Scumbag left is slowly rising. Basically the left usually tries to take the high road and the right plays dirty, so we have a net loss. Scumbag left says fuck the high road. If people want to do stupid shit that will harm them in the name of freedom, fuck em. Scumbag left also deals more in reality than absolute ideals. Sure police brutality is bad on the ideal level, but anyone who attacks a cop has what they have coming to them. For the scumbag left, we do not want the cops starting the violence. But once it starts, then cops got to do what they got to do.
Mostly it seems to be kids who grew up in the grunge and punk eras making up the movement who are sick of peace of love preachers allowing the left to take in the ass repeatedly and want to start to play dirty like the right does.
Likely starting to see this bleed into Aussieland from the US where it is growing. Still a minority in the left, but the fastest growing minority.

Bizarre that the ABC was reporting that the protest was made up of Anti vaxxers and neo nazis. Perhpas they never saw the footage, there were a lot of brown people there for a neo-nazi rally. My favourite moment of the pandemic so far, was the chanting of "Dan Andrews Bitch" today. Well, he is. I keep on about it being a 'class' thing now - watching the news cycle on Sky News this afternoon, Tom Connell made some smug remark about " all this over tea-rooms " that showed he understood absolutely zero about how the common folk feel. It's incredible this is the hill Daniel Andrews is ready to die on - this week, so far. Pushing hard mandates on the construction industry first, an industry that employee less than 250,000 people. A week ago, John Setka was warning of closures in the industry due to low vaccinations, but you don't solve the problem by doubling down and pushing harder. Evidently, you're not dealing with the most rational people, as seen today. Absolutely there were some loose units out of the front of the CFMEU. Retail combined with supply chain employs nearly 500,000. ( liveinmelbourne.vic.gov.au/ ) If anything you'd think mandating vaccinations in retail, considering the exposure risk from/to the general public would make more sense. Most of these tradies around probably working in small teams, and hardly holding each other's hands all day long either. It's interesting this 'riot' was allowed to simmer for so long, 7 hours before really kicking off. Across the weekend 2,000 of Dan's storm-troopers went sent to stomp out protestors, and yet when a few hundred construction workers are red hot - nothing, let it burn - it will be a great excuse to shut the industry down. It's a poor play and it has backfired. We are seeing Dan Andrews starting to implode. He's trying to ride the dual horses of keeping everyone safe and being all about opening up. The only way he can accomplish this is to push hard the vaccination wagon and he's tried to flog his union mates to push up the numbers and it has backfired horrifically. Closing down construction for two weeks seems insane politically, giving these people time to protest is not so smart. Today will be the day that shows whether Dan Andrews can reign this in, or whether he is cooked. If the city is shut down by mass violent protest, then I think Merlino will roll him. Then I expect no mandates and a matched roadmap to NSW including all schools back at the start of term 4.

50k is not a great salary here, I haven't made under 6 figures in more than 15 years. Well would be 65k or so over there, converted to USD is 50k. And you work as an owner of a sales company. You make money but you also have a lot more risk than the normal worker, particular during your startup period. And over here, two people making 50k each puts your household percentile rank at 66% and 57% percentile rank for a worker aged 50. At 30, that would put you into the 72% percentile rank. People are really bad seeing how inequal things are in the US. For your income, lets say you only made 100k USD a year. You would be at 90th percentile. If you made 200k USD you would be at 98th percentile. That is before taxes income as well. Meanwhile my 9800 a year from social security puts me at 7% percentile rank here. Whoo!!! I was making 6-figures as a salaried technician with overtime. Median household income in Australia is A$88,695 per year The average Australian salary is 90k per year, but the median is 60k, it's not the corporate types skewing the numbers.

For one their dollar is worth less than the US dollar. And their inequality rating is far lower.
Unless your CEOS and corporate management are making 60k or less then yeah, they are skewing the numbers. That essentially is what skew is, the deviation from mean that creates asymmetry in the distributions.

You know what, fuck them. The way that reporter was attacked, a number of times was disgusting.
This was mob mentality bullshit that went beyond being angry at the government mandates.
Yesterday could be forgiven, and if the CFMEU had any real leadership they would have called for calm and asked to speak with the Andrews Government to avoid any chaos.

That essentially is what skew is, the deviation from mean that creates asymmetry in the distributions. We don't have the same volume of ceos in Australia. And 🤯, its hard to be super rich in Australia, but it's pretty easy to be well off with a dual income household. I live in the burbs the median house price is 800k to a mill Most of the homes are owned by tradies around here. Everything is expensive in Australia and tax is higher. I could have earned what I have now in Australia in a tenth of the time in the USA

Idk how real this is, but even with an armed militia and someone held hostage these demands wouldn’t be met 🥴 Yeah, I don't think that's the union protestors. This isn't a protest run by the unions, but the overwhelming majority members. To those claiming that the protestors are at-right or anti vaxers... What do you think these people do for a job. NATH45 I hated seeing the violence too, but I condemn assaulting anyone, but the media in Melbourne is a disgrace, they tried to paint the protests as being about tea rooms and claimed everyone at the protest were proud boys. It's nearly impossible to get unbiased media in Melbourne now, it's as if the majority of the media thinks parroting the government narrative is some sort of public health service announcement. Also infuriated by the way the media shops around to find the most hysterical models and experts they can find... Bill Bowtell is a knob.

At best it is a wildcat protest.
And obviously they are anti-vax, that literally is what opposition to the vaccine is. What you all should be worried about is shit like that graphic, as that is straight Q. If they made this far inroads into Australia, can only expect the alt right to rise, along with the violence they bring. The news there already is slowly embracing as well and things can rapidly devolve into the US cycle of the news promoting violence to them cover the said violence with outrage, promoting more violence and so on. Once the cycle starts near impossible to stop, only to go more extreme. Alt right news leaders already pegged the country as a cash cow, and the people seem to be responding to it.

Most people I spoke to were condemning the protests yesterday. Despite some sympathy to the initial need to protest.
The mandates are awful. The industry is down to 25%, forced vaccinations to be able to work, inability to travel for work. The "no tea room" rule was just a petty kick in the nutsack that was designed to punish an industry that wasn't pulling its weight in regards to being covid-safe. There's a lot of hurt feelings.
This is what happens when the ignorant collide with the arrogant. Today Andrew's needs to publicly sit down with John Setka and condemn this action and at least humour the construction industry with some talk. Or this will go on and on, and on.
But I'm all for Andrew's resignation.

No one was really ever saying there weren't tradies there - but it was always clear that it was a false flag operation and they were deliberately trying to undermine the union and create a false narrative. The screenshot of one of the ringleaders telling people to wear hi vis and hard hats for the optics obviously proves that.
There's an enormous distinction between CMFEU members and casual workers at a courier depot in terms of political influence. This might bubble along for a few more days but they'll get tired of it eventually, most of those boys will be feeling it this morning having walked from the city to the West Gate bridge every day. 2000 manchild flogs aren't going to make the Premier resign.

New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro says his tenure as Nationals leader has been a "tough run" after he announced this morning he would stand down on Wednesday, just days after the resignation of Premier Gladys Berejiklian. Mr Barilaro said in a statement he would call for a party meeting on Wednesday where he would officially resign. Mr Barilaro said he would work with the Speaker and the Electoral Commission in relation to a by-election for his seat of Monaro. As we emerge from lockdown, we must embrace this time as a new beginning for our state, and welcome the opportunity it presents for a refresh," he said. "I have decided now is the right time for me to hand the reins over to new leadership, and resign as Deputy Premier of NSW." Speaking to the media this morning, Mr Barilaro spoke of the crises that had afflicted the state during his time as leader. "We've had some tough days - throughout the worst drought in regional NSW in recorded history, then the bushfires, floods, the mice plague, and then the global pandemic of COVID hitting not only the regions, but our state, the nation and the globe," he said. He admitted the role had taken its toll - particularly his ongoing involvement in a defamation case he brought against YouTube personality Jordan Shanks, also known as Friendlyjordies. "Ten and a half years is a long time in politics," he said. Mr Barilaro said it seemed apparent Treasurer Dominic Perrottet would be the next NSW Premier, and he said he would be well-suited to the role. "I genuinely believe in his role as Treasurer he has all the skills and all the ability and if endorsed as the leader of the Liberal Party, Premier of this state, he will do a wonderful job," he said. He said "any" of his Nationals colleagues could take up the leadership of the party, but did not name one. And he ruled out a return to politics at either state or federal level. www.9news.com.au/national/john-barilaro-deputy-premier-resigns-days-after-gladys-berejiklian-nsw/956f1965-2c0a-4710-bad7-7ef2010700d9

Another one bites the dust.
I wonder if in an alternative timeline, if Covid wasn't a thing, whether either party would step down. Part of me thinks, there's some sense of relief. Despite the possible outcome of investigations.

Would you say that about a Muslim? If they are homophobic, misogynistic, anti-abortion, anti-reporting of confessions of child sexual abuse - then yeah absolutely. Morrison at least tries to keep it on the down low with his doofus Cronulla cap wearing facade - this guy is openly proud about being a bigot. It's disgusting.

I disagree with him on the issue of clergy being required to report sexual abuse. The rest of the matters are his personal ethics that he would vote in line with, but he hasn't forced those views on anyone else. I'm baffled by Australia at the moment where catholic views are abhorrent but we happily facilitate Islamic segregation of the sexes and forced hijabs and call it diversity.

Privately school educated and with a $2 Million networth, I think it's incredibly tone deaf to use such terminology as 'conservative spring' - the term 'spring' being most associated with the response to corruption, political and social revolutions in some of the most oppressed countries and cultures in the world. I don't like the slogan, but son.. check your privilege.

If only there were people to tell conservatives when they get knocked off the horse, they need to just pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and saddle back up. To stop whining, grow up and act like a man instead of wanting mommy to come make things right after their little feelings are hurt.

I pointed out that younger people didn’t have quick enough access to the vaccines before 11th October in regional areas, as many want or needed Pfizer/Moderna and weren’t able to take AZ until recently and even if you book in for AZ it still basically tells you to get the other two if you’re under 60. Pfizer nor Moderna are readily available here.
Anyway the braindead FB badge brigade keep telling that wasn’t the case until they made it that workers had to only have one dose to work on the 11th with a second appointment booked in industries such as retail/hospitality. I wonder why that would be?
So say I was half vaxxed I can still come to work, I just can’t come in on my day off to to the same venue…
