I’m wondering if the Chargers pull the trigger on a Melvin Gordon trade and hand the backfield completely over to Ekeler and get something in return for MG. That would certainly be interesting. Not sure what team would be in playoff contention and in need of a RB though. Maybe Detroit with Kerryon out but I doubt it.
I just think it makes sense for the Bolts.

The Bills!
Although they may be content with the ageless Frank Gore and rookie Devin Singletary.

Ravens probably to give Jackson another threat to make teams worry. Mark Ingram is up there in age so someone to spell him and lessen his load will help in the long haul. Ingram hits the big 3-0 late December.

I was hoping to get AJ Green or Sanu 3i don’t mind Sanders but 3rd and 4th rounder for him is a little rich for my blood

I’m totally cool with riding out Gore & Singletary for the rest of the season and seeing where it gets us. They’ve exceeded expectations and then some, imo. Now if only Buffalo would run the ball more and not let Allen sail the ball over everyone’s head when they need 3 yards. It almost cost them the game against Miami and probably would have been a bigger factor against NE.

One or two people should lose their jobs because of it. I posted before about Darnold not adjusting the protection to handle the blitz but given how completely shot he clearly was, the coaching staff has to step in and make some changes. Admittedly I don't watch much of the bad teams because I mainly watch the featured games but I think that's easily the worst performance by an NFL team that I've ever seen. I said after the Browns MNF game a few weeks ago that Lev Bell was really the only player to come out of the game with any credit whatsoever, and the same thing happened again tonight, plus they actually had their starter available. I know the Patriots have played a lot of bad teams but their defence is posting some truly astonishing numbers. QBs against them have thrown 1 touchdown against 15 interceptions all season, and Stephon Gilmore has as many interceptions as he's allowed completions against him in the past two games. Ridiculous. So he has a TE or Bell stay back to catch the open guy, then what? The Wrs were being blanketed for the most part, what would he do? Run and tuck the ball in and take what he can? There should have been quick options low coverage, checkdown, screens to hit the blitz like most professional signal callers do. Gase has been doing this for a long time, the fact he could not adjust to this is pitiful. Mike McCagnan's inept drafts and inability to draft playmakers have ruined this team and it's why we're as bad as we are and had to spend like crazy for talents in the FA market. How he was allowed to run this last draft is ludicrous, he tossed a HIGH 3rd rounder in Polite out before the final cuts were even made. I mean you've got a reasonable point here (as well as your part about being in a new offence compared to other 2nd year passers), but obviously if you pick up the blitz properly that allows more time for your receivers to get open. If the defence is playing cover-0 then you should be able to make some plays in space to stop them sending the blitz every down. I haven't seen a lot of Darnold so maybe this simply isn't a skill he possesses, but as a young QB I expect to see some sort of athleticism and escapability - I don't recall him avoiding any pressure through his own talent to extend a play once last night. Sure his protection wasn't good, but he was just back pedalling and throwing off his back foot time after time. Even in a tough spot like last night I would have liked to see at least one or two moments where he was able to fashion something himself and make a play, but there just wasn't anything.

Basically what @admin said. It was like Darnold was scared shit. It was the worst performance I’ve seen since Nathan Peterman was a starter. Difference is, Sam is supposed to be the savior and that was primetime against your arch nemesis. Total let down.

With that said Darnold does have a nice looking slate coming up to rebound. The Jags are decent but after that he has Miami, NYG, Washington, Oakland, Cincy and then Miami again - could hardly get an easier schedule than that.

That’s why I have him stashed right now. My only issue is Jimmy G is being a fantasy irrelevant QB right now. I might drop him for Ryan fucking Tannehill for this week. Smh.

Even in a tough spot like last night I would have liked to see at least one or two moments where he was able to fashion something himself and make a play, but there just wasn't anything. Gilmore took half the field away and whatever the reason was, he was going after him with Anderson. They went to Dey Thomas who has stone hands and dropped 3 passes, including one on the second drive that broke the offense with a stalled drive. They barely looked at Crowder despite him being a 1st down converting machine. Yeah on paper the WRs will have more time to seperate and again he had passes that he overshot but it's quick thinking when a zero blitz is coming and to not have a slant or anything ready in the playbook is amazing to me. I dont blame the 22 year old kid on that, that's on his QB guru of a coach if anything. I want to see Sam throw to his go to weapon late last year Chris Herndon because scumbag or not, he led all TEs in the game if I recall the final few games in REC yards and might have been the best rookie TE of 2018(Unless there is someone I am forgetting). Hoping he makes his debut this Sunday or the following week in his home state of Florida. I've seen all of his pro snaps so I don't want to come off like I am dismissing your take because I like your analysis always HR(Not sarcastic, your analysis on the primetime games are welcomed) but Darnold's best attribute is his improvisation on the run and running out of the pocket actually, he is a big work in progress as a pocket passer. I think he truly thought he can shake guys and besides that Simon strip sack fumble, he was doing as good as he can he just made errant passes. I think like with Mayfield on MNF vs 49ers, he was shot from the get go and lost his basic mechanics and got away from everything. Mayfield has some awful tendencies like rolling out of the pocket and getting happy feet in numerous instances and throwing off his back feet too. Saw it in the Jets game, saw it vs 49ers and Rams too. He just has weapons that can extend the catch radius and make plays seemingly out of nothing.

In some wild news; The Arizona Cardinals have signed Alfred Morris and Zack Zenner in the past 24 hours. 2 RBs.
Something's up with David Johnsons back and I honestly would not be surprised if they shut him down for the season.
WHICH WOULD BE FUCKING AWESOME FOR ME AS A CHASE EDMONDS OWNER.
But stay tuned.

Josh Gordon apparently being waived is an interesting one. With all the water under the bridge it doesn't look like we'll ever seen him at his 2013 levels again, but in essentially a season's worth of games for the Pats he still put up 1000 yards. Plenty of contending teams like the Packers and Ravens who could use a quality WR.
