You can just see the oven over my shoulder, I was sitting about a metre from it. The Peronis were definitely no match for the food sweats. 

I have a wood fired pizza oven, but it is a pain in the ass as you need to pre-heat it for like 4hrs before you cook.

I am so lucky as my area is filled with coal ovens or naples style ovens with brick and steel and being the lay of the land. Only when I went down south I realized how bad most pizza was. Up here to even stay open you need to have a really good pizza, and cheap traditional pizza oven will not cut it. Top stores change owners a lot but remain top because they have like 80 year old ovens.

For home pizza I would not fuck with the outdoor setup. It will get the job done, but it is such a pain in the ass to get to heat, and it is an unstable heat. My advice, get a solid steel pan and do a detroit or sicilian. If I can do them from raw, then anyone can. They are traditionally thicker, but you can roll the dough beforehand for thinner pizza. These all cook at 500f and fries the bottom of the pizza with a layer of oil.

Still takes like four hours, but most of that is just waiting for the dough to rise or relax so you can do other shit.

I really enjoy cooking, and going to the Asian market near my house has allowed me to try making new things. Like tonight, I made tteokbokki!

Asian markets are great. If you like spicy try to find Buldak instant noodles.

Any time I need any kind of fresh produce, I go to an Asian market first before I go anywhere else. It's so cheap it's insane.

Nongshim Shin is my ramen of choice. Not too expensive to buy in bulk. It is Asian hot for sure. I cannot spike my sodium on lithium so I use half the packet and it is still really hot.

But yeah huge difference between Asian instant noodles and American ones.

3 weeks until holiday in New Zealand!!! So so so excited. Going to miss my dog like crazy, but I can’t wait to do everything I have planned and not have to work for a week 😁

Found out I get out of work early tomorrow, and my work's closed on memorial day. I am getting *high* this weekend.

Oh, yeah, found edible gummies that actually hit me, so in the last month I've actually gotten high for the first time in my entire life. Shit rules.

Edibles hit better for me with fatty foods. Particularly good fat like avocado, eggs, nuts.


I recently rediscovered my love for cannabis too.

First few times I did gummies I wrote notes for myself begging not to ever do it again. I really thought I was dying. Now it's barely a buzz mostly because I probably need too much mg.

One of my brothers lives in Japan, and visits Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam regularly. I get care packages of Asian instant Ramon , in languages I can’t read. Now sure I could use google and figure out what they are. But it’s way more fun to come home on my lunch break and play Ramon roulette. I’ve tasted some interesting shit… and burnt my nose hairs out on a few as well.

Never gonna become a reality. If anything it would be banned in most of the US. But like hydrogen cars, no money for big energy in a cheap source of power means they will do all in their power to demonize or kill this, including buying the patent to simply bury it.

I have plans to go to pride events every Saturday this month. Compared to just the one event I went to last year, I'm SO excited.

In a weeks time… I will be in New Zealand and going to Spookers. I am so unbelievably excited. 1)Just going on holiday - it’s been ages, and I’m excited. 2) NEW ZEALAND! And 3) I absolutely love Horror, and I can’t believe this place exists and I get to go!

I honestly wish my mum wasn’t terrified of flying, and had the health to travel. I know she would love this place, she got so excited just from the few pictures I showed her. She’s the only person I know who loves horror as much as I do, most of my family and friends don’t enjoy horror (they are missing out for real).

Super super excited!

So far I love working for this new company. I hope I have a long tenure with them. Sure some of the bosses are pains, but no place is perfect. Overall, it could be worse. I know I just came from it. I've gotten 2 raises in less than a year, and today they gave me an extra week vacation based on my relevant work experience rather than my years with the company.

Now it's not alll about money, but...

Did you get a new job or is the "new company" the one that purchased yours? Either way, great to hear.

This is the company that bought us. We are in year two so this sentiment could change, but I'm crossing my fingers all goes well because while there have been a couple minuses, the pluses far outweigh them currently, at least personally. Others do not seem to feel the same as I do.

To me, an extra week vacation is money. I also got told that in 2 years I'll be up to 5 weeks, which I shouldn't be eligible for for another ten years, but because they took into consideration my 14 years in the industry prior to them buying us and every year I am with them it's compounds at 1.5 years instead of just 1 year, I'll get to 5 weeks at year 18 instead of 20. Bonus!

When I look at owner reviews it's hard to believe that they're talking about the same model of car sometimes they're so opposite.

Congrats though mate, I would love a Tesla just for the interface, I love the whole iPad style dashboard.

The Model Y is controversial as it been recalled 22 times now and has quality control issues. So very likely people have very different experiences.

Coin toss if the touchscreen interface remains legal or not in the US. Congress has bills outlawing them, demanding a return to dials and buttons. Oil money backing it since most electric cars use them, while few gas ones do. They will use the recent research on interfaces being visually distracting, requires more eye time off the road and is harder to use in an emergency than traditional controls. Think of the children and all.  Also when it blacks out, you lose your speedometer and battery gauge which is my issue, but that can be fixed with a redundant system and screen where the traditional gauge stuff was.

I have a job interview tomorrow… which I’m pretty sure I will get it for a few reasons but I’m honestly starting to freak out about it 😂 if I get rejected (knowing what the work situation is there atm and that my Dad works there and said a lot of good things) I will be super offended, but if I do get it - which I really hope so. I have to give up my other 2 jobs, one I won’t miss that much. I loved the stores but there was just as much negatives about it, the other one I’ve been there since the store opened. It’s been almost 6 years, I love the shop, I love my colleagues, I am upset with my boss a bit still but overall he is by far the best boss I’ve ever had and I’m really upset that I’ll be leaving. Which I know it’s time, it’s never going anywhere further, it’s not going to change, but I’m really sad to end that chapter.

I don’t even have the job yet, and now I can’t sleep because it’s all I can think about. But this is the positivity thread so I AM EXCITED TO HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW!!!
