I have literally predicted every winner in this thread except New Orleans which was before I knew Brees was playing. I had a biased brain fart on Yahoo though picking both NY teams to win. Don’t know why or when I did that dumb shit but anyways. Let’s talk about this week.
1- San Francisco is legit. BUT New Orleans is better. Yes the Niners are doing their damn thing running the ball and defensively but the Saints have been kicking ass without Brees and Kamara. Just crazy. I don’t think the Saints can be stopped.
2- The Bears kicker curse is worse then the Chargers finding ways to lose curse. I can’t believe how that game ended. The dumbest thing that franchise ever did was not pay Robbie Gould. Well 2nd dumbest. Drafting Trubisky over Mahomes and Watson is the dumbest. They’re the last place team in the NFC North. That’s embarrassing.
3- The Bills need to find some quality weapons on offense. Their defense can only hold on for so long. Today they did and finally cracked towards the end. This is still a playoff team but they ain’t getting far with that offense.
4- The fucking Colts man. Adam Vinateri hit another GW FG but how this team plays is unbelievable. They have injuries to their defense and would be a legit Super Bowl contender if Luck was still here. Jacoby is inconsistent so let’s hope he gets hot at the right time. Right now, they are excellently coached and are just super solid.
5- Let’s cut the bullshit. Watson and Wilson are having great seasons. CMC is just unbelievable. BUT if we are going to be honest with who deserves the MVP there is no question. It’s Aaron Rodgers. He’s been doing this without his best WR in Adams and it’s just been unbelievable to watch. That TD to Williams could be called luck as are Hail Marys but eventually you just start to see it so much where it just isn’t lucky anymore. This dude has been the MVP of the NFL to this point.
6- The final 6 teams in the AFC are already set and its only Week 8. NE, KC, Baltimore, Indy, Houston, Buffalo. None of these teams are missing the playoffs. The AFC is set.
7- The Patriots defense does it again. It’s insane. They’re winning the Super Bowl and this is just unbelievably impressive. This is historic. Sit back and enjoy.
8- The NFC is still a fucking blast. The NFC North is GB/Minnesota. The NFC East is Dallas/Philly. The NFC South is New Orleans and Cam could be coming back soon for Carolina. The NFC West is SF, Seattle and the Rams. It’s a damn shame 3 of those 9 teams are going to miss the playoffs.
9- NY sports sucks right now. Since the Yankees lost in Game 6, both Giants and Jets have went 0-4 combined and the Knicks are 0-3. Just terrible. I blame DeBlasio. And no Buffalo doesn’t count.
10- JJ Watt. Man. Devastating. I feel for him. He is such a genuinely awesome person and this just sucks to see. Especially with Houston being so competitive this season.

Feels like there's always at least one or two upsets a week.

I’m moderately excited for Baltimore/New England next week. I am believing zero percent of the OMG these Pats hype because they haven’t played anyone of note. They’ve beaten numbers 32, 30, 28 (x2), 27, 21, 19, and 9 in the most recent ESPN power rankings and only 1 team with more than two wins. And before we get started down the “They beat the Bills” track, the Bills five wins are against 27, 28, 31, 32, and 20.
I’m not saying the Pats won’t win another Super Bowl, they’re the best coached team in the league, they have remarkable stability in system, and they have enough history in the moment to make doubting them a fools errand... but I’m over the “this is a race for second in the AFC when Indy, Houston, Baltimore and KC all have at least one bigger win than NE has.

If we make the playoffs just to face KC I’ll be so mad. I want Indy!
I hope Buffalo finishes ahead of Houston though. Especially with the injuries plaguing that team. And Buffalo’s schedule is easier.

Not gonna lie that Week 17 matchup NYJ@BUF.....I would want as high of a draft pick as possible to get one of the two OTs and a WR but fuck it I woulden't be upset if that game mattered for Buffalo to get in the playoffs after they senselessly played hard for Rex Ryan a couple years back to drop the Jets out of the playoffs despite a 10-6 record. They can hail Boyd and Dalton all they want, they ain't gonna be saved that week 17 matchup if it comes down to it.
I am tempted as hell to see a winless Miami season but if they get like 2 wins this year, please beat the Jets so we pick before them and force them to trade up ammo if they truly love Tua. Get me either UGA or USC OT or Jeudy(I am scared of Bama players altogether though)
Jets haven't taken an OT in round 1 since 2006 with DBrick Ferguson, 13 years ago. Enough.

Well the Dolphins have made another trade. They have traded Kenyan Drake to the Arizona Cardinals in a team who is all of a sudden in an emergency RB situation with both David Johnson and Chase Edmonds injured.
Not a place I see Drakes career being revived but he finally gets out of Miami. He just needs to work on blocking if he wants to last in the NFL.

HAHAHAHA Giants acquire Leonard Williams from NYJ for a 3RD THIS YEAR and a 5TH NEXT YEAR. HAHAHA A HIGH 3rd! LETS GO JOE DOUGLAS! ALL FOR SOMEONE NOT RETURNING!
YES! Leonard Williams is such an invisible man but everyone assumes he gathers double teams. What a letdown of a 6th overall pick. Guy talks more than produces on the field. This is awesome.
SO HAPPY! LETS GO! GRAZIE GETTLEMAN! LOVE THIS SON OF A BITCH DAVID.
I guided Giants nation on Stevie Night Heat and Snacks Harrison but if the Giants seriously resign Leo Williams to a contract extension, you guys will be ANGRY.
Leo will tear the Jets assholes in 2 weeks since Brian Winters and Alex Lewis suck but don't let him fool you,the guy does ZERO pass rush and literately gets nothing done in big moments.
EDIT: The 2021 5th becomes a 4th if he resigns, oh resign him Gettleman. Resign him!

I was hoping for the Packers to maybe go after Williams for that cost , I think he would fit in great alongside Clark and Lowry and help fortify our run defense. I know Blindy hates him but everytime I watch the Jets he pops off the screen and you can see that talent there - maybe a change of scenery and being surrounded by better talent would have allowed him to splash more.
Unfortunately he's going to the Giants where he's going to continue to get gobbled up. Blah.

I don’t think it’s a bad trade for the Giants. I believe they’ll find a way to make him work out there.
I’m curious to see if the Jets ship out Robbie Anderson before the deadline. Other intriguing names that could be moved are Melvin Gordon and Chris Harris. Very interested to see if any of those 3 do move. Philly makes sense for Robbie and even Melvin if Sanders injury is bigger then we think it is. Detroit could use RB help and since they didn’t pounce on Drake, they may make a move or go for Jay Ajayi. They’re still in the race.

Unfortunately he's going to the Giants where he's going to continue to get gobbled up. Blah. His cheap shot punch vs the Packers last year that saw him exit early in a game would certainly pop up in your screen. I thought that every single year but he played with a Mo Wilkerson back when he actually cared about football, Sheldon Richardson who on the field is a good run stopper but is a career loser, and an overachieving Steve McClendon and he continued to regress. PFF grades him high in commanding double teams so maybe Beltcher is banking on this but he's never done anything in a 4-3 in his pro career so asking him to do something like a 4-3 DT seems off nature. He was surrounded by good enough talent in his few years here, but hes' not a difference maker. I could always tell Gregg Williams didn't like Williams lack of urgency, he just doesn't have that "Dog" in him. He isn't a total scrub but again for a 6th overall pick, Williams didn't break many games open. He is not going to be worth any if at all the money he will see. I would hate it to be the Giants(Besides the upgrade to a 4th) who have to pay him.

I'm not entirely sure why we've bothered to do that when we've already got good depth on the d-line but are desperate for edge rushers - but I feel like people drastically overrate mid round draft picks. The idea that a third rounder is overpaying is pretty ridiculous if you look back at who comes out at that stage - just looking at defensive players there's like one decent guy per year and the rest are all out of the league. I'm more than happy taking a punt on Williams for that.
The Jets drafting history though is just absolutely unbelievable to look back on:

HRs post is fantastic. That's why were on our FOURTH GM IN LESS THAN 10 YEARS. TANNEBAUM, IDZIK, MCCAGNAN AND NOW DOUGLAS.
The Jets took Jochai Polite who was so bad on the field and came late every other day that not only did a high 3rd rounder not make the final cuts but didn't even get claimed and got booted off the Seahawks practice squad for tardiness, this was fresh after getting angry at the 49ers and Packers for giving him difficult interviews predraft. Hes barely hanging onto the Rams practice squad.
But this was a good trade, it's about acquiring draft ammunition and if the Jets are spending this FA(again because we cant draft), we wont get any comp for the deal Leonard will sign in FA. It's not about selecting players, its having the ammo to trade up or down for a desired player. Jets supposedly were doing everything in their power to trade into round 2 for a CB or Mecole Hardman who has been awesome for the Chiefs but since they lacked a 2nd, they could not progress any legit talks not without losing a future pick.

Christ and I thought the Bills were bad. I'm not being hyperbole about my anger or the Jets for almost a decade. They have been so bad because they just do not understand what the draft is all about. They lack depth, have no talent that's cost controlled and refuse to build the oline or playmakers with routine interior dline picks. And Marcus Maye when not hurt has been lousy, you can add him to the list of 2nd round duds too. Fuck it.

And I’m going to be honest and say that Sam Darnold isn’t going to be much either. He’s stuck in a shitty organization, has the whole “ghosts” things that will follow him like a butt fumble and he’s just not that good.
Mark Sanchez got us to two straight AFC Championship games in his first 2 years in the NFL and will only be remembered for the butt fumble. Unless Darnold wins a Super Bowl, he will only be remembered as the ghosts comment. It’s part of living in the city of lights. Welcome to NY ya bum.

Anything less and fuck Joe Douglas The Jets have taken two OTs since the draft pick of Ferguson in 2006 in the first 3 rounds. That's 13 fucking drafts. God damn.
