David Weiss named as special prosecutor by the DOJ in the Hunter Bidengate saga.

House Republicans are demanding the investigation be ended and the special counsel removed as it is damning their own investigation. Weiss like Smith and the others will have charging power and will charge Hunter is any non-imaginary crimes did occur during Bidengate.

While few care, grand jury now voting on charges in Georgia. Because Trump attacked a witness who testified today, if Georgia law is followed as written, Trump should be denied pretrial release as Georgia mandates detention for people who publicly attack witnesses of criminal trials.

RICO being toss around a lot, which also would allow Georgia to ask for a freeze on Trump's funds. Any other person they would freeze the funds, so it will be a push to justify what makes him special in the eyes of the law.  Also means at his age this trial is for life in prison.

I thought the superceeding one was just charges added on to the charges from that case?

The media is saying that this is the 4th indictment.

To get a superseding indictment, a jury must indict on the new charges then, agree to try the two cases as one. Lay media says four, political media five.

It is four cases total. Five times the grand juries have voted so far. More are coming it seems too as Smith is nowhere near done.

Expected tomorrow for Trump's legal team to make a case that the crimes in Georgia are federal crimes so it can be moved to federal courts. They will also make a motion to seal the entire trial, as right now the trial will be televised with Trump's nearly entire inner circle saying they all knew he lost the election.

The indictment is 98 pages.

Trump, Guliani, Eastman, Powell, Clark, and Mark Meadows among those mentioned.

A grand total of 19 people, including Trump, are indicted.  41 counts total.

Also Rico charges for all.

Believed there will be a case made for no pre-trial release because he already attacked a witness and the court itself on Truth Social. In other cases his lawyers claimed they cannot control what he tweets so it would be the sole way to be sure.

Trump expected to ask this case be transferred to federal courts in his districts, which sends it to Cannon. Georgia unlikely to allow it. Funny how the leader of the party of state's rights believes he is above a state trying him in their inferior courts.

Yup is a Rico case and the DA plans to try it as one. Plan is to do it in the next six months too and she will oppose any single person in the case getting special treatment. Gonna be glorious. And we will all get to see it as it will be televised on most news stations.

Biggest thing is any deference given to Trump must also be considered for everyone else. No more special treatment for only him in these cases. Also everyone will get a set amount of time on the RICO charge when sentenced, Trump will not get special treatment as a former president.

For those who missed it in DC the judge said each time Trump attacks her, the court or a witness she will consider moving the trial to an earlier date so that it resolves the need to comment at all.

So that Georgia RICO charge... GOP as part of the old war on crime attached a five year mandatory min sentence to it. Gonna be very, very hard to legally argue out of it if convicted.

Looks like some of Trump's indicted allies realize what is up and are begging people to donate to his legal defense on a prayer he gets off on the RICO charge, so they all dodge a min of five years in jail.

Of all of the charges he got, fairly sure only the RICO charge has a mandatory minimum sentence attached.

Due to the expected length of the trial they are really hoping to get it going by March. Expected to last months as there are 160 acts documented that combined make up the RICO charge.  They will push that it needs to be done as soon as possible so it is not going on during the election, which is where Trump is pushing to have it occur so he can try to appeal if he loses.


Got to know some weird conversations taking place now about how the secret service works in jail finally as this time Trump may be legally fucked.  There is no loophole in Georgia law that a former president is immune from mandatory minimums.  

Save America appears to be broke. Trump used his vast far chest for donations and now is about to hit zero as his legal fees before Georgia reached 15 million a month, that needs to be paid in advance of work being done because everyone now knows you will not get paid by him otherwise.

RNC will have to run his campaign for president as Trump claims he will personally fund it, which never happened from him in the past. They have basically two options, run a robust group of candidates, or support Trump and make severe cutbacks to the undercard races.

90% of Save America fees went to Trump's legal problems. Fundraising for Save America have rapidly been decreasing over the years and are now at record low numbers following the indictments.

March 4th requested as the start of the Georgia trial. Trump will unlikely be granted more time since there are 17 other defendants and a perfect time for all 18 of them is not a reasonable expectation.

Trump just asked Justice Cannon to interfere in the DC case against him and stop a potential early 2024 trial. God I hope she is stupid enough to try. Doing something that blatantly unlawful will strip her of her law license.

Even if you hate Donald Trump and I would class myself as no great fan, this is not a particularly fair attack on low tier people who were involved in the campaign.

Everyone overlooks the fact that Trump did leave the white house and the protestors did leave the capitol building, the number of lawsuits and hysteria isn't helpful to the fabric of American society.

I am not sure what the warning is here, but it doesn't seem to be about the law as much as it is retribution.

Either the laws apply to everyone or they do not. Claiming that after crimes were found, and a grand jury indicted that he should not have to face court, means he is above common law.

What would be unfair to the American people is to have all this evidence of violations of the criminal code, and ignore the processes we have had since we founded this nation for dealing with that play out.

Like they to say to people in cities, if you do not want to end up in court, just do not commit crimes.

Do you have an example? Jenna Ellis isn’t an ordinary person with a political affiliation or a low tier person in the work to overturn the results in Georgia or other places.

Should note too that the GOP recently pressured the DOJ to withdraw a plea deal for Hunter, and promote the prosecutor to a special prosecutor. And not a single democrat has protested it. When a special prosecutor was assigned to Joe to look into the documents, no one protested it either.

Only one party has a problem with with justice, and it is the one that keeps committing crimes and keeps criminals in Congress.

McCarthy implying to avoid the GOP budget fight, they are going to impeach impeach Biden for obstructing a congressional investigation because he failed to hand over documents to the House GOP, despite them not actually formally requesting them. It is weird, but McCarthy wants to move the conversation away the GOP not having the votes to pass a budget and it is likely Bidengate will take center stage while he deals with the Freedom Caucus mutiny privately.

For those who missed it, Freedom Caucus will not agree to any budget unless all trials involving Trump are ended, state and federal. Other demands like unwoking the military attached, but the Trump trials have no legal precedent to be ended by congressional demand. They are basically demanding Biden, Georgia and NY Trump.  Kevin works with the democrats, they vow to remove him as speaker.
