I wonder what the coaches in 1920 would have thought about video review?!

I wonder what the coaches in 1920 would have thought about video review?! For a single challenge, I bet it would take the whole season to come up with a decision.

Anthony Miller hasn't even been on the field for how many drives now?!
How the hell is Cordarelle Patterson on the field and not Anthony Miller?!
I suddenly despise Mitch Trubisky.

Horrendous performance by Chicago on offense.
Wasted an amazing performance by the D. This could very easily be the story of their season.
Trubisky looked horrible today. He was absolutely dreadful.
Zero fucking receptions by Anthony Miller. Fucking annoyed.
I got 9 points from Chicago D. 7.6 from Adams and a fucking donut by Anthony Miller. My defense outscored two of my WRs combined. Thanks for the 0-1 start.
I fucking hate football sometimes.

I know y'all called the game boring , and I get it from an outsiders perspective. However as a Packer fan that was a fucking joy to watch , just absolutely cathardic. It's been the chatter amongst Packer fans that this defense could be legit this season and watching it come to fruition on the opener against our biggest rival was fucking awesome and I enjoyed every minute of the game. It's been a long time since I had any amount of confidence in this defense and I do believe that if we can keep the major players healthy there is Top 5-10 potential here. Granted the Bears didn't help much but at the same time ... Packers defenses of the past surely would have let up a few scores.
The offense was ugly , I somewhat expected it to be considering the circumstances and knew it would probably take a few weeks to get into sync , plus we were on the road against a badass defense in it's own right. I seen enough flashes and things I liked for me to be optimistic about the future of the offense as well. LaFleur called a pretty good game given the offensive line struggles. It's going to take time and being at home so much to start the season will definitely help.
Still though! DAT DEFENSE! THE SMITH BROTHERS AND AMOS , THE THREE BIG FA SIGNINGS ALL MADE MONSTER PLAYS DOWN THE STRETCH. And rookie Savage played great for his first ever game. And Alexander did his job. And Kevin King ... well he dropped an interception but that's kind of what he does. He's great in coverage though.
Also JK Scott for MVP. Fucking booming kicks all day!
What an opener! I can now enjoy opening weekend!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more games like that this week. With more and more teams not playing their starters during preseason it's hardly a shock to see offences come in looking undercooked and disorganised.
It'll be interesting to see how the Packers defence continues over the next few weeks - but if that's anything to go by they are a far more well rounded team than they have been for a while. Mike Pettine might not have had the huge first year impact some predicted but with the Smith's he now has genuine pass rushers. You only need to look at how many Packers from last year remain unsigned to see that they were really quite talent deficient.

Losing King was huge and we played about 14 different safety combinations. And Clark eventually went down. Such a difference in talent though as you said.

I'd have to see more out of that Packers D to fully judge, Mitch had numerous openings, and just failed time and time again...while the front looks good on pressure, have to see how those spaces work out with the above average to elite QB's.

It might have been a boring game offensively, but for defense it was absolutely terrific. Both defenses had fierce pass rushers, great coverage, and the tackling was crisp throughout the game.
Rodgers didn't have the greatest game, but he took what the defense gave him, which is something he often didn't do last year. Instead of throwing the ball away or trying to hold it for the big play, he took those 5-10 yard passes that move the chains and keep drives alive. And when he finally got his shots he took them.
Trubisky on the other hand....that was just ugly. One of those game where he definitely needs to forget about before next week.

It doesn't get easy for Trubisky next week. They got the Broncos. I can see Denver winning that one 13-10.
The fact I had 3 riding for fantasy football made that game dreadful for me. ZERO from Miller, 7.6 from Adams and 9 from Chicago D.
Fantasy football is ruining the actual football experience from me.

I think Mitch will turn out ok but man, looking back now how bad was that draft day trade Chicago trading up 1 spot for him with Watson and Mahomes still on the board.
