking up the dub in Foxborough. Now, to be honest, if my season projections are on point (and yes, I'm on some hype trains this off-season), I am most looking forward to that Week 15 showdown between Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. Back to back #1 overall picks in the NFL Draft. Back to back QB's coming out of Oklahoma. I mean, if the Arizona offense is as hyperactive as projected, this game is going to be off the fucking charts! So off the charts that I actually see Murray leading Arizona to a huge victory in this one.
So focusing on their losses; here's how I project them going down. The Rams just overpower Cleveland in this one. Cleveland meets it's first heavyweight of the season after Tennessee and the Jets. Two weeks later, they run into an offense that manages to out score them with some new schemes in San Francisco. Jimmy G is one of the favorites to win Comeback Player of the Year and the Browns fall victim in this one. After beating Russel Wilson, the Browns go into their BYE. That gives them TWO weeks to game plan to beat the Patriots. Realistically, the Browns should beat them after a BYE. However, as I stated earlier, I think Belicheck finds a way. The Browns leave the game pissed off and Baker Mayfield comes out in MVP-mode. After ripping off 4 straight wins, including Pitt, they end up losing on the road AGAIN. So they split the season series with the Steelers with both teams winning their home games. They lose one more time to Kyler Murray in a shoot out, game of the season candidate. They finish their sweeps of division rivals Baltimore and Cincinnati and they leave the season....
.... THE KINGS OF THE NORTH!
Those are my projections for this team. Some "Dream Teams" don't work out in the NFL. Ask the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles who killed it in the off season. They bought in Vince Young, Ndmadi Asomougha, Jason Babin, Dominique Rodgers Cromartie and the other Steve Smith. They had a super hyped off season and yet, they still failed. Asomougha was called the best CB in the NFL before he failed with Philly. Babin called the Eagles the "Miami Heat of the NFL". Vince Young infamously named them the "Dream Team". They beat the Rams in Week 1, lost 4 in a row and completely fell apart. That "Dream Team" finished 8-8 and followed up the next season with a 4-12 record. That would be Andy Reid's final season in Philly AND last losing season.
Some dreams turn into nightmares. There is differences between that 2011 Eagles team and this new look Browns team. Baker is better then Young and Vick. That hurt to say. Asomougha was 30 when he went to Philly, the Browns defense is young. OBJ is way better then the other Steve Smith WR acquisition. The Browns have a much better team. However, I haven't seen a team with off season moves this hyped since then. It got me feeling concerned, but fuck it. I'm riding this Hype Train all day.
So will the Kings of the North reign supreme in the NFL like they did in the NBA? Or will the Cleveland Browns completely crumble? Will the Dawg Pound EAT in Miami in February? Will the Cleveland Browns bring the Super Bowl trophy to Cleveland?
It's time to BELIEVE in the LAND!
FANTASY FOOTBALL- 12PPR ADP CLEVELAND BROWNS Odell Beckham Jr (2.01) Nick Chubb (2.10) Jarvis Landry (5.07) Baker Mayfield (6.07) David Njoku (8.05)
OBJ is going at the top of the 2nd round. Doing a bunch of mocks, majority of people are feasting on RBs early. Only 4 WR's (33%) are going in the 1st round. OBJ is ranked #5. The 2nd round has 6 WR's (50%) going and OBJ leads the pack. So if you're at the turn, 12th pick, you're able to double up OBJ with Mixon, Conner, AB or Cheetah. It's literally a perfect place to draft from. If you're picking at the 2.01 spot, you're basically picking at the 1.12 spot. So if you want, you're snatching OBJ first or second. The choice is yours. Injuries remain a huge concern for OBJ. Maybe the Cleveland air rejuvenates him or maybe the "dream" becomes a "nightmare" and it's OBJ who falls victim to another unfortunate injury. It's a risky pick to start your draft on the turn. If he gets hurt, you're fucked. If he blows up, you have potential to have a top 1-3 WR in fantasy sports.
Nick Chubb is going in the back end of the 2nd round. Love that pick. At the 2.10 park, you're most likely pairing him up with either CMC or Kamara. Maybe Zeke or Barkley if the top 2 picks went CMC/Kamara. Either way, you're starting your draft with two stud RB1s. An amazing way to start. A lot of people are extremely worried about drafting Nick Chubb and his value has dropped from high to mid 2nd round to late in the 2nd round. Everyone is expecting Kareem Hunt to come and take a lot of play away from Chubb when it matters the most in fantasy sports. The Week 10-playoffs area. Good luck trading Chubb if he is on your team, too. Nobody is willing to accept it with Hunt coming unless you sell yourself short. It's almost like James Conner last season. Nobody wanted to trade for him because everyone assumed Leveon Bell was coming back. He never did. James Conner dominated. Until he got injured for the fantasy fucking playoffs. Asshole. As for Chubb, I will gladly take him and hopefully he can help me to an 8-0 start and hopefully by Week 10, my bench has enough RB potential in case Chubb falls off a cliff.
Jarvis Landry going in the middle of the 5th round is FUCKING CRIMINAL! My goodness. AB is the most underrated QB in this draft and Landry is right behind him in 2nd. I stated this earlier, but Jarvis Landry has an NFL RECORD of 481 receptions through his first 5 NFL seasons. Yes, they added OBJ. So what? Does that mean OBJ is going to get every target? Nope. Most likely situation for Landry is that he gets a more complete season with the best CB on opposing teams guarding OBJ. Jarvis Landry and OBJ are two guys I expect going for 100/1,000 each. Landry fell 24 yards short last season and 13 yards short the year before. Now he has OBJ on the other side of him. That might sound like regression is coming, but to me, it's dominance. I love Landry in the 5th round as a WR2 or WR3 option. Incredible value.
Listen, if I get OBJ or Landry on my team, I am most likely going to try and STACK them with Baker. I would love to STACK Baker/OBJ or Baker/Landry in a league. Honestly, I wouldn't be against drafting Baker without a STACK. It all really depends on what my roster looks like if I'm taking a QB in the 6th round. He's going after Watson and Rodgers. Slightly before Matt Ryan and Drew Brees. That end of Round 5, beginning of Round 6 are going to probably see a huge run on QB's being taken. If you want Baker, you better jump on him before the run takes him off the board for you. You may have to reach in the 5th or be lucky enough to have an extremely early pick in the 6th. The name and the hype, I don't see him lasting that long.
Kareem Hunt is going at 8.01 in the draft, but I skipped him and went straight to David Njoku who is at 8.05. It's almost pointless to talk about Hunt's situation and I can't predict what the Browns will do when he comes back. What is also hard to predict/project is what David Njoku will be to this offense. Sure he can be a security blanket, but with all the mouths to feed, will he suffer? It's too hard of a choice for me to take him in the 8th round. The TE landscape is not that special, but I wouldn't want to waste my pick on a TE in this crowded of an offense. Sign me out.
I want so many pieces of this offense. I really love where Landry is going and I can see him on my team more then anyone. But a man who could possibly be the best WR in fantasy football going in the 2nd round? Super tough to pick against. It's hard to know who will benefit on this team the most. One thing is for sure. When it comes to fantasy football;
THESE DAWGS ARE GOING TO EAT!
My favorite fantasy draft pick on this team: OBJ (2.01).

I think Chubb will be a monster the 1st half of the season and really good the 2nd half. As far as Hunt goes I don't know if he's the real deal or a product of the KC system?
I'm almost scared to say it but the Browns looks like a fantasy power house.

I'm almost scared to say it but the Browns looks like a fantasy power house. There really is two ways there team is going fantasy wise. They're either going to be like the Rams and Chiefs of last season where everyone ate OR they're going to be in grind games where it's going to be a team full of boom or busts. One game Chubb goes off, the next he gets single digits because OBJ and Landry go off. The following game can be a run game. Either way, you need to buy in on a team come fantasy. You either believe in the team or don't. I'm probably going to do a quick fantasy run down once I'm done with the divisions. A list of teams who I want to get players on all the way down to teams I have no interest in.

Mina Kimes' article on Baker Mayfield is a good read. The Browns really are the most interesting team heading into the new season - they're going to be fascinating and I think the sort of thing that the NFL really needs. There have been too many teams struggling in the doldrums for too long, it's time for a seachange.

I am scared of/for the Browns. I get why they are getting the hype and they definitely should be fun to watch this season but I never like when a young team gets this much smoke blown up their ass all offseason and it never seems to actually work out for them.
A few red flags for me:
Baker Mayfield - I always am skeptical of 2nd year quarterbacks until they go out and do it. I love Baker and think he can and will be really fucking good but the 2nd year is the hardest and biggest leap he has to make and that can go either way.
The Hype - Again teams that get all the offseason hype , especially teams this young could come really combust. Especially with someone like ODB on the team and in the headlines.
First year HC - It's one thing with a veteran team but Kitchens is a rookie coach on a young team and it could take awhile to strike that chord.
All that said I'll be rooting for Cleveland and hoping they make the playoffs. I also would be shocked with a 7-9 campaign while the first half of the season is ruined with learning curves and adjustments.

They are also transitioning to a 3-4 from Triple G's defense to Wilkes defense and have a new offensive coordinator(Monken who I would have been cool with as the Jets HC or even OC), not sure if Kitchens is relishing playcalling to Monken, I think he will given if I am not mistaken Monken's being paid as a top OC. I am always worried about the transition year 1 from a different defense and how the personnel responds, Wilkes saw this first hand backfire in Arizona although clearly the Browns defense is far more talented.
They also gave up Peppers in the OBJR deal and are going to utilize ex Packer Randall and a bunch of Strong Safeties that I believe are having an open competition for that starter so teams may early on go after them deep and down the field.
They will rely on O. Vernon to be a secondary pass rusher to Garrett, he was lousy with the Giants and often hurt in his brief tenure here(Don't let the pro bowl nod fool you, he was such a dud last season everyone was bewildered that he got in as a replacement) so I am curious how well he will play. Garrett can only do it alone with the pass rush on the QB. Ogbah who was hit and miss is with the Chiefs now too.

He has the 16th most pressures over the past three seasons (despite missing games with injury) and was PFFs 7th ranked edge defender last year.

Hurries are sort of skewed because they count QBs who escape the pocket as a hurry correct? It's a flawed Stat when the QB game is so heavily focused on throwing on the run and in/out of the pocket
He hadn't a sack in how many weeks? 2.5 of his seven sacks were in a meaningless Week 17 game against the Cowboys and six of his seven sacks on the year came in December when the Giants were out of it. He was a pure nonfactor from Sept to Nov, but yes he had a strong December month as the teams go to pass rusher.
Maybe going back to the 4-3 will be more up his alley but he wasnt all that great last year sorry.
I won't even bring up the number of late borderline dirty hits he caused when with Miami and he had 1-2 dirty hits with the Gmen too. His knee shot on Mariota a couple years ago is Bush league.

If AJ Green misses any time especially the whole year, given they've lost two starting olineman including their first rounder Jonah Williams and Boling retired, Dalton is Going to be in deep shit.
Dolphin fans may not like it but the Bengals may be the hot pick to land Tua. BAL, PIT and CLE going to feast on somebody this year.
Zac Taylor may be the next one and done before the Saban to NFL rumors once again happenn

Hurries are a better reflection of a pass rushers overall productivity than sacks - because sacks can often the result of a defender being unblocked due to scheme, or doing a cleanup job when a quarterback has been flushed out of the pocket towards them. Aaron Donald didn't just become the best defender in the NFL last season because he had a career year in sacks.

Im on the AFC North right now so I’ll get more into it but the injury to AJ Green is not good news. Not for the Bengals, Dalton or him. This is AJs last season under contract anyways so he’ll probably join a powerhouse next season as their WE2 or 3. But yeah, Cincinnati is going to be bottom 3 this season in the NFL.

THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL LIV MIAMI, FLORIDA
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
AND THEN THERE WAS ONE.
THE ONE TRUE KING BEE.
The remaining "B" is the only "B" who has won a Super Bowl ring. Maybe one day in the future, people will talk about the 3 B's and how they were unable to win a ring. You can thank Tom Brady or you can label Bell and AB as non-winners. One thing is for sure, Ben Roethlisberger is coming into this season with one thing in mind. REDEMPTION!
Last season started off a mess with the whole Le'Veon Bell drama. It started off as a holdout that many expected would get handled. However, filling in for Bell was James Conner who excelled in his role and continued the success that RB's have in the Pittsburgh system. We'll get into if this continues a little later. Antonio Brown was looking perfectly fine last season up until the end of the season where he "gave up on his team". The Ben and Brown beef was well illustrated, mostly through AB. The drama got so bad that former players were coming out and getting involved in it. The season had promise, but it all fell apart. In the end, Antonio Brown was benched for Week 17 and his final game as a Steeler was a Week 16 loss to the Saints.
The cookie crumbled. A tie with Cleveland because of Boswell missing multiple FGs was one piece of the crumble. Another crumb off the cookie was the upset to the Raiders. Add in James Conner missing games with an injury and this cookie fell apart. The Steelers still finished with a winning record of 9-6-1, but those two results against Cleveland and Oakland cost this team a chance in the playoffs.
Now Antonio Brown is gone. Le'Veon Bell is gone. The in-house drama has now changed to in-house hype. The team constantly hears the hype on the Cleveland Browns. They constantly hear that this team is not going to be good without Bell AND AB. Ben Roethlisberger will now have to lead his team through all that noise and prove himself the leader that he truly believes that he is.
The biggest question is; can Juju still be a stud without AB? He has some shoes to fill, but what WR hasn't? Hines Ward. Santonio Holmes. Antonio Browns. The list goes on and on. Is it time to add in Juju? They have added Donte Moncrief to help, but Moncrief (although a huge fantasy sleeper) hasn't had a 'good' season since his sophmore campaign in 2015. He finished that season with 64 receptions for 733 yards and 6 TD's. His receiving total dipped the following season in Indy, but he managed 7 TDs. He has only gotten over 40 receptions 2 times in his 5 year career. In 5 years, he has 200 receptions and 21 TDs. Nothing spectacular, but people are hoping that Big Ben can unlock what Moncrief once had with Andrew Luck.
Some are hoping that James Washington is this years breakout for the Steelers. That's an optimistic possibility, but he still has a lot to learn before getting the respect and truth of Big Ben and Mike Tomlin. Vance McDonald is the 'chosen one' for the Tight End position after Jesse James left for Detroit. Will Vance makem dance? Many are hoping so. He had a great season last year and with all the vacated targets, many are projecting him to finish top 5 TE's this season. Whether it's Moncrief, Washington or Vance; AB and James are leaving behind 200+ combined targets. Someone's got to eat.
Then there's the chance that the Steelers become more reliant on the running game. James Conner is ready to hold on to the reign and primed for an excellent year. Jaylen Samuel is also primed to have a career year. The biggest question for the Steelers this season is how their running game will be with their new O-Line coach. Mike Munchak left to join the Broncos staff. Their new O-Line coach is Sean Sarrett who was promoted into the position. He's an unknown at this position so it will definitely be interesting to see how this running game will work this year.
The Steelers D is still solid. Nothing extraordinary, but when a team has this sort of chip on their shoulder, they can pounce. The fact that they get to face their division 6 times is also going to be a blessing for this defense. Cincinnati is falling apart and Pittsburgh should dominate at the line with help from Lil Watt. They also get to chase Baltimore around the field who will be moreso run heavy then anything. Sure, they have to square up against Cleveland and their new look offense, but that will be where that 'chip' comes to play.
Many are saying that Pittsburgh is not a team or organization to sleep on this season. Even without AB or Bell, the NFL and the networks are still sold on this organization. The Pittsburgh Steelers will have FIVE primetime games this season! 5 out of 16 games, including their season opener. All without Antonio Brown! All without Le'Veon Bell! All because no matter what, this team is STILL the Pittsburgh Steelers of the AFC North.
So let's take a look at their schedule and projected wins and figure out if the Steelers got what it takes to remain at the top of the AFC North.
BOLD is for wins. ITALIC is for losses.
PATRIOTS SEAHAWKS 49ERS BENGALS RAVENS CHARGERS DOLPHINS COLTS RAMS BROWNS BENGALS BROWNS CARDINALS BILLS JETS RAVENS
PREDICTION: 9-7 RECORD
After losing a tough game against the New England Patriots to open up the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers go on a tear winning 4 in a row, including a Monday Night Football showdown against Cincinnati in which nobody can give two fucks about anymore. No more Burfict. No more AB. The drama is gone and Cincy is trash. However, that game highlights the new Steelers look as they dominate. That 4 game streak sets up an incredible Sunday Night Football showdown against the Chargers as both teams enter the game at 4-1 and both teams leading their division to the surprise of a few. However, the Chargers are the better team here and Pitt suffers another tough loss in Prime time like Week 1. After beating a shitty Miami team, the Steelers fail to beat the really good teams in the Colts and the Rams.
As I discussed earlier, I'm giving the Steelers/Browns home wins split for the season. Cleveland rocks their stadium in the first show down as they clash for the first time in the season. Pittsburgh answers back by winning their next showdown as they go on another 4 game winning streak. Now I have an interesting situation appear. After Arizona upsets Cleveland in Week 15, I have Pitt and Cleveland both entering Week 16 of the season with identical 9-5 records. I have Cleveland (as stated in earlier post) win their final 2 games against division rivals Baltimore and Cincinnati. However, Pittsburgh is put into the dilemma of having to face Le'Veon Bell and his new home Jets in Week 16. I have the Jets beating them here which puts the Jets in GREAT position to earn the wildcard spot over the Steelers due to head to head match ups. The following week, the Baltimore Ravens end the Pittsburgh Steelers chances of making the playoffs by playing with heart. More to come with that game on my next post.
So if my projections are correct, I see the Steelers putting up a fight this year. At two points in the season, they go on 4 game winning streaks. However, a 9-7 record and meltdown against bitter enemies in the final 2 games of the season end the Steelers reign as Kings of the North. For the second straight season, the Pittsburgh Steelers finish with a winning record and miss the playoffs.
This is the year where Ben Roethlisberger can really immortalize himself (if he hasn't already) in Pittsburgh lure. If he can lead this team to a division title or even the playoffs, he will become the greatest QB in Pittsburgh football history PERIOD. He has had himself a bumpy career. He's won Super Bowls, he's been accused of rape, he's been called a good teammate by some and a bad teammate by others. He has experienced a rollercoaster career. After having his contract extended until 2021, it has to be known that this guy is trying to win one more ring.
Can Big Ben prove that he is the one true King in the North? Will Ben Roethlisberger lead this new-look Steelers team into the playoffs and all the way to Miami? Can the Steelers surprise everyone by winning their 7th Super Bowl on the 100 year anniversary? If playing with a 'chip' on your shoulder can win you a 'chip', then this is the team to do it. Good luck 🤯 and Leper Messiah.
FANTASY FOOTBALL- 12PPR ADP PITTSBURGH STEELERS James Conner (1.12) JuJu Smith-Schuster (2.03) Vance McDonald (7.10) Jaylen Samuels (9.09) Ben Roethlisberger (11.03)
James Conner was a spectacle in fantasy football last season. As someone who owned him in a big-money league, I have to say that he saved my season. Attempting to trade him was impossible last season (Chubb will be the same this year) and I tried. Everyone feared that Bell was going to come back, because who doesn't want money? But Bell never came and Conner was fed, fed, fed. It may have been out of spite to Bell to show that they got his replacement, but Conner held his own. He started 12 games, scored 13 total TDs and was awesome for fantasy owners. That is; until he got hurt. He got hurt at the worst possible time, too. During the fantasy playoffs. For me, that's hard to forget. Injuries are a part of football, but who's to say that he is going to last the season? He couldn't do it last year. The history of Steelers RB's shows that he is going to be okay, but the whispers have been talking about Jaylen Samuels too. At the end of the 1st round, you can snatch him there or the 2nd round if you want him to be your RB1. However, for me, I'm not. I'm picking 2 ELITE WR's if I am put in the 12 spot in the draft. Too many big names are available there like Thomas, OBJ and even his teammate Juju.
Speaking of Juju; he comes in 2nd on the board for fantasy draft picks. If I had to have one of them on my team, I'm taking Juju. You can basically snatch both of them on the flip if you choose. However, both come with question marks this season. Juju has to come into this season with people calling him a "system to Antonio Brown". Now he has to prove that he can follow the trends of Ward, Plaxico, Holmes and AB. Can Juju take the reigns of the Steelers and ride them into the future as their WR1? If you believe he can, you snatch him at this spot 100 times out of 100 times. WR's going a little after him are Antonio Brown and Mike Evans. You could also take a RB in this spot by grabbing Todd Gurley, Joe Mixon or Dalvin Cook. The choice is yours, but I'm not against making him your WR1 or WR2 if you go WR/WR.
Vance McDonald is one of the heads of the hype train heading into this season. As I mentioned earlier, all those vacated targets have people super stoked about stocking up on RBs/WRs throughout the draft and taking McDonald around the end of the 7th round (maybe early 8th) as your starting TE. I've already talked him up earlier in this post. We all know how shitty the Tight End landscape was in fantasy football last season. This almost feels too good to be true, in my opinion. He is going to improve from last season, especially with the departure of Jesse James. Vance has the hype and I'm aboard this train. I am grabbing him any chance I can in the 7th round as a huge steal. OR he could be blah like Trey Burton (who got equal hype) was for fantasy owners; including myself.
Jaylen Samuels is what he got me scared of grabbing James Conner. Some experts say that we shouldn't worry about Samuels and ride Conner. Some reports I have been reading is that Samuels is the clear #2 and #1 receiving back. When Samuels is out there, he is going to open up the field and could be a huge part of those vacated targets this season. He was a Yahoo fantasy nightmare last season as he was in the system as a RB/TE. Many leaped on him and plugged him in as a TE as he went onto the field as a starting RB. The Yahoo people didn't even know who this guy was or what he did for that system last year. Now he's here to get peoples full attention. Will he thrive? Who knows. However, I am not against taking him this deep into the draft with the always possibility that James Conner could get injured again.
I decided to focus on Ben Roethlisberger here instead of talking about the two WR's who sandwich him in the ADP. James Washington is going a little earlier then Big Ben and Donte Moncrief is going a little after Big Ben. The reason I decided to focus on the QB is because it's really up to you and your guesses who will be successful as the WR2 for Big Ben this year. Common sense has to make you realize that Ben Roethlisberger is coming into this season the most fired up he has been in ages. He's got a lot to prove. He finished as the QB3 last season in fantasy football. The fact that you can get him in the beginning of the 11th round is more of a reason that drafting a QB super early is stupid. Many suggest this team will turn more into a running team, but I don't know if Ben will allow that to be their complete identity. He's out for blood this year and a repeat top 3-5 finish as a QB in fantasy football is not out of the possibilities. I am definitely not mad if he is my QB1 this year, but wouldn't mind making him my QB2 if I go Kyler Murray or Carson Wentz earlier.

THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL LIV MIAMI, FLORIDA
BALTIMORE RAVENS
It's a new day; yes it is!
The Joe Flacco Era came to an unceremonious ending during the season last year. Enter LAMAR JACKSON! The Ravens entered their BYE week last season with a 4-5 record on the heels of a 3 game losing streak. With an "injured" Joe Flacco, the Baltimore Ravens finally went to their first round draft pick Lamar Jackson. He took the league by storm! The Ravens would go on to finish the regular season going 6-1 with Lamar Jackson as a starter. After finishing the season 10-6, the Baltimore Ravens took the AFC North Champion. The future was no longer in doubt. Joe Flacco was not coming back. Lamar Jackson was here to stay.
The Ravens entered the playoffs and lost a close game in the first round to the Chargers. And although Lamar Jackson was held responsible for leading this team to the division crown and a playoff berth; he was also met with heavy criticism after. Criticism that is better off posted with a picture then typed into words.
So entering the 2019 season, Lamar Jackson has to come with answers. His 6/3 TD/INT ratio is awful. His 695 rushing yards on 147 rushing attempts had people talking positively. His 12 fumbles (most in the NFL) was keeping conversations going, too. Is he an NFL QB? Can he take it to the next level this season? Comparisons to Michael Vick may be too early to call. Michael Vick came with much more hype, whereas Lamar Jackson staying the extra year in college kind of diluted his hype. Especially considering the QBs who went in the same draft class. Lamar was able to lead his team to the playoffs right off the bat, whereas Michael Vick was able to do it his first year as a full time starter. There is no more gadget plays for Lamar Jackson. He is not being given a long leash. It's time to prove the doubters wrong.
The Baltimore Ravens lost some big names this off season. Most notably on the defensive side with Terrell Suggs, CJ Mosley and Eric Weddle. They bought in a big name by snatching future HOFer Earl Thomas to be the new leader of this defense. However, Earl Thomas is coming off of a huge injury so this signing definitely comes with risk.
On the offensive side, they once again continue trying to find the "Ray Rice replacement". Alex Collins was supposed to be the guy last season, but Harbaugh never really liked him and then he had a horrible offseason where he was not only arrested but injured to a point where he can't even play football this season. The Ravens cut the best dancing RB and went and grabbed a veteran in Mark Ingram. Justice Hill was also drafted and many are expecting him to get more and more playing time as the season goes along. After losing WR John Brown, the Ravens went for youth to grow with Lamar. They drafted "Hollywood" Marquise Brown and are hoping he can be as great as his relative Antonio Brown is. Seth Roberts was also signed, but who gives a fuck?
No matter how hard Lamar Jackson tries to be a passing QB; he will not succeed. He needs to be who he is or a one time phenom, RG3, will take his spot. This is not a passing team. This team is put together to run, run, run! They extended Nick Boyle's contract because he's the best run blocking TE in the NFL. They have Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews at TE, as well. This team is built to be a running team and the only way that can lead to real success is if the defense can win them games.
It wouldn't be the first time that the Ravens organization depended on their defense to win games and championships. If Lamar can limit his turnovers and this team can keep games low scoring, this Ravens team can succeed. Can and will are different things. Let's see what their season has on the docket.
BOLD is for wins. ITALIC is for losses.
DOLPHINS CARDINALS CHIEFS BROWNS STEELERS BENGALS SEAHAWKS PATRIOTS BENGALS TEXANS RAMS 49ERS BILLS JETS BROWNS STEELERS
PREDICTION: 6-10 RECORD
Okay, first thing first; the fact that I have Baltimore going 0-4 against the AFC East is ridiculous. They have defeated Miami 9 out of the last 10 times they faced. I gave Miami this win because I was trying to find a spot for Miami to get a dub. Plus Fitzmagic. The chances of the Ravens going 0-4 against that division is foolish. They can realistically split 2-2 there. But since I did the AFC East, I fucked that shit up. I'm giving the Ravens big wins against the Texans and 49ers. To end their season, I see the Ravens saving Harbaughs job by ending the Steelers playoff hopes by beating them. Years in the making. Game winning TD by Hollywood Brown in the final seconds ala AB crushing Baltimore on final plays. Circle of life.
Listen, I like what the Ravens are trying to do. Harbaugh might be on the hot seat this season, even though he has no right to be. Lamar Jackson is going to be under a microscope this year as is all those 2nd year starting QBs. With the new dawgs in Cleveland, the powerhouse organization that is Pittsburgh, this hill seems too tough for them to climb.
There is the possibility that this team leads the NFL in rushing yards (very likely) and this defense keeps opponents in low scoring games. There is a possibility that they are the dark horses of the AFC North and reclaim that division. Because for now, the Baltimore Ravens are still Kings of the North. And if Lamar Jackson gets better, this team can fly into the post-Flacco era and directly to Miami. Maybe this new look Ravens team leaves Miami with the organizations 3rd Super Bowl win.
FANTASY FOOTBALL: 12PPR ADP BALTIMORE RAVENS Mark Ingram (4.09) Justice Hill (11.12) Lamar Jackson (12.06) Mark Andrews (13.08)
This is a team that nobody is really excited to touch on the offense side. Let's be clear; Mark Ingram is the ONLY player that is being drafted before their defense. Yes, defense wins championships; but not in fantasy.
I'm going to go through this quickly as there's not too much to divulge in. Mark Ingram is coming in with mixed opinions on his fantasy forecast for 2019. Some thing he is going to explode for 1200+ rushing yards and 10+ rushing TDs. Others say that he was just a product of the New Orleans run system. I think he'll be in the middle. The Ravens are set up to be a running team and he is their starting RB. Yes, he is a good RB2 or RB3 for your team if you snatch him in the 4th round, but there are real possibilities that this team goes through a 'Justin Tucker game' where they don't score any TDs and it's all Tucker. That's a real possibility and a pain for owning this team.
Justice Hill is being hyped as their change of pace, pass catching rookie RB. If Ingram gets injured, many are automatically shooting him up to the top of the depth chart. One thing I have learned from the Ravens RBs in the past few seasons when it comes to fantasy football is that these Ravens are like The Crow, Sting (Lionheart wouldn't understand) and that NOTHING IS FOR SURE! But, going in the 11th round, why not take a shot at him? If he can grab a Tevin Coleman-like back this late in the draft; it's a winning value.
Lamar Jackson was a frustrating fantasy QB last year. Everyone was expecting him to be this fantasy phenom, but his fumbles and lack of TDs affected him mightily. If he has progression on the TD department, then Lamar Jackson has a legit chance as finishing as a QB1 (TOP 12). Am I grabbing him on my roster as my QB1? I hope not, but if I get him, I'll be rooting for those rushing yards. Definitely a great backup QB in fantasy. I wouldn't be against that.
Mark Andrews is another AFC North hyped up TE. A late in the draft possible starting TE. People are expecting him to have an awesome year after last year, but I'm still a little shook about having a Baltimore TE. Not only am I afraid of their passing game, but they have 3 TE's! Andrews can definitely have 2-3 games in the season with 0 fantasy points and I do not want that on my starting roster.
Again, not too fond of anybody here, but I have to take 1 at their value.
MY FAVORITE FANTASY DRAFT PICK ON THIS TEAM: Mark Ingram (4.09)

I know he was really not great in the first three quarters of that playoff game, but the impact that has apparently had on the way Jackson is perceived heading into the new season is ridiculously overblown. Double his statline from his seven regular season starts and you have 3800 total yards and 22 touchdowns. Sam Darnold had 3000 yards and 17 touchdowns and everyone acts like he is already locked in as the next great franchise quarterback.
I like Baltimore because they are going the complete opposite route to the rest of the league. Lamar, Ingram, Gus the Bus all running the ball behind that offensive front is cool just because it's different. I also think Greg Roman is a really underrated offensive coach who has a very strong record calling effective run attacks with limited passing quarterbacks like Colin Kaepernick and Tyrod Taylor.
