Didn’t he switch it to the opposite hotel room through the air ducts or something? Yes because the cartel was waiting for him in his room. Hence why he went to the sporting goods store to get stuff to make the hook and pull it through to the other room.

Edit: Okay, I looked up some old chat logs about it. So he knew the guys were coming for him, so he quickly put it in the vent and left immediately, only to come back later and get it out of the vent from the other room.
But, if he knew they were coming, why stop and put it in the hotel room at all!?!?!? Why take the time to put it in the vent? That was all a huge risk. He could have just kept going or quickly left WITH the suitcase.
Why go to all that effort just to...have to go to more effort to pull off this crazy move to escape with the briefcase he already had and could have just kept!?

Ugh. Good movie, but...still. No. It's not the best. Not even close. Maybe not the best of all time, but the best of this list's category.

Pretty sure they were already in there , as when he drove back he seen the truck parked in front of the hotel room. It wasn't until way later when he discovers the tracking device that he knew they were always going to be following him.

Pulp Fiction has the highest highs of any of these movies for me, but also really low lows that drag it down for me. I’m now to the point where I will rewatch any of the stories with Samuel L Jackson and not watch anything without him. Makes it much more enjoyable to remove the Travolta/Bruce Willis side stories and make it about a man witnessing a miracle that’s gonna go walk the earth like he’s from Kung Fu.
Just rewatched No Country a few weeks ago and it might be my favorite on the list now.

Pulp Fiction is the best. A top 10 movie of all time for me.
Everything about this movie is great. I don’t mind the Bruce willis scenes either. It’s just an amazing cast, with great stories and amazing moments throughout. It’s truly a special film.

Pulp Fiction is amazing on the first watch, particularly if you watch it as a teenager when you haven't seen many films, because it's so different and shocking that it stays with you and feels really exciting. The more I rewatch it, though, the more it goes down in my estimation. It's too showy and too convoluted even though there are genuinely wonderful moments in it. Not surprised but disappointed it finished number one. Here's my list:
1. Reservoir Dogs 2. A Serious Man 3. Blood Simple 4. No Country for Old Men 5. Inside Llewyn Davis 6. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 7. The Big Lebowski 8. Fargo 9. O Brother Where Art Thou? 10. Barton Fink
A Serious Man is genuinely wonderful and if I'd managed to see it more than once it may have ended up number one on my list.

I think you somehow quoted me after the edit but responded to what I said before the edit? Both versions were wrong , so it works. Wrong HOW? Omg it is happening again. I still have no idea how it made any sense and no one will ever be able to explain it. I’m starting to think it really just didn’t make sense.

I’m starting to think it really just didn’t make sense. He drove back , seen the truck and got it from the other room- I don’t understand your qualms. Seems nit picky and minute detail to harp on but even if you want to speak towards characters and direction and the fact he was acting irrationally - it makes sense considering he was a small town nothing who happened to get himself in a world of shit real fast.

I can accept it if the character was just not making any sense, but no one has ever said that. They all claim he was acting totally rationally / was a tactical genius. My qualm is that I don't understand what he could have been thinking or how this "master tactic" helped him whatsoever. He had to go to a ton of effort to get the case back when he could have just kept the case.
But I will just assume he was an idiot then. In any case, I didn't enjoy the movie because it was very abstract. It replaced most actual plot with silent actions like it was just supposed to amaze you or something. I'm certainly biased, but I just really prefer dialogue and intricate conversations and stuff to "woah you should be amazed look how good these shots are". I love good shots too, but only that doesn't do it for me.

1. Reservoir Dogs 2. Django Unchained 3. The Hateful Eight 4. Pulp Fiction 5. True Romance 6. Kill Bill 7. Blood Simple 8. Big Lebowski, The 9. Inside Llewyn Davis 10. True Grit
Runner Ups
11. Fargo 12. Miller's Crossing 13. Burn After Reading 14. Hail, Caesar! 15. Bridge of Spies
While my list was 6/4 in favor of Tarantino, Tarantino had a dominating win considering his six were all the top 6. I am surprised even by myself to know that I think six of Tarantino's films are better than any Coen films, but that seems to be the case. Both the Coens and Tarantino are fantastical directors and way better than Chris Nolan. Both may even be the top three American filmmakers alive in my book. Paul Thomas Anderson is the #1, of course. Scorsese may also be in one of those slots though. It is a tough call. In any case, they are both great. Great list.

Ugh. Good movie, but...still. No. It's not the best. Not even close. Maybe not the best of all time, but the best of this list's category. First of all, these directors are so good that those two things are pretty much the same thing. Second of all, no. It's just overrated to no end because its popularity skyrocketed in a maelstrom of memefication and fanboys colliding into an unstoppable scourge that has devoured the land. Pulp Fiction has the highest highs of any of these movies for me, but also really low lows that drag it down for me. I’m now to the point where I will rewatch any of the stories with Samuel L Jackson and not watch anything without him. Just rewatched No Country a few weeks ago and it might be my favorite on the list now. It's not the best on this list but saying it has really low lows is pretty harsh. Interestingly though, I found the Bruce Willis parts of the movie the best as I couldn't stop laughing for ages during some of them. Samuel Jackson parts were actually my least favorite of the movie. Everyone built up his speech like it was better than sliced bread, and sure Samuel Jackson is amazing at speeches just like in any movie, but I didn't really get the content of it. It just seemed like pseudo-intellectual babble trying to sound cool, but I think that was the point.
Anyway, yes, even during those parts the movie was still pretty good. Even the weakest points from all the movies on this list are better than the high points of most other popular movies.

That is a very good point. I somehow didn’t even consider that. I just saw it on his filmography list and wrote it down
Well that sucks that I wasted such a high vote.

True Romance ain't no Tarantino movie in my book. Probably not in UT's book either. It isn’t. I didn’t correct Lionheart because I rarely correct anyone. As we’d never get a list out. Plus everyone knows True Romance was directed by the great Tony Scott.

It's more of a Tarantino movie in spirit anyway. I think Tarantino's writing is what makes his films special. You can replace him as director with any other fantastic director, like Tony Scott who certainly fits the bill, and not much changes. Can't blame UT for not correcting me. I doubt the slightly different list that would have resulted would have made a difference.

Pulp Fiction was my #1 with a bullet. It is simply brilliant from start to finish. The cast, the acting, the dialogue, the soundtrack, all absolutely first rate. This is the film that made Samuel Jackson a household name, and resurrected John Travolta's career. It also gave a significant boost to Bruce Willis, and made Uma Thurman a star. A groundbreaking film in so many aspects and easily one of the top 5 most quotable films ever. I pretty much watch it every time it comes on.
I find it absolutely astounding that people will praise Reservoir Dogs and bash Pulp Fiction, to me that comes off as hipster nonsense. Reservoir Dogs is an inferior version of Pulp Fiction in every way.

Yeah, Pulp Fiction was my easy #1.
1. Pulp Fiction 2. O' Brother Where Art Thou 3. Django Unchained 4. Big Lebowski 5. Kill Bill (Volume 1 specifically, if we're counting them separately) 6. Raising Arizona 7. Inglorious Basterds 8. Natural Born Killers 9. Fargo 10. Reservoir Dogs
And yes, I counted NBK, which he only wrote the story for, and would have counted True Romance, suck it.

So this ended in a tie? How dissatisfying. Nope. Tarantino movies placed at positions 1, 3, 5, 7, and 8. If we count these placements as points on a scale where first place is ten points and tenth place is one point, that adds up to 31 points. Coen movies, on the other hand, placed 2, 4, 6, 9, and 10. This results in 24 points. Tarantino won this list by a solid 7 points!

Still, a very close contest. Certainly some Coen movies for me to check out.
Put into another perspective, 50% of Tarantino's movies made the list, compared to only, what, 33% of Coen movies? Less?

So you take the 33% the Coens already got...and you double that to get 66%. But then you also factor in that I’m a generic freak and that adds another 37%. The end result is that Tarantino still wins by 167% cent.
